I'm a librarian and yeah, libraries have really creepy vibes sometimes. Some creepy library pasta feel almost plausible once you've worked in a library haha

I actually really liked this creepypasta; It’s eerie with enough hints and undertones to make you theorise and think up ideas of what’s going on, but it never spoils the feeling by giving you a direct answer as to what’s going on. Makes it feel more real.

I know what kind of room that is, why it was filled with kids toys, why it had kids books, why it could be made pitch black so easily. I’m surprised No children’s clothing or shoes were mentioned, because that’s what I would expect unless they were taken out. It’s a storage room for people, a human trafficker tactic. Can’t explain the dust aside from descriptions mentioned. Sometimes traffickers will hide kids in weird places, sometimes the places are so normal it hurts. You may think kids would be loud, when you’re being trafficked they train you to be quiet usually with accompanying command phrases. Like sit and stay for a dog. Carrot and stick get replaced with more brutal tactics. Trust me when I tell you those are not the only “tricks” those kids get taught.

this was a great creepy-comfy reading. i had the volume a little low because of sensory overload, but the clear dictation and the auto-captions really helped 😊 The Librarian's quiet, unassuming voice is well-suited to these types of stories that seem like anecdotes from the average everyman who is confronted with increasingly unnerving events. *[SPOILERS]* another commenter said that the ending lacks punch after all of the built-up dread, but i don't think punch is necessary here. i think the ending is supposed to leave the same lingering sense of unease that the characters in the story feel. the dread isn't meant to stop when the story ends but to continue with the ambiguity of their future. The Librarian often explains the "creepy-comfy feel" as the feeling of being insulated from outside danger, regardless of whether that danger is real or imagined. i think this story is meant to be creepy, not scary. the narrator mentions several times that they felt creeped out as these seemingly isolated creepy events poked at their bubble of comfort until that bubble ultimately deflated when the comfort of gathering together amidst the creepiness of the break room was replaced with the exposure and dread of facing the creepiness alone. for the narrator and the other employees, everything changes from creepy-comfy to just plain creepy, and the ending is filled with dread for the next time that they each will have their individual break. but for us as the audience, we can still feel insulated from the creepiness the characters will inevitably have to face because the story is simply that - a story.

Also, this person seems either incredibly silly or incredibly sheltered that when they found an office trashed and the door that's supposed to be locked unlocked. Their first thought was that it was a ghost instead that someone might have broken in or a co-worker angry at this person trashed their office
