I loved your story of removal of the engine, just two friends saving a jewel. I'm glad to follow in your footsteps. Brilliant to see it run on steam keep up the good work

Thank you A.E. Karnes, it's great to hear appreciation of our efforts from fellow steam enthusiasts. These beautiful machine gems can still be great preserved relics of our industrial heritage for future generations to learn from and enjoy. We are very interested in seeing what you have been doing on your channel so we have subscribed. All the very best, Rowan and the team at FISM.

@@forncettindustrialsteammus2992 since everyone seems bent hard at making the world into a technological wasteland, these engines and machines like them will have everything to re-teach us about ourselves in the end. I'll be sure to visit when I am next over....

@@AEKarnes completely agree! It is surely remarkable what the test of time reflects back at us. Hopefully see you for a steam up one day, we have accommodation on site too (cabins and shepherds huts)

@@forncettindustrialsteammus2992 I'd come over to help out more than just see, and that is very good to know.

Interesting to hear how it all worked, didn't expect that kind of system, but it's very clever!

When I toured the Tower Bridge in the mid-80s I saw an engine... I guess it was not this one? One like it?

When you took the engine did you get it for free? Who owns it?

The engine was donated to us on 2 conditions : first being that we would pay to get the engine extracted from the site, and second being that she would eventually be available to the public to view. Our founder Dr. Rowan Francis made the Museum and its entire collection a charitable trust in 2018 securing the future of the collection and to keep them preserved and running in steam for everyone to learn from and enjoy.
