Don we still need Flash is Inconsistent 2, 3, and 4, even though 4 may need to be a 2 parter as it’s 3 hours. Also, I stand by that Hartley's firing was absolute BULLSHIT and shows the hypocrisy of this show and its crew. His character's whole story was showing that while people can make mistakes and bad choices in the past, they can grow beyond who they were then. Hartley was fired because of tweets he made a few years before he'd entered the show, racist tweets at that, but still, long before he entered the show. Throughout his time, not only did his character grow, but he as a person showed himself to as well. However, when those posts came out, even though Candice, Iris' actress, did basically the same thing, he was fired because they didn't want to work with him anymore, and ever since then, he's been radio silent. Hasn't posted, never gotten another role. I swear, if he was blacklisted in the industry for TWEETS, I'm gonna lose my mind. Ralph was the best character on the show during his 3 seasons. I rewatched the video and THIS GUY COMPLETELY MISUNDERSTANDS SAVITAR. He doesn't wanna be the fastest, I don't think the really gives a crap about that. The guy wants to live, to exist. Every action he took was to make sure everything would play out for him to survive. Now he was incredibly stupid in telling Frost to do shit that he could've done easily, IE Killing Tracy and getting Iris after HR broke her out, but he's still one of the only villains with a genuine motivation. Blood Work also has one with... well also wanting to live. Godspeed is just an even less interesting Zoom, Cobalt Blue COULD have worked, but he only had half an episode. Cicada 1, he wanted to take out the people who hurt and destroyed his family. That also makes sense... to a degree. He says Thane is the only one with a genuine motive, but that's not really true.

10:52 someone on another video said that obviously since he’s a speedster, it’s almost like they’re a god and can do whatever they want with no struggle compared to someone who is a speedster. so i feel like the downfall was making non-speedsters the main villain, but then again whenever they would do it again, like godspeed, they didn’t do a great job. season 1 is the best season of the entire show and is a masterpiece in my opinion. this reminds me of legends of tomorrow in season 2 when thawne was the villain, *spoilers*, thawne could have un-erased himself from existence like nothing, but obviously since it’s a show, producer’s would have him “struggle” a bit against the legends. he literally made an army of time remnants and instead of going directly for the spear of destiny, i guess you could say he toyed with them for a minute and got to it too late causing him to die by black flash after. 9x10 of the flash was the last good episode of the flash because it completed the cycle from season 1. i highly recommend watching the video “march 18th, 2000” on youtube. someone edited the entire night perfect and will have you emotional.

You mentioned wanting to read some comics, I'll warn you it can be hard jumping in some times. For a first story I recommend the flash #800 'don't come to central city' which is about wally west or the 'Return Of Barry Allen' which is Barry's 'resurrection' having died years prior. Batman is easy, the 'Long Halloween'. Superman should always be 'All star Superman' which also has a movie and the same with 'What's so funny about truth justice and the American way' which is renamed with the movie 'Superman vs the elite.' From there I'd search up online and see what you like, dunno about places to read them online though.

39:00 Exactly Barry has been doing this for what 5 years but he's still in rookie mode. He still needs a Harrison wells and a team Flash to help him figure out how to be a superhero. He still needs a sappy motivational speech to take down the villain in every single fight. The whole point of team Flash in the beginning was to help mentor Barry into becoming the flash. At some point Barry shouldve outgrown team Flash and become his own superhero. The show would've gotten so much better if they had Barry outgrow team Flash. Say after H.R Wells death the team separated and Barry mostly works solo with the exception of Joe, Iris and Dr McGee. Barry creates the A.I Gideon to fill in Cisco's role after he moved to hub city and Dr Cristina McGee is now his resident medic after Caitlyn left.

In my opinion, THE FLASH was incredible from Season 1 to S6A. Eric Wallace did great with Season 6A with the whole Bloodwork/Crisis storyline for me. After that, the show just got terrible. I watched all of the seasons mostly for the fan fare with the cross-over episodes and the characters as a whole. But honestly, the first three seasons were literally repeats of having an Evil speedster with the same agenda and story-line, like can't you be more creative and adapt to change.. Stop setting up the same evil villains to their tropes and bad ways. It was literally every evil speedster in the entirety of the Flash. Reverse-Flash, Zoom, Savitar, God Speed, Cobalt, and it was like.. STOP already, we get it..

downfall imo was season 4. i remember them saying before the season premiered that they were gonna try to lighten the vibe up from the dark seasons of 2 and 3 and that was evident from the start, but not in a good way. it was mostly dumbing down characters for slapstick comedy. then there's making characters like iris, cecile, and even cisco annoying. not to mention the whole *stopping to talk to the bad guy and gets beat up* "omg guys i can't defeat him guys what do i do?' "run barry run" *completely stomps the bad guy out by doing something he could've done in the first encounter* trope was way too old by that point. much like the fandom agrees with, the show ended when barry walked into the speedforce at the end of season 3. i mean think about it he had an arc! season 1 he battled an evil speedster from his past that killed his mom (thawne). season 2 was an evil speedster from his present that killed his dad (zoom). season 3 not only did he create flashpoint, but the villain speedster was from his future WHO WAS ALSO himself (savitar)that was going to kill his wife to-be. it was complete

For me honestly, yeah maybe flash had quite a down fall around seasons 7-9 but me personally i kept watching it only because of the flash and the actors performance as the flash was always EXCELLENT. i also loved the last flash suit. .....i watched the entire show like almost 10 times...

On the whole point of Barry never getting out of his learning phase, seasons 8 and 9 to me makes Barry more independent of the team, and tbh by then Barry and iris were the only two characters I cared about. I’m not sure why but the acting from grant and Candice vs everyone else on the show felt like day vs night.

1:02:28 we are talking about Barry and Iris being siblings. Now I’ve not read the comics but from my understanding when talking to flash fans who had read them, they are combining 2 different versions of the Flash into one character. Barry Allen the scientist, and Wally West the Prodigy. Wally I believe is related to Iris in someway like siblings or nephew or something of that sort. While Barry Allen married the character Iris. So when making the show Barry was kinda a combination of the comic Barry and the Comic Wally West. That is why Iris sucked as a love interest for Barry. Because it’s awkward and Weird since there is no real angle at the Flash, they force the love into something kinda repulsive. And quite frankly, I disagree, I didn’t like the actress for Iris neither. In Season 1 I believe the shows writing did not disappoint when it came to Barry and Iris, even if the characters was a mess. But Iris didn’t really seem like she had any sort of emotion of love toward Barry. Unlike Patty in season 2, Felicity early on, and Caitlyn in the early parts of the show.

In several episodes, they are in it for less than 30 seconds. THAT is all imdb needs to say "yep, they were in it". They would even get credited with being in it if they use old flashback scenes in an episode. What imdb considers a credit is pretty loose.

I'm not even gonna lie, I watched the whole show a while back, but when I rewatched it through your videos I realized just how cooked the show was from the start. It had a downfall, but the fall wasn't very far. You should honestly just skip directly to season 9 and see the difference I also didn't remember Iris being so annoying and almost comically evil in season 1 until I watched your videos

This show got so bad. Cisco getting rid of his powers, just to create a suit that artificially gave him the same powers was very strange. He could've just made a meta dampening ring or something. Also, Savitar said that he turned bad because everyone on the team rejected him because they claimed that he wasn't the real Barry. Everyone accepted K!ller Frost and Kion. They weren't the real Caitlin, but they were accepted by the team, so why wouldn't a remnant of Barry be? So the team could accept the split personally of their friend who betrayed all of them to work with Savitar and who willing worked with Amunet Black and other black market criminals (I know that she was looking for help, but she could've gone to Cisco or something, she has other options), but not an alternate version of Barry who was willing to sacrifice himself to help their Barry?

The downfall definitely started once Eric Wallace replaced Todd Helbing as show runner for S6 and beyond. The show definitely took a dip in quality after S3 but it was still tolerable. Even the first half of S6 is decent but everything from Crisis and beyond got so bad. I’ve never seen a worse dip in quality in a show ever and yes that includes GOT S8. Im still not over how absolutely terrible and cringy it got in those final seasons.

16:25 you see Don, you have not gotten to the point where the Flash/Barry Allen will start taking a backseat in every storyline, not yet anyway. But don't worry, you will get to that point soon enough. S7 in particular is a very low point for the show, but I think you'll start to see the cracks even before that.

I love this Flash downfall video, I stopped enjoying after he went back in time in the end of Season 2. He makes a wonderful point about this in 43:26. Also personally I like Barry with Patty not Iris.

Seasons 1-6 are very good/good/okay, but after that, it's not as good anymore like it was for those few seasons but still watchable. See.... it annoys me a little bit when he ends up watching shit like this because then he either. (A) Never finishes the show afterwards (B) It gets in his head and pauses more than usual to start talking shit anout it. (C) Instead of watching the show completely to have his own full opinion on the show....they get in his head about why the show sucks to them and then he ends up agreeing.
