I think the reason why Prince Porkey does that just as a reference to the Angry Birds Toons series because one of the episodes revolves around Red learning how to swim as he didnt know how to swim in the first place. I guess he knew about this? 😅

I think that the prince porky it's just too stupid to bring the red somewhere else or drown him. But maybe it just supposed to show that pigs are stupid overall? Other example of that is the wizard pig hiding the eggs in forts one by one also doesn't make any sense like why would he just don't bring them all straight up to castle? Also most of pigs are shown as goofy characters like the basic pigs with sticks that are failing to attack and instead falling to the ground. So in my opinion the all stupid things with pigs is probably just to show how goofy and not smart they are.(Sorry if the English is bad I hope you get the point lol)
