I agree with the Vegan diet argument. I was a in a masters level nutrition class when I first started watching MPJ’s high school KZbin videos and as a Mizzou graduate I almost felt obligated to tell his family that it wasn’t a good idea. This is the first video I’ve seen openly make arguments that his diet is a driving factor for injury exposure.

Jordan im curious where they went wrong did they somehow think he could have the same amount of protein in some other form other then meat
@JordanCarlisle5 жыл бұрын
Alberto David Jr I do think they made a conscious effort to keep his protein intake consistent with a meat based diet, especially once he started playing on higher level circuits and team USA. And Mizzou has nutrition plans for all their student athletes. However, we get a lot from animal products beyond protein. There are also a lot nutrients that help us maintain healthy ligaments and cartilage. It also helps regulate testosterone, whereas protein sources like soy deregulate male testosterone production.

@@JordanCarlisle Interesting....at this point i just think he and his brother Jontays bodytypes were not suited for that type of dietary change so early on both of them they have slight frames for playing both are above 610 but i dont think they weigh more then 220 to put someone who already has trouble building muscle mass and body fat on a diet is ruff sledding to start if it was somebody more heavy set like a Zion or a Nikola Jokic i can see where it could be viewed as more beneficial then harmful but in this instance i just think they focused on maximizing the wrong things for both of them physically

@@JordanCarlisle player's like Bol Bol and RJ Barrett,Cam Cam Reddish who are 208-210 soaken wet should be more geared by their training staffs to build up muscle mass before they install any diet or dietary plans its not all built in the weight room
