Skizz talking about helping people on the quarter pipe and looking for people who are scared as opposed to ready to make the push was my favorite part of this. Hearing how he speaks of others and how genuinely kind and compassionate he is towards others just makes my heart so happy and makes me want to be a better person myself. Much love as always guys 💕

Skizz and Impulse, what's the fuss with all of you hermits and age? OWN IT, BE PROUD of it, you accomplished so much. you'll never be as young as you are right this moment, don't be ashamed of it. Also it might encurage some of seasoned watchers to do something they might think they are to old for. you don't have to pretend to be 20 somethings, if you were many of us wouldn't watch you.. we are here because you are who you are, and most of it is due to your age and experience. LOVE YOU GUYS SO MUCH!!!

Yes! This. Don't be sad about your age! In a way, you're a testament to the fact that you can succeed at your goals through hard work and perseverance. Especially with Impulse, you could also see that despite feeling like there's a huge distance between where you are in life and where you want to go, that it's important to not give up. And that it's never too late to follow a dream. Man had a stable job, a wife, 3 kids, but he wasn't truly happy with his employment. He worked so incredibly hard to get to his goals. So it's never too late. Sure, you might be 40, but you are still accomplishing great things and it's inspiring.

Its weird for me to say how much I needed your comment. I am turning 20 which sounds to me and people around me like a huge leap, especially with people on the internet just talking how old they are which make it sound that getting older is only negative, and that it starts at 30 instead of later on. Appreciate it man! ❤️

Not just on KZbin but all over people are always so strange with Age not wanting to tell you, or people say it's impolite to ask someone especially a Woman how old they're and it's like why? What's the deal with age it's not a negative thing, I had my hairdresser ask me once how old I was and then right after she apologized and said I didn't have to say but she couldn't tell if I was 20s or 30s and I just said I didn't care if she asked my age and just said 23 (at the time now I'm 26) I mean if anyone wants to know ever I don't mind it's just a number there's nothing negative about being Young or Old

I thought it was because any private information they give out, I.E name, age, city they live, was because it makes it easier to track them down. Sure we have a ballpark number for their ages, but for the most part, they probably want to keep some form of privacy.

Ok so i havent gotten to listening to this episode but... there are some things i want to say I got into this through the Scar episode i have been loving it i think have been through 6-7 episodes or something. I really enjoyed the qna episodes and the ghost stories one. Last week's happiness episode also was a good listen while on the road. You guys should get Zedaph and Grian on here sometime. The online format with Scar definetly worked. Also i would love an episode on your general experience in the video game world.

The clip of the "warped wall" or quarter pipe, shows a big difference between men's and women's bodies. That lady was helped at the very end but her center of gravity is in her behind and she struggled even with help. Men's center of gravity is in their bellies so they have an advantage in that particular event. For those who want a timestamp 33:12.

Wow! What an experience that must have been! That's a big deal and a great accomplishment! I got to do a mud race. The Biggest Loser sponsored it. We piggy-backed on the Spartan race. So that race was going at the same time. There were only about 20 of us. We did 5K race so started in the middle of the Spartan course and we could chose to do the mud obstacles or run by them. I chose to do some what I could do. What I loved so much was the Spartan racers didn't have to cheer us on but they DID! They were yelling and cheering us on. One woman saw that I was struggling stopped her race and jogged with me. She was about 60 plus. She had gray hair and defined muscles. She could bench press me! She gave me some great advice and encouragement. She said "Think of all those people who are sitting on the couch today!" You are moving better than they are right now. Something like that. That stuck with me to this day. I'm so grateful for her and that community cheering us on! So Cool! BTW we later found out that we didn't do 5K but ended up doing about 8miles not 3! I was covered in mud. I got to do the race with my cousin. Just 5 yrs ago my cousin died of cancer. I'm grateful for that wonderful memory and experience I had with her.

Listening to all of this reminds me of the Polar Bear Contests I used to do. I did them at a smaller camp in early winter that had a lake with an island in the middle and a bridge on one end. We had to completely submerge at least once, stay in the water for 15 minutes, and then walk the mile around the island (still in the waist-high water) before exiting. That was always fun to me and i would do it again in a heartbeat. It was always an awesome experience where we cheered each other on, because in the North Eastern states, that was not an easy feat lol

I did a local mud run here in Kentucky in 2018. But half of it was in the woods. Some challenges we had to do was carry a large log round a a circle about 1/4th a mile. The run through the woods ended at a cliff face with a 15 foot drop in to the natural river bellow. The we had to repel down with some ropes they had tied off to trees with out a harness, then go 1/2 mile upstream in that river that's 4 to 5 feet deep till we got out to the main field. We didn't have anything there that would electrocute you. Our last obstacle was the huge mud pile with the hoses being sprayed on it that pile of mud ramp had to be 20 foot tall. I was right there with you I wouldn't have made it up ramps with out the help of so many people. It was an experience.

I did one of these back in 2015 when I was 16 years old.. it was super tough. Would never do it again due to almost getting stuck inside a tube when my mum almost had a panic attack infront of me and refused to move for a few minutes, and my ankle getting wrapped up in ropes after running across floating mats on water. I fell into the water and was unable to get my foot out of it until someone helped me. Scariest moments of my time, but glad I did it. Big ups to everyone who participates!

I did a spinoff run called Run for Your Lives in 2013, which was a zombie apocalypse 5K hard obstacle run where you also has a flag football style belt with three flags for "lives". So in about 10 or so areas of the map there were wondering hordes of zombies that "kill" you by getting your flags. Once you lost your flags you could still finish the race but you finished "dead". The obstacles were very similar sounding, including the wires and monkey bars, but last obstacle was a 30 foot army crawl through a creek bed that had a chain link fence tunnel that was less that 2 feet above you, and naturally it was electrified. There were 2 tunnels you could choose from, and what made it disconcerting was while I was waiting 3 or so people back to crawl on my side, there were EMTs giving full-on CPR to someone they had to pull back out of the other tunnel! I don't know if he was shocked in such a way to stop his heart or something? In any event I followed the person that was in front of me to the first aid tent (I had pulled all the calluses off my hands) and there we found out we were the last people to go through the tunnel electrified. The person that went there with me had gravel embedded in her chin, becuase she looked up to see if she was out of the tunnel, got zapped, and slammed her face into the creek bed.

Skizz, one way to help with your dislike of the cold is something Cody from Wranglerstar channel is doing, he does a breathing exercise called the "Whimhurst"(sp?) Technique, and a three minute cold shower, once you get used to the three minutes, go for longer periods, and when you get ready, go for an ice water dunk. The feeling of revigoration you felt after the ice bath on the marathon is the benefit along with the extra oxygen from the breathing is a serious health boost.

Skizz you remind me so much of my grandfather, the way you care for people, and helped other people through the quarterpipe and other challenges. he never told me personally some of the stories i heard, but he was in belgian Congo as a missionary, during BOTH revolutions in the fifties. and even the Rebels had grudging respect for him, in the way he'd go out of his way to help people. they spared his life several times because of it.

Man, listening to you guys talk about how much you *enjoyed* doing these things, just for the fun of them and succeeding in the challenge, it's reminding me that I actually did used to enjoy sports and obstacle courses and such. I used to be a Scout, where we ran (age appropriate) courses like this at camps and we'd all be laughing while covered in mud and getting revenge on the Rovers for spraying us with water hoses while we tried crawling through these muddy tunnels and over 6ft sheer walls. I used to play netball for my high school, and the adrenaline pumping and satisfaction of a hard game felt euphoric even if we lost. I've not been nearly so physically active in my adult life, for reasons including a knee injury preventing me from playing netball competitively anymore, but I'd forgotten how much fun this kind of thing is so I've never bothered to try making time for it again. Listening to this, and the similarities it has with things I did as a teen, and the fact that you guys were doing them at around the age I am now... It almost feels like permission to go out and make space for this kind of activity in my life again, to remember that I *did* used to love it, and that there's no reason I can't again.

You guys talking about it made me look it up bc I was thinking "I'd love to try something like that" even with all the stories of how tough it was, then i saw the price and thought "maybe in a few years" lol. I'm 19, i got time to spare I personally would love the water ones, like the diving one made me think of how I'd go about it. I would have no issue with the tunnel, I'm the opposite of claustrophobic. I'm really excited for the year I have the money and the time to try, it sounds like a lot of work and a lot of fun. Plus it'd be a fun accomplishment to point to, to prove that despite my tendency to stay inside, I'm not as lazy as I seem On that last point, i mostly want that bc my aunt (who barely knows the real me) make a comment about how lazy i was, during the period of time where i was walking home from school (about 90 minutes) every day, for fun. I didn't have to, i wanted to. All bc i was sitting on the couch in my own home while she was helping my mom. If you can't tell, I'm a little salty about it lol. She implied that I should be in better shape, when there's nothing about my physical appearance that would cause someone to think I'm out of shape. It was purely my behavior that caused her to think that, y'know relaxing in my own home I'm biologically inclined to being skinny, i didn't even look chubby as a toddler (which is how i know it's probably my genetics and not my own doing). I also don't have much visible muscle, but many people have proven time and again that that doesn't mean anything. Every physical ability I have, I didn't purposely train, I just did fun things that led to me getting them. Except maybe my strength a little, bc i accidentally took a gym class in highschool that included some muscle toning. I'm a great climber bc i love climbing things, I have good balance bc i balanced on the edge of the playground often during recess, I've lost less flexibility with age bc my ADHD has caused me to accidentally microdose stretches and such (can't sit still disorder coming in clutch lol). Coming back to my invisible muscles, I like to challenge myself with how much I can lift when bringing groceries in, and I've definitely gotten pretty strong over the years It's not insane, but it's not what you'd expect from a 5'5 skinny 19 year old who watches KZbin and plays video games most of their free time and never works out (tho younger siblings can be a work out, my brother is 10 and still insists on piggy back rides every time he can get away with it, and it barely impedes me when I'm not tired) Love my ADHD deciding that now was the time to ramble lol, I think I've gotten it out of my system for now. Might be bc I haven't talked yet since I've woken up (about 4 or 5 hours) lol

Yeah….that crawling under the net is training for getting under port barriers and water intakes to infiltrate a position. No joke. What was that “black water”? In lifeguard training, we learned to enter the water with legs in an open scissors position with arms out to the sides, and scissor kicking and clapping the water with our arms at the same time, resulting in our heads staying above water, allowing us to keep a drowning subject in sight. Idk how effective this would be in a liquid that wasn’t water, though. 🤔🤷‍♀️

I think it's just water that's black. If it's in turf ground, the mud will turn it black, not brown. Or they dumped some colouring in to make it hard to see.

I hadn't heard of this before but after hearing this definitely couldn't pay me enough to do any of those obstacles, I don't really whine if I'm in pain and if I am I'll usually ignore it like if I pull a muscle I don't stop I just keep going, but I try to avoid it to extreme lengths like if I've got a cut on my finger when I wash my hands I'll try best as I can to not get soap in the cut because even if it's just a little sting I don't like it, so I'd hate to go into something knowing I'd be bruised and sore by the end possibly injured that'd be a big nope for me, with the exception of the Monkey Bars that actually sounds really fun even if you get hurt doing it that one is probably worth it.

Great podcast. I think Imp kept saying 10,000 volts? I think he meant 10 volts, or about what a car battery is (12 volts). 2,700 volts is fatal. 500 volts burns.
@circularrobert
@circularrobert Жыл бұрын
It's not the volts that's the problem, it's the amps. Tazers are 1000s of volts, and they're used without killing people. Electric fencing is also 100s to 1000s of Vs. Your overhead/underground power cables are 10kV broken down to 480v (region dependent), but the sheer amount of amps that's going through it is what turns you into a pair of smoking boots, not the volts.

question to Skizz. Do you ever loose inspiration to youtube? i am asking you because you have been making videos for years and you have bearly made it past 57k subs. I always loose motivation when stuff goes slow. Anyways Love you guys

Tough mudders here in the UK too, I've looked at them a couple of times and just cried at the thought of that much mud :D Good on both of you.

Same. I've done event when I've got mud on me and it's so itchy so can't handle having to have that on my body for multiple hours

good podcast 👍, good story of a past event you both did but not sure what the message is?. Has Imp ran out of just for men? looks a bit arctic fox on the sides 🐻‍❄, for 50th why not do a walk hire a car that it will take a week to get home walking and camp or stay in hotels? and do a blog? or a road trip in a camper van and do a blog?

Impulse not being impressed about the video of the guy getting shocked and falling down after getting zapped so much has let me keep watching. Cos trying to make fun of that moment is not a gd look. Im going to keep watching cos I love the podcast but yeah that video kinda made me feel werid
