Flashback to 2012. I was very obese, fasting insulin level of 11 and fasting glucose running in the low 120's. My body was fighting against me loosing any weight. Had gastric bypass, lost 100 pounds and now I eat almost keto but with a lot more veggies than most keto people. I haven't had the insulin rechecked, but my fasting blood sugars are always in the 80's and my weight is stable at 100 pounds down. I think what you both are talking about is so needed. Both for people with families from south Asia and others who are insulin resistant.

Listening to this, I just realized that I’ve been nasal humming instinctively to try and calm myself at work. It feels compulsive and now I know why. I’m a nurse. My patients always ask if I’m in a good mood when they hear me humming lol.

You can add to the humming, watch this! 🤪 kzbin.info/www/bejne/lYvXdXRraJekapo

AdaAdi77 I watch the whole thing and tried it too! Totally fascinating. I don’t immediately feel any different (other than a headache from moving my eyes around so much) but I’ll save the video to try it again sometime.

The comments at 53minute mark remind me of what an older coworker Ramesh Bhatia told me when I was working in Mumbai. He said that in India people are more proud of there kids not having to work very hard than of the work they accomplish. They are more proud of the leisure time their children are afforded.

Did I miss a mention of the ACE study? If not, how come there is no mention of THE STUDY that explains chronic disease and a reduction in longevity? 🤔 the surgeon general of California is big on this... also, the nurturing nurses are not a phenotype, but abused (parentified) kids missing autonomy (see this book: Healing Developmental Trauma: How Early Trauma Affects Self-Regulation, Self-Image and the Capacity for Relationship) and there may be a magic bullet cure: try EMDR and, specifically, something created in your neck of the woods by Laurel Parnell: Attachment-Focused EMDR. Since the right brain (the unconscious) is formed by age 3, you need to work there, on limbic system “irritations/impairments”. Even fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome are due to this and curable at this level - for these two, there is a great explanation on KZbin by the Gupta program creator. What is the percentage of “real” genetic diseases such as sickle cell anaemia and cystic fibrosis? 5%?! 10%? The rest falls under psychoneuroimmunology...

Did he just say there needs to be a support group for men who have guilt over teasing girls with PCOS? The men are really the ones who need support here 🙄

I'm a nurse on a busy floor, overweight, probably pre-diabetic, and always stressed about something. I've recently adopted some lifestyle changes (hello CPAP! goodbye gluten!) and I'm looking forward to feeling better. I will definitely put some of these things into practice (I'll try not to ignore my Apple Watch's suggestion to breathe)! Also, Dr. Sinha, West High class of 1999 here!

Interesting... This country and the way it's ran has alot to do with it. Corporate greed being at it's roots and the destruction of the family unit. It's shameful really..
