Even though I can’t talk to you guys directly in person, I am always willing to give you my time watching this podcast. Even though I’m a busy person with lots of worries, it’s never a waste of my time. You both dedicate hours of your time for us, and we all appreciate it. It makes our lives better, and time stands still for me when I’m here. Love you guys!

I thought Skizz was going to say, at the 16m mark, "I hope that this podcast is a time stopping moment." And you know what? He didn't, but it totally is. I never feel like it's a waste of time. Even though I listen alone right when it comes out, I also know I'm going to be able to talk about it with friends on the imp and Skizz discord. And I'm also listening to see if I should recommend it to my family. So, in fact, it creates new chances to create shared time. ❤

Often I listen to it while I'm at work (alone making dough for 5-6 hours) then I go home and listen with my husband. We always have interesting conversations. ❤ Actually my husband said skizz is the only hermit he actually recognizes when Im walking around with my phone listening on my own. 😅 Lol I love it even more since skizz isn't technically a hermit. But I think he's earned the title honorary hermit. ❤

47:53 Speaking of putting people on the spot in a stream, that’s exactly what happened to Br0dy and Etho on the latest Don’t Starve stream. Br0dy was asked if he would consider going on the podcast if asked and passed on the question to Etho as well. They both said yes though who knows, you might ask they privately and they might change their mind without the stream pressure. I think both would be fantastic guests though. If you want to hear for yourself how they answered the question, look in the comments of Br0dyman’s Week 5 of Don’t Starve Together. I’ll pop in the timestamp if it isn’t there already.

I would love to see your wives on the podcast as guests if they’re up for it! My husband and I have been married for just shy of two years, but especially in the face of so many “wife jokes” or “the ol’ ball and chain” type humor it’s so awesome seeing folks like you two talk so openly and positively about their marriages. Also happy 20 year anniversary, Impulse!

I'm not usually a podcast person, but Imp&Skizz Podcast has hit different for me. You two have such a great dynamic, speak to each other so well, and overall are just so very obviously skilled in the art of conversing (i.e. you guys know when to stop and let the other speak, no one is really dominating the conversation, etc). I look forward to the new episodes every Friday :) You guys joke about the 3 levels & challenge, but in my opinion those episodes are always the most inspirational to listen to-- this one is no exception. I've even made my own personal playlist compiling the most motivating podcast episodes you guys have posted so that I can re-listen whenever I feel like I'm in a rut ("What's Stopping You" has gotten me through most of these ruts singlehandedly. I've also made other people in my life sit down and listen to that episode because of how world-rocking it is when you take it to heart lol). I hope you guys know how many people's lives you have changed for the better (mine included)! Keep up the great work guys :) P.S. Loved hearing Skizz gush about Zedaph, cause same lol. I absolutely adore Zed's witty-slapstick style of comedy; he's one of the funniest KZbinrs I've ever watched. I know that you guys spent a lot of the episode talking about not wanting to ask people for their time, but if he was ever interested in coming on the podcast, I think he would make a great guest!

I would actually love a podcast on saying "no". Like you said, it's really hard to say "no", but sometimes you have to, or at least should, but feel like you can't. And it doesn't have to be just time; it can be money, or resources, or something else.

They get more exposure to new people that might go look them up after the podcast airs. Free advertising for their channels! It's good for everyone so don't worry or have guilt for asking people to spend their time with y'all 😊 No guilt anymore Impulse 😉

I live in a very s;mall town where taking time to talk to everyone you run into is a common thing. We are a close knit community and share our lives with each other. There are personalities that don't always get along but for the most part we all rely on each other and take time to be a part of our community. Small town mentality is really a thing that those who live in a city don't fully understand (and don't actually enjoy).

One of my favorite parts of my week is getting up at 7AM on Saturday to take my best friend and coworker up to her clinic. not only am I super proud of her for being almost two years clean, but we just bullshit the entire twenty minute drive, and her two year old entertains me while she's in the clinic. we get iced coffee and him a few doughnut holes on the way home, and it just makes my entire weekend start off with a great and relaxing feeling. She told me the other day how bad she felt that i do this for her, and that she should give me money so she's not wasting my time. and i told her, "these are the best minutes of my weekend. you are never a waste of my time. we could be stuck in a traffic jam thats takes two hours, and i'd still enjoy every minute of it."

I do this with my grandmother. I love her to pieces, she's had her ups and downs, but every week I take my kids (her great-grandkids) to see her and spend three or so hours there chatting, playing, and listening her talk about whatever she feels like talking about. We don't share a lot of views about the world or politics, but I don't let that hold me back from spending time with her. I know she won't be here forever, and I want to make sure I spend my time with her while I still can.

I want you to think about this. I have watched every single Podcast. All about an hour long. And I plan to watch next weeks. At that point I will have spent 48 hours, 2 full days, watching your Podcast. And I am not the only one. I reckon there is a thousand of us or so at least who’ve watched every episode of your podcast. That’s 2000 days worth of time. Over 5 years of people’s time people have spent watching this brilliant podcast. And I don’t think we’d say we wasted it. Because this is a brilliant podcast. Think about the time spent watching each one of your videos. A 20 minute video across 1000 people is almost 2 weeks of time. Time people willingly spent with you. People get so down on relatively low numbers on KZbin. But don’t you think that’s amazing?

I come at "time" from a different point of view. Four years ago, due to corporate downsizing. I was forced into early retirement from my career. I've lost one of my parents, both of my sisters, a brother, and my father in the last decade. My BFF for 30+ years, passed away a few years ago. I wish I had someone to spend my time with. So I'm on the opposite side of the spectrum. My point is... Don't miss those opportunities to spend time with people. They won't always be around for you. Thank you for sharing your time with us!

22:30 Podcasts do seasons if they don't make episodes every week, or they take a holiday in the summer and let it tick over then so they have a "last episode of the season" in June, and start the new season in September (or later because they forgot). If you're not taking a break and there will be an episode every week, just number them. Xisuma has been numbering his Hermitcraft episodes since 001, so why not?
@mattks1001
@mattks1001 11 ай бұрын
For organizational purposes adding seasons could potentially help. If someone says episode 121. Off the top of your head, when would that be? But if you do 50 episodes a year (season). That would be Season 3 episode 21. You’d know it’s their 3rd year immediately and roughly a little less then half way through the year. There are positives and negatives to both organizational ways. But I feel when it’s not broken into seasons it can get a little overwhelming. 300 episodes compared to 6 seasons. Now to a viewer perspective, I personally would be more likely to go back and watch previous episodes. The Joe Rogan Experience does it the way you recommend and when I look at his 1500+ episodes. I have no idea where to start. Never watched a single one. It’s just overwhelming (to me) to even try to search that database. I think that’s another reason the seasonal format has become so successful and mainstream in the US. I used the Joe Rogan Experience as an example because he is successful, perhaps one of the most successful podcasts out there. But I personally can’t stand how it’s organized.

This is absolutely true! I teach my kids to value time spent as much as possibl. Example is in regards to being angry or sad. Express the emotion to relieve the source causing it, but don't let it linger. Holding onto something like that too long wastes time unnecessarily when it could be better spent making you feel better or doing something fun or solving a problem. Its worked out well so far!

I think you guys asking people to be on the podcast is a chance for the guest to make memories. Being on the podcast is a unique memory that people are willing to spend their time on! As long as you leave it open for them to say no with no hard feelings, I think it's a great thing to ask your guests! There's quality time with you guys, there's unique memories being made and there's a bunch of positive interaction/response with us viewers!

I am a step father to two daughters. The father is very much still in the picture but his work takes priority often. The younger one graduated middle school last week and everyone was supposed to go out to eat after and he didn't show. It was really tough for her. She just wanted to spend time with him and although it's not life or death he won't get that time back.

The concept of this topic is grasped, the execution of it is a little elusive. Getting to spend time with my husband is very challenging due to him being on the road during the week and talking to him every night. The only time I really get to spend with him is when he is home during the weekend. Usually the day before he goes back out to work or even the day of, we both start to miss each other again.

On my honeymoon we kept getting offered perks if we'd go to the timeshare thing, eventually we got offered $400 cash. I was adamant about not starting our marriage with an albatross around our necks. The guys gave up after an hour or so and calling a supervisor etc. We were Sr the office collecting our cash reward and ran into so many people who actually bought the timeshare and all they got was a discount on jetski lessons or something cheap/worthless. My best friend went 7 months later and *bought* the tineshare....only went back once and lost tons of money..... I win 🏆

But if someone makes me regret giving them my time, they probably aren’t going to get any again (outside of family).

I find one of my biggest issues with Time is that I always want to maximize it. But then I'll look at a task and say, well it would be faster if ___, and I don't have that, and then the task just go undone. I've been trying to tell myself that some things, even if they take more time are still worth doing. An example might be painting your house. It'd be faster if you had a spray gun, but you don't want to leave it undone, so doing it by hand is still important.

I think when it comes to people you should know who you should spend your time with and how you can judge that. How you spend your time watching TV playing games etc is a different ball game altogether. Would you say that playing games is a waste of your life if it's something you enjoy doing?

"Why do these people want to be on our podcast?" you ask. Because it's what Impulse said. Someone they care about asked to make a memory with them.

I think each podcast season should be 64 episodes.

Get xisuma on, too. I think he'd be a good guest. I'm not expecting or even remotely asking for a face reveal btw. I just want to be clear about that.

I feel like there is no way I have watched 47 of these, but I know I haven't missed any. Uptick the season on episode 53. Seasons will match your anniversary not necessarily the year,

I had to stop watching that episode, as the pain in my heart kept getting bigger and bigger. It's really hard to see other people having so many relationships and opportunities to spend time with others, when oneself is struggling to keep one friend relationship alive. It really annoys me but at the same time, I can't get out of the body I'm in. But to all out there having the same struggle there is always hope and it doesn't matter how old you are.

One of the caveats of going to a function and asking "is this worth my time" you also need to ask yourself "who tf am I?" Because 10, 30 or 100 people made the choice to be there...even if topics suck...I work as a professional chef and I used go to functions, conventions and talks quite often because it looks good on the resume...so seeing Martin Yan give a knife skill class, I'm like hell yea...but then sitting through 3 hours of the benefits of vegan water was horrible...and eventually as I got past the still actively work age to the "either retire or teach" age...you wont have to worry being stuck somewhere you feel your time is being wasted because the invites will no longer be there...just food for thought from an old fart 🤘
