I can’t believe I wasn’t a Gatlin fan at first. Such a gentleman. I never got that side of him when he was competing. The rise of social media really did y’all some injustice.

Noah is an extremely unique situation where even though he’s the current Olympic & world champion, people don’t respect his wins for some reason. Now Noah does put his foot in his mouth sometimes but the man is a nautral winner. Noah isn’t even the favorite to repeat it’s crazy. I think Noah has the most motivation to win even though he’s the current champ which is weird

The more we doubt Noah, the better he performs. More athletes should take a page out of his book.

He is very desrespectful to his opponents and he is corny, that's why people don't like him.

Just to add some info to the Gents comments around the 60m and Australian races around the 35:00 min mark... It was a U20 and Opens Championships for the 'state of ACT in Australia. It was outdoors so outdoor conditions to be expected. Not every country has the reason (cold weather) nor the interest in sport funding to build indoor centers. Also, 'Lash-lan' ? is a new way to say the name Lachlan. That fella is 21yrs and ran a 10.17 in the 100 in the same competition. The others in that race all have comparable (within .2ish) 100m times. Plus this is the tip of the season down here in Australia, peak of summer. Everyone in the north is just coming out of hibernation while our athletes are trying to peak, of course there's a chance someone(s) with things going right might snatch a quicker time. I respect Rodney and Gatlin but common gents, are you intentionally getting things wrong? Cause it's all easy to find information and you have plenty of it already. Ya'll did not make it feel the same way you'd talk about others with the levity you usually have. The sports trying to grow down here, we need uplift, not pushdown

Notable celebrations from 2024 came from the non-track athletes: Gianmarco Tamberi shaking springs out of his shoes, and Mondo appropriating the Turkish Olympic shooter's (silver medallist) pose. And btw, Rodney, Lachlan is pronounced "lock-lan" where then "lan" sounds like "land" in England.

I am definitely in the same mind set when it comes to comparing young athletes to the great ones of the past. I feel that same way when my fellow Jamaican's talk about Kishane. He has the potential, but he needs to do it before I give him the flowers.

1868 the New York athletic club was formed. I can't remember lil buddy's name, but he and his buds build an ice rink in NYC that was used as an indoor track. They felt that we could complete globally if the athletes had time and a place to train. So, Rodney is correct. It was cold asf and folks needed to train. Anyway they held an exhibition in 1868 then carried on with meets. Back then it was like HJ, and old fashioned standing triple jump, the 800, and the race walk.
@StephanieMason-m7e

And I want to say 1872 is when they shut down the ice rink, got a new building, and built a proper (for those days) indoor track. I wrote a paper on the matter back in grad school

All I wanna say regarding Kishane is I hope people Temper expectations this yr. Yes his speed is there but don't just hand him the crown because you were fascinated by whatever time he put down😅. It's a long season so let's hope he stays healthy and competes throughout the season 👌🏿. Noah is Mr. consistent so I'm more excited to see him showcase his 100/200 m races later on . His 60M is a great build up to them. Regarding my championship pick for this race. I say it's ultimately a toss up with Him, Coleman or Kishane(if they all make it)

@Idontcare-b1z have you heard her on anyone's podcast? If you noticed, she pulled back on even participating in the second season of Sprint. She didn't say one word to the cameras and gave no commentary. She doesn't even barely appear in the training videos that Star Athletics puts out. Maybe seen a glimpse of her twice. Just my observations. Who knows. She could surprise me.

It’s a evolution but at the same time I think the coaches are are putting too much pressure on the young athletes. They are trying to see fast times too quickly and early. I might be wrong but I don’t think you will see too much more from Knighton, Quincy Wilson will not do too much more after high school. I hope I am wrong but that’s how I feel at this point.

There will be no next bolt, Allyson, Tyson, Maurice, Gatlin, Shelly, Elaine et al. These upcoming athletes will be their own name and run their own career. We may compare accolades but we gotta stop the “next” narrative. Puts unnecessary pressure on these kids

sprinters are not getting faster the kids are getting professional workouts and developing way too early this is the new money trend that wasnt there in the 90s and 2000s so you see all the high school and kids records getting broken because all the parents want a super star kid so they push them into professional training. Not sustainable and why the sprint world records still stand outside of the youth records that are broken yearly.
