Kinda funny how Genesis managed to get a brand identity like 5 years after they were born meanwhile Infiniti to this day still doesn't have anything.

Let's be clear, they had a very robust brand identity back in 2000. So its not like they never had one before.

The only reason I know about the Infiniti QX-30 is because I grew up in Jackson, Mississippi, not too far from Nissan's Canton Assembly Plant, and almost everybody who worked there, one of the first cars they would get with their employee discount was a QX-30. LOL

I don't blame them cause they are beautiful cars and don't have the dreaded CVT that other Infinitis have.

I think it's one of the most beautiful vehicles Infiniti has ever produced besides the FX35 and QX70 Redsport. I believe the QX70 does have an engine option as the QX30 with their 2.0 turbo and I hope to own a QX30 Sport someday. Beautiful from every angle and almost looks like it has a choptop roof. That's what makes it look so tough fr.

I have an old Infinity G35. Love it, never any problems. I am interested in buying a Q30. Sad to learn it’s not being made any longer. INFINITY IS A GREAT PRODUCT.

I think the QX30 looks way better than the GLA. I just seen one in person for the first time earlier this summer at the travel plaza by my town and it is definitely a beautiful car. The fact that it doesn't have a CVT transmission either and a Mercedes 2.0 engine makes it a truely unique vehicle in Infiniti's line up.I believe one day the QX30 will be a collecters car just because the rarity of it and from it being the only time Mercedes and Infiniti Collabed. I plan on getting the Sport model with the Panorama sunroof. The only thing I don't think I'll like about it is the sportseats don't have the adjustable headrest and I've already looked into the infotainment system and they do sell a upgraded aftermarket 10 inch touchscreens to fill in the gap where the old one sits. Great video and you should do more on the QX30 cause I've watched every video about this car I can find cause I want to get one really bad. It's a beautiful car from erry angle.

The people that have them love them. They're pretty affordable, and honestly may fair better than getting the Mercedes version. From a service standpoint, you know Infiniti wont charge you an arm and a leg.

As a QX30s owner, I’m happy with the car. It has never left me stranded and I just surpassed 85k miles. However, let’s talk about some things in that regard. I am on of the very few people who decided to modify the car, we’re talking aftermarket wheels, exhaust, lowering, blow-off valve etc. Because the car sold so poorly, there is little to no aftermarket support for the vehicle. Most performance parts have to be sourced from a manufacturer who originally intended their use on a GLA or CLA. My number 1 absolute complaint with the car is the headlight housing material. It is a very poor quality plastic that cracks and yellows beyond recognition. I am on my second professional headlight restoration. And you guessed it, the only option for replacement is to buy a used unit or OEM from Infiniti at 1500-2000 USD per housing. And they are prone to the same subpar fate with time, so we deal with it.The online community for this car is extremely small, and I only know of 4 active users who have modified the car as I have. This is definitely not the car for someone who is in to the low life/ JDM/ car club scene but it’s what I have and I do love the car. It’s unique!

Infiniti has actually had SUVs since the 90's. They had the QX4 (basically an R50 Pathfinder with a different front end and wood trim interior) in the late 90's (~1996), and then the FX (35 and 45) in 2003 (later became the FX37 and FX50). So they had SUVs long before the 2008 recession.
@BrkDownMedia5 ай бұрын
In a traditional form of SUVs (BOF/RWD) absolutely! But in today’s context of SUVs( FWD/Unibody) not quite. Most people don’t call them Crossovers, even though that’s what they are. Which is why I used the QX50 as an example.
@hk200005 ай бұрын
Infiniti is just "draw a nice silhouette and then fill the void with stuff we find around the Nissan warehouse" until this came along, which replaced "Nissan" with "Mercedes"
@mannym12484 ай бұрын
They should of kept the QX30 even after the collab and put the 3.0 in it with a manual and it would definitely still be a hit cause it's the nicest looking vehicle in its class even to this day tho it's no longer available.

When Mercedes gets into partnerships, they need to learn to pick companies that have technology that they respect and would be willing to use in their own vehicles. The pathway of taking a Mercedes and slapping another badge on it really just doesn't work for either company.
@g.c.brooks72145 ай бұрын
Infiniti has itself to blame. They nuked their brand recognition by nuking all their recognizable models and making everything a Q-something or a QX-something. Their design language is awful, they got in bed with Daimler(the Germans don't play nice) just ask Chrysler and Suzuki, and finally, they let their product lineup rot on the vine. Of course, Infiniti is on life support.
@LoganSLRLockwood5 ай бұрын
I'd say the Mercedes/Chrysler partnership was more of a net negative to Mercedes than it was to Chrysler. Mercedes had some of their worst reliability in the early 00s and didn't really improve across the board until 2008 or 2009. You were flipping a coin with a lot of the cars Mercedes were making prior to this. Chrysler on the other hand gave us long lasting heavy hitters like the 300, Dodge Charger, and Dodge Challenger, which only just ended production. The ML based Grand Cherokee was pretty decent too, as was the SLK based Crossfire.
@markleckband44954 ай бұрын
@@LoganSLRLockwoodChrysler by far in away was worse off after the merger. Chrysler had some of the largest cash reserves in the industry pre merger - which Daimler treated like their purse. Then sold them off to a private equity firm which cost cut them into oblivion and sold them off. They went from an independent wealthy company to circling the drain in a decade.

If they didn't come out with the g35, they would've been done like 20 yrs ago. Infinity is done for cause they didn't capitalize over the last 16 yrs. They couldve done way more if they weren't so out of touch with real car enthusiasts.

I personally only see middle age women drive these things. I like the deisgn but it seems very obvious that this isnt what a lot of young buyers will go for. Also it looks a bit too feminine? I think it would be a turn off for men and some women. Both the Infiniti and Mercedes

I wouldn’t say that, the FX could have been a cash cow for them had it been marketed correctly, their decision to use the FM platform in being the basis for their rebirth was an inspired decision….i truly believe Infiniti’s golden years was 02-10…they knocked it out the park with the first generation G, bionic cheetah FX and second generation M
