I know all licensed stylist specialize in different areas, but if you say you specialize in something results should reflect that and come out well. I don't want to hear any stylist blame it on the client's hair 'texture' as to why they couldn't get it straight. In case you didn't know, one of your followers brought your name up on someone's video. The stylist blamed the client for the way her client's hair came out. Your follower basically said she knew for a fact that the client's hair could be properly straightened because Janay Mickles on KZbin can silk press anyone's hair!! yep those are the SAME stylists that don't properly wash your hair and blame it on your hair. They try to wash it like in those herbal essences commercials then complain when its a tangled matted mess afterwards. My 4A hair loves to stay tangled but when I take the time to wash it properly (detangling and washing in sections) I never have the issues that some of these stylists create.

Is it me or does that stylist attitude seem very anti black? For a stylist to insist that your afro hair texture is difficult means they've bought into the idea that curly or straight hair is at the top of the hierarchy and afro hair is at the bottom. In truth, afro hair is in its own category and should not be compared, treated or styled like hair of other races. .

M. McDade-Allen Girl I was the sammmmeeee wayyyy!!! I finally did it Christmas time because I could tell I needed my ends clipped and I don’t know how. I would say find someone that posts a lot on social media because clearly they love their work and want to promote it. Also go in for a consultation and ask them about their process and what products they use. And also see if their open to meeting your needs. I also noticed hair stylist down south do it better than smaller cities up north (unless it major cities like nyc chi-town etc.) not all the time but enough that I wait till the semester at school up north is done to head down south to get it done 😂😂 Also I asked my hairdressers for extra heat protectant and they also give it to me 👌🏾 another tip is to ask if they do a single pass (like in the this video for ie.) if they don’t you can ask them if they would mind.
@MinMeMcDee6 жыл бұрын
Kanika Haggins thank you for those tips! Ima get around to it one day I hope!

I've done mine exactly the same, however you can have lasting results if you use an anti humectant (anti humidity spray) and I avoid heat damage by using a heat protectant spray. Some products are two in one. Also the stylist did good by not passing the iron over her hair too many times. That helps with avoiding heat damage.

my hair/locs are at the bottom of my butt. NATURAL black hair can grow to the ground and as long as any other race, if we just leave it in its NATURAL state and not perm it or hot comb it. That break the hair off, when the "new growth" come in. The Chemical is what break our hair off, and the hot heat. Our hair wasn't meant to be straighten, it was meant to be the way GOD, made us. KrystalKain It's for the health of your hair and scalp anytime you reduce the amount of chemical processes. And while I see where you are coming from, it doesn't mean she will be pressing all the time. When I was relaxed I rarely wore my hair down. And as a natural I only straighten once or twice a year, but it's nice to get that look every so often

girl you're fine, great decision on your part to transition AWAY from relaxers and the chemicals that damage your scalp and health. Even if you choose to be natural and wear your hair straightened I personally think there is nothing wrong with that. I have a friend that is natural but blowdrys her hair weekly and chooses to wear it straight ALL the time. Her hair is MUCH thicker longer and healthier then when she relaxed. I am natural also but I only straighten for special occasions or for haircuts. Just do what you need to do to AVOID heat damage. She avoids using her straightener, she does rollers then blowdrys and has gotten so good that she doesn't need to straighten her hair.

I tried to blow dry and flat iron my hair the other day and it was a huge fail. Watching this now I see I skipped some crucial steps.

gigglyfitzgirl yeah it never comes out as good at home as in the salon. TheNaturalChic has a video about straightens her hair: kzbin.info/www/bejne/haioq4F6iJqdY6s
@CLoveBeauty6 жыл бұрын
5%LowBattery I used to wonder "what the hell am I doing wrong"!! ...lol. I have recently learned that it's all in the detangling and blow dry technique. And healthy ends. Product dont 100% matter but it's good to use healthy ones. Flat iron dont matter either..though it should be hot enough.

Weirdflower the longest part for me and my girls is detangling, start to finish 3-5 hours (wash, condition, rectangle and style). and although its a blessing their hair is long and I drreadddd wash days for them

That girls shouldn't have been so hard to comb through. Natural hair wearers can get more breakage in the comb. Most stylist try and hurry just because they have more clients booked later
@natashuaprather16566 жыл бұрын
My hair is natural. I used to have a cosmetology license. That stylist could have done more things to her hair to make it easier to comb through. More sectioning during the wash and condition stage
@thejoat54056 жыл бұрын
Natashua Prather in her defense, I've done many blowouts on coily hair and it just reverts back (notice her ends after the blowdry) And she also has a cosmetologists license which means she's very qualified to do what works best for her. Again, beautiful result as always 💪🏾❤️
