I appreciated hearing a different interpretation of the "and I had said that to Jack about you so I felt seen" line. Personally I always understood that part as "I ALSO told my friend I'd k*ll myself if you and I broke up, I'm so glad you matched my energy with that" but your explanation makes a lot of sense too :)

this is one of the few songs of miss swift that i don't like and hearing your thoughts about it gave me a new perspective. i realised that typewriter man is actually my ex gf except smoking and eating 7 bars of chocolate lol😭 jokes aside, this is why i really like being a part of niamh's living room friends community (???). i think we are really different people in real life even though i relate to most of your thoughts that you share online, and hearing your thoughts always clarifies things for me. i don't know how to explain that, but thank you for being here, you really are my comfort person 🥺🤍🤍 idk why this went so emotional all of a sudden sorry. and by the way your hair looks so cute, i wish i could cut mine like that but my hair is curly and this haircut would be a disaster for me probably (and i recently made a decision to not cut my hair short again. i'm trying to stick to that decision because i've never had my hair past my shoulders)

I interpreted the beginning somewhat different. So I view it as her coming from a place of he just broke her heart and she's pissed. She sees his typewriter in her apartment and starts thinking sarcastically like "straight from the tortured poets department" then "who uses typewriters anyway?" even though she doesn't think or say that normally about people ysing typewriters... basically the opposite of what you said, lol

Everything you're saying is literally me and my husband of 18 years. He is such a dickhead sometimes... I get SO mad at him sometimes. The thing is, he grew up with a VERY toxic father and weak mother who didn't help. He has "episodes" where he will slowly start "throwing spikes down on the road" and "self-sabotaging". I am the one that came in to "fix and decode" him. And he has been actively working on himself all these years and that's the only reason I stay. He is an amazing man overall, amazing father, amazing uncle, son, brother, partner, amazing provider, etc but he goes through these episodes every 4 to 6 months where he just starts losing control of himself, starts being a shitty partner towards me... a lot of people our whole relationship have told me to leave him and I won't because I know him and again, who's gonna love him if not me? I chose this cyclone. Most of the time it's easy, it's fun, it's spontaneous. Other times I wonder if he even wants to be here, I wonder if he just tolerates it. So many Taylor lyrics hit home for me whether it's the happy moments or the sad moments of my relationship, I can relate so much. To add, we have been through SO much over the years (obviously) and that's what a relationship is sometimes. It's not always perfect. It's complex as you said. The thing is, you gotta find someone that will love you for your imperfections and someone that you can love for their imperfections. As long as you both have the same morals, if you're in love that's all you need.
