Bethenny, I left my husband 25 years ago and he still controls the nasty narrative of who he sees me to be. His ego has never adjusted to the fact that I just didn't love him anymore. He's created chaos in my life and in my children's lives. My beautiful daughter is betwixt and between, not understanding the truth of his anger. Daughters and daddies - it's a tough one!

Imagine people going through this with no money. You’re blessed. I know it’s hard to see the blessings through all this. So stressful. I can’t imagine. I had a bad enough time but my ex moved away. He’s had virtually nothing to do with his two kids in over 40 years. My husband is the only father they ever had. They adore him.

You are under siege in these kind of crazy divorces. I see it every day in my work as a Divorce Consultant/Coach. I also lived it. My ex set my house on fire, put listening devices in my house, tracking devices on my car, took one of the kids and kept the child from me for months, and then dragged my child in court five times!!!!! . The list goes on and on and on...................... Each day was a new surprise. The Toture Den is putting it mildly.

It was a war for their little hearts and minds. I feel your pain…and now a decade later deep in the long term effects of post emotional abuse and control-the damage to children is beyond words. Doing everything to keep my oldest daughter alive. 💔 Thank you for shedding light on this insidious scenario. Deeply grateful to you B. 🙏🏼🙏🏼

For anyone that has snide remarks to make, this coming from a daughter of a single mother who also had to battle alone in the courts, the trauma is real. Bethenny being vulnerable & open is amazing because it will allow people who are in the same situation to understand it can happen to anyone & its not their fault. The amount of gaslighting and constant torture no matter how "trivial" the actions of torture are, can be unbearable for one human being. And that's how it was for my mother, my father isolated my mother from her family for 13 years, no friends, no money, no nothing & my mother figured it out by *herself.* As an adult myself now the amount of respect I have for my mother, how she handled it alone, whilst not once saying anything bad about my father quite the opposite tried to resolve issues for me, I will forever be her protector now. I see so much of my mothers story in Bethenny's & its important for women fighting in situations like this to fully understand what they are up against. Please don't be so low as to mock another humans trauma. Be better.

I went through something similar in 1987. Took 2 1/2 years to get my divorce in Florida. Similar tactics were played out in my case but, on a smaller scale. My ex’s parents had money, I did not. It is a torture chamber you think you’re never getting out of. My daughter is now 40 years old. She’s a very successful woman but, has never wanted children. At 62 years old I still cry when I think 0f the horror we went through and how unnecessary it all was. What you’re doing is truthful, raw and so needed for all women to hear. Thank you Bethenny!

My divorce took 3 years and then another 6 years of hell where me and my kids suffered under 50/50 custody and I spent those 6 years turning the tables to finally get full custody. It was torture for 9 years and I’m still dealing with tactics from my ex to make my life hard. My attorneys said the same thing that they could not believe how difficult my case had become because my ex was absolutely impossible. thank god my kids are older cause when they were little and all this was going on it was a nightmare on steroids. Needless to say I have PTSD from living in a war zone for 9 years. me and my kids love our home because it is a safe cocoon for us. my gawd I wouldn’t wish that time in my life on my worst enemy. We were all cheated out of living a normal life like everyone else. No one knew the absolute hell we endured day in and day out and it’s a hell that only a narcissist can deliver.
