@@CortezBumf I would expect something similar to autopilot, but I don't know much about airplanes or autopiot. I would expect more of a direct line to a destination, rather than an airport, with no speed limit. If anything is detected within a mile or so the vehicle will begin moving up or down to avoid it. Although landing a taxi on a busy street may be an issue, so perhaps you would need an "airport", or perhaps mini landing pads on top of bus stops or something.

It's not the highways I'm worried about. It 's things like flying next to a house, robbing the place through the window, and people not able to do anything because they are whisper quiet and in the air. That and imagine being by yourself, relaxing, you wake up and there next to you is a police robot with a gun. Or Rogue robot. They don't need a gun, their propellers and moving parts can kill you for sure. Scary stuff, and while I know people are like, that's unlikely, it will still happen. Flying cars are not happening outside the Jetsons. People have enough problems driving in 2 dimensions, that's why airplane pilots spend years in school and can eventually earn huge salaries with enough experience. Planes have mechanics constantly checking them between flights and require huge amounts of special expensive fuel, an ordinary person would never be able to afford any of that. Any tiny mechanical malfunction or fender bender in the air would end in deadly flaming wreckage hitting buildings and people on the ground.

While I agree larger faster vehicles traveling longer distances should travel at higher altitudes, there should also be a flight level in relation to direction of travel similar to the system we have with commercial and general aviation.
