I've said it before, Eliot, that you were unlucky not to be selected for the 800 in the original team. just read that Wightman has been forced to withdraw through injury (awful luck for him) and that you have been named as his replacement. In a sense, justice has been done. Get out to Paris, race hard, treating every round as the most important race of your life and you never know. Elbows out - and good luck!

Elliot the running Gods have intervened!! Great news and well deserved. Kerr should have stepped up and ran the 1500m and not be scared to get beat ! Olympics trail have too much at stake for Kerr to 'sharpen' and get involved in the 800m race, when he is not looking at competing in that event. Anyway you deserved to go and now you are !! So you get closure on the last few weeks. Go and have a great experience in Paris. No pressure No limits Impossible is nothing 'Not giving up'

Love watching these videos, really pulled back the curtain on a top athletes experience, good and bad. Also, so glad I followed your advice about moving house recently, having a professional removals van made it SO much easier - especially if you have a ton of work ahead of you! Good luck for the rest of the year and stay positive!

I think giving your perspective on the Kerr thing was brilliant, a lot of the people giving their shitty takes have never experienced championship racing and their only experience of racing is parkrun😂 they don’t know the physicality of the track racing
@craigjackson7775 ай бұрын
Great video, as always. 100% is not your fault. Anyone who thinks it is, has probably never raced the 800 or on a track. And this is no slant against Josh, but he didn't need to be in that race.

Me again, Eliot. British champs? It's called racing! Long time since I raced on the track (at distances from800 to 5000) but it was drummed into me from the beginning that middle distance running is a contact sport. Overtaking on the inside is avery high risk business, sometimes it comes off, usually ends badly. S**t happens sometimes. My last English Schools race, was leading the heat when the guy in second got pushed in the back, he stumbled forward onto me, trod on my heel and ripped my spike off! No blame attached, nothing anyone could do about it. How many of these keyboard warriors that are slagging you off have ever raced in anger on a track in a fiercely contested middle distance race? Very few I would imagine. Ignore the morons!

I been racing 800m longer than Elliot has been alive (a lot longer) and 100% Giles was taken out - I called it immediately and was shocked the commentators were not honest enough. Josh Kerr should have been DQed and was 100% to blame. If anyone says different then they are simply lying. Poor show by Kerr for not publicly apologising - there was no gap and 100% it was risky. I never knew and I find it hard to believe people could blame Giles on this.

I like Giles but no
@SBanderaB5 ай бұрын
@@GrimeyShark really - in every sport, running , biking, car racing.... it is always the person who is overtaking or trying to overtake to ensure it is done safely. I still coach and see it even with U13s, they think because they are overtaking they are in the right and so will move in too quickly and cause a collision - just lack of knowledge like your comment. Just ask yourself would Giles had fallen if Josh wasn't there? [and has nothing to do with the uncertainly on whether he would or would not have qualified]. 100% someone is to blame and 100% it wasn't Giles.
