Other than local lakes and the Chattahoochee River, my wife and I are land locked in west Georgia, USA, but we live vicariously through you two. Your trips, insights and tutelage are truly appreciated. I'm a knot guy and an avid cook. My wife has always been adventurous out doors, so your life style is a hit for us to admire. Hugely entertaining as we work through each of your new offerings, mostly on our weekends and even re-run some of our fav's. I am a practical, safe and environmentally conscious boater. The Eagle Scout still in me. You folks seem to be environmentally conscious as well. How do you deal with waste? We all generate bodily waste coupled with the necessary toilet paper and hygiene products as well as kitchen waste paper, cans and foil. Grease, oil and scraps normally discarded to a sink disposal or land fill when land locked. Lubricants, oily rags, contaminated fuel and oils that are no longer serviceable. Colds, flu, other routine illnesses in life. Medicines? You two are at sea for weeks. How do you prepare and cope? On another thought, how do you deal with conflicts between the two of you when you are at sea? My wife and I have been together for over 45 years, but there are still challenging days from time to time. I can retreat to my man cave and her to her she shed until whatever bad weather passes and we forget why we were annoyed with one another and remember why we love one another. Perfect bliss at sea or are there times you want to ring a neck? You two are amazing. Best wishes and safe sailing, Chuck and Dee

Woo, what a comment. Well, sure we have rough patches but our lives depend upon each other and that makes for a bond stronger than problems our egos might throw up. Besides, Pascale is very patient with me! All waste oil, rags etc is stowed on board for shoreside disposal. Each oil change being 2l means waste storage is pretty easy even for long periods. Food waste can be thrown overboard because it's mostly fish scraps. Not much waste from sprouts, cooked grains and legumes etc. whole foods don't have much packaging and we transfer what we can into reusable containers before leaving. Bulk stores come in good rigid containers. We can discharge poo overboard once it's ground up by our marine toilet as long as we are more than certain distances from different marine installations (eg. aquaculture facilities). Further south, more regulation will come into effect and we will build a holding tank. We don't use foil or glad wrap. Our soaps are low phosphate or natural ingredients. Every action has an impact and everything on earth lives at the expense of something else. Even herbivores kill plants after all but we try minimise ours and we think our simple life leaves plenty of resources for others.

I have to say that I have found these videos some of the most interesting I find. Troy, you are truly one of 'The most interesting men of the world'. Fit, rugged, experienced in life and of course, you got the girl. Pascal, what can I say, intelligent, easy on the eyes and a true delight in everything you do. Keep that wonderful laugh and that beautiful smile and both of you will make the rest of us have better outlook on life.

Our solution to fly and most other insects is a product called "Bug-a-Salt" which quickly dispatches the critter without a splattered mess. The flies have no chance. There are plenty of videos on KZbin about this product. We love your channel as it is our most favorite channel on KZbin. I could almost feel the chill of that rain water shower Pascale gave herself. Why aren't there more women in the world like her? She is a very capable sailor and yet never loses her femininity. Fantastic fish again. Love it ! Cheers.

I like your videos so much I have watched many of them several times. I have watched you smoking fish and pork and want to confirm that you just put salt & sugar on the meat before it is smoked. I have cold smoked fish multiple times when I lived in Puerto Rico. We built a smoker about the size of a medium sized refrigerator. We even used racks from an old refrigerator to put our fish on. We built a fire pit on the beach and then set the box over it after the fire was reduced to coals. We smoked barracuda, eel, and other fish. We left the smoker heating for at least 12 hours. It wasn't very hot, but was very smoky. We never put rubs or marinades on our seafood we were smoking. I have a couple of really good smokers now and plan on using your technique soon.

Your coconut part made me realize how to make a portable husker. In most areas they use a fixed and secured spike and stab the coco and peel the husk. Portable shore version would be a 19 cm thick spike on one end and a pointed threaded end on the other. Welded handles and thread it into a fallen tree and off comes the husk. Could get a stock up in short order. Love your vids and you catch more fish than any other vid I watch. Cheers

I've got a 26' balboa slipped, with which I'm learning on lake Millerton hoping in a year or two to be capable enough myself to begin some coastal trips and finally with a bit larger boat into open waters. Just happened to stumble upon your videos during one of the longest snowiest springs in the history of man (in the Great Lakes of the US). What a treat and relief your videos were. I've watched only a few and they're very nicely done. And your music selection fits perfectly with my tastes I really like your ethical approach to the environment and your understanding and appreciation of our fisheries. And your cooking and technical commentary is excellent. I captained a small survey vessel, definitely not a sailor, it is it obvious you'd both be great to have on board. I wouldn't want to change anything you do. But, just as a matter of personal preference, I hope you do not resort to flying a drone. I do a lot of recreating on public land and my opinion is that they belong on or above private property only. I cannot think of anything more aesthetically abhorrent than quietly enjoying a beautiful sunset or watching wildlife and having a drone fly over. I think they don't belong on public land or in public air space except under very specific circumstances. I watched your life stream last night. Very nicely done. Thanks for saving my sanity during one of the most horrible Great Lakes springs in the history of man.

You show real personality and show us what it's REALLY like to sail each day, small and big with just the two of you. Do you have any long range sailing plans? If so, when & where do you start? And where did you find the last song on your video!!?? I am assuming it was Thi by Twelve, but I could not find it anywhere..... It's a great song to just while away some time doing whatever.... sailing, hiking.......... nice. Wishing you good seas and the wind at your back!!!!

Hi Dave - Thank you for the warm message! The last track is Up in Arms by Gymnast. You can listen to the track for free in the link in the description of the video - we bought a licence for it from Lickd because we liked it so much! Long range sailing plans is to complete Australia over the next year or so and then, depending on how much support we can get for our channel on Paypal and Patreon, we plan to switch up to a blue water cruiser and head to New Zealand, Pacific, Japan, BC and Alaska (although we are not sure in which order yet!)
