Remember this is just part 1 of 3 updates for the crews. Basicly their plan is this -> milk people more, as long as you get more money by the remaining players this is still a win. This will increase until the balance shifts. No worries enough people will pay until they see the effects of their actions and understand how bad this was for gamehealth. Also I don't intend to spend my free time in the garage, resetting crews for close to 25hrs. It was fun as long as it lasted.

I was one of the first 2000 closed beta testers. I played this game for almost 10 years. I even worked as an Artist for the Singapore office. I’ve never seen another game or company go from being so community focused to sacrificing it all for monetization so fast. I remember the days when the only premium feature was extra experience and premium tanks that were on par with tech tree vehicles, it snowballed so hard into cash shop hell.

I was also closed beta tester, maybe not first but still. I remember times when hitting two shots with arty would grant you 120k credits or with IV tier light tank you would be fighting X tier battles. IS-4 on IX tier was almost bulletproof, using gold ammo was very rare and you would use it only when you really needed it (often losing a battle was better than wasting precious gold with gold ammo). That game was something else back then, it had soul. Now it's soul-less greedy game that is dying cause of all issues this game has.

i started in 2012 with my $300 toshiba laptop that nearly burnt a hole in my table while running at 30fps on lowest settings however for the 1-2 years i played on that laptop are by far the fondest memories i have with this game. i remember world of tanks giving me this unique feeling that faded over the years. i cant explain what the feeling was except a sense of pure joy after finally unlocking those high tier tanks you wanted for hundreds of battles.

I'm a Word of Warships player, and I have to say, I feel your pain. The recent updates of Wows made the game incredibly frustrating (I could be here all day telling you how the CV rework ands submarines suck). It feels like WG is actively trying to kill these games, and it's so frustrating to see a game with a solid foundation and potential being destroyed by their greed and self-righteousness.

Well said. I was WOWS player too, I started playing it on open beta, I got to tier V with japanese and american tech tree, then I wuit game. I got back recently in December last year. I had to grasp some new stiff, learn again some basics and tactics. But I stopped again after seeing recent changes with subs and CVs. The game is at the same stage like WOT in 2018. Its gonna get waaay worse from now. I had a lot of fun until tier VI but I clearly can see its gonna get way less fun when i go higher tiers. Thats why I quit - there is no sense grinding lines if you are gonna get less fun and only more frustration from it. Tier IV-VI is still fun. But anything higher is just suffering and waste of time for me.

Put that next to CV's changed from a decent opponent to a clearly superior ship type, annoying subs, impossible events that try to force you into paying cus its impossible to do in the time you have for the event. Lots of pay to win ships, the totally not obvious russian bias with the performance of the russian paper ships.

The only thing I wanted out of crew changes was the removal of crew having to grind experience to get to 100% on a given tank. It is highly punishing to new players, and extremely frustrating to deal with

Nah, keep the grind. They've already added enough help for new players with all the bulls**t blueprint nonsense and mission rewards that give you free 100% crewmembers. Started playing this 12 years ago and new players will never know how nightmarishly hard reaching tier X back then was, or even making your tank playable for that matter. Not only having bad crews, but unless you have a premium account you'll need a tier 8 premium to make on average 40k a game even with the premium account. Without either of these you'll lose too many credits. WoWs has a better economy, but still needs reworks on subs. CVs aren't as cancerous as they used to be though.

Same and then i quit WT as well after they nurfed the rewards system Last time i played i was playing the T10m with the object 908 which was really fun and earned me a quit a lot of silver lions but after the nurf i was earning soo less because of the repair costs. I had like 11 million silver lions. And they started going down soo fast because i was earning only almost enough to cover my repair costs. and i was not a bad player i would always get 3-5 kills in each game. All free to play is becoming a pay to play now :c.

That’s how it’s always going to be. Either the game runs out of players or they do something stupid, both have you quitting. No online game is different. Only thing that can change is bots to let you play offline which I think is present, but eventually the servers will close too.

Also started playing around that time, I remember how bad the +3 MM was when the PZ4 had the L/70 and the KV-1 had the KV-2 turret as an option. I stopped playing back in 2016/2017 due to becoming more interested in War Thunder instead of the arcady nature of WoT but even back then the game felt like it was loosing its way. Looking at the state of it now its barely recognizable to me, I still have fond memories of playing with my friend in high school zooming around maps in the PZ1C and other scout vehicles just having a blast.

The thing about this game is that even if you pay-to-win you aren't always pay-to-win enough, there is just too many ways to gain an advantage and that gets worse and worse every year. I bought a Jt 8.8 premium in the past, it was at one point a decent credit earner but in todays WoT it has no chance. The two things it had going for it was armor and rof. Yet in the game of gold spamming and autoloaders, these things aren't special. You have to play it as an assaulter, but you always get super punished for doing so because EVERYBODY is good with trading with you. I wanted to get the Lowe for my sanity sake but I don't want to put anymore money into this game. I'm at a spot where my premium tank sucks and I can't play it, and without one it takes far too long to earner enough credits to progress. This game just sucks all my spirit out of me which is a shame because I use to enjoy it so much.

I started playing War Thunder. While both may be pay to win. I will say there’s no gold rounds each round has its unique factors and not just out right better(as far as I can see now) also the shot goes where I aim and I have to adjust for bullet drop. There’s a lot in the game. While it’s drastically different from WoT I feel like what will happen is some will try it and see that it’s kinda what we’ve wanted in WoT but never got it cause new tier 8 premium. In WoT I feel like a bad player could kill u cause they get lucky when in WT I feel like it’s rare to see it. While WT may not or will not be for everyone I feel like a good portion will find a new home in it.

Most free to play games are like that. Pay with money or pay with time. Honestly WT tech trees I feel has less incentive to rush than the tech trees of WG games. So its really not that bad if one just focuses on having a good time versus trying to reach the end.

can’t really say much about WoT because i have never played it before, but WT isn’t exactly P2W, maybe more like “pay for this insanely cool vehicle that everyone knows and loves before the cool shit that comes with it is gone” the only thing i’ve heard about WoT is that it’s health-based and how there’s this goofy-ass mechanic where there’s premium paid shells that do more damage than the standard ones in WT however, sure you can go ahead and buy the cool and well-known vehicle and get some cool shit along with it if you buy it fast enough, but with vehicles getting divided by battle rating and the game having a huge emphasis in targeting specific components to potentially take out a vehicle in one shot, the new players that pay for premiums could still get absolutely get dunked on even by someone who only uses standard tech tree vehicles And that’s the reason why WT’s monetization system works. It’s because the paid stuff isn’t any better than the free stuff, both the paying player and the grinding player are on equal grounds In other words, you aren’t really paying to win the game itself, but to win the torturous grind that comes with the game

@@pantsshitter533 yeah thats pretty much what ive seen so far. After playing WT for about 4-5 days now I cant really go back to WoT and enjoy it. Theres so many problems with the game that become aparent with the game when you go and play WT. Like u said the gold rounds just having better pen and are more expensive, the health system i use to like but now hate, grinding in WT isnt nearly as bad as being stock at tier 7-9, the premium time in WT is double not just 50%, the crew system is so much better, etc. WoT needs to drastically change if it wants to succeed and thats impossible because 1.) the community hates change 2.) the dev team in incapable of implementing it correctly. The WILL die its a matter of time.

Firstly limiting the number of artillery units to one per site to reduce their impact on battles. Secondly, removing wheeled lights can also contribute to a more balanced gameplay, as they are still overpowered and always will be. Finally, it is important to address the overpowered tanks that are dominating the game and shift away from the heavy tank meta.

They did nerf Arty, we were only meant to get 0 to 1 per game, sometimes 2 if there is a lot in the que, but they secretly back tracked that and now we back to the good old days of 2 to 3 arty per game (Edit: I mean before the "update" to reduce the amount of arty per game) and I still say they have buffed the stun and accuracy in secrete on top of it..

I started playing in late 2011, back when WG was generous with garage slots (got a bunch for free during the KV line split and others). you could even earn premium tanks for playing the game. I got Tupe64, SU100Y and SU122-44 without paying a single dime. I stopped playing after the SirFoch incident. And while I miss the tanks mentioned above as well as my E100 and ST-I, every day I see a new reminder of why I'm never reinstalling this game. rip WoT

i used to play this game way back in 2012, and quit in 2014 for War Thunder GF. Now, ive come back to see what it offered and after recovering my account i found that i had lost about 20 vehicles due to the tree trimming, including some of my all-time favorites like the T67 USA TD. WoT's biggest strength was its casual, almost relaxing gameplay combined with its ability to bring blueprint tanks to life alongside its modular system that could show a dozen vehicles within one researchable entity, if only at the cost of historical accuracy. The game has forgotten that. Many of the vehicles deleted were only deleted to place a bandaid over the rapidly growing grind wall issues, and shortly after we started seeing more nations, bringing the problems right back. So many vehicles cut could have had a firm place in the modern state of the game, if the devs would actually cement the mechanics there. the dynamic of split trees and sub categories (like Sniper TD and Assault TD) could be a massive boon to the game to shake up its combat and turn most maps on their head. Bump up the armor and firepower on Ferdi and jagdtiger, lower their sight ranges and concealment, make them casemate heavies with large HP pools, make hellcats have longer spot ranges but shorter view ranges (an up gunned light tank so to speak)... Last thing ill say: Keep fucking modern tanks the FUCK out of the game. Early cold war BARELY works in any game with ww2 era vehicles, going much past 1958 is a death sentence for balance and fun. Moving from cold war to premodern and now modern with M1A2 Abrams has completely destroyed War Thunder and its community. You think premiums are bad? wait until they have a HEATFS dart that can pen over 400mm of effective armor at any range while they themselves are immune to any AP based round. If the game isnt dying, progressing to pre modern/late cold war will definitely execute this game like a taliban with a camera.

I downloaded the game only a few days after it was released and have played until they were planning to remove equipment and make it cost silver or gold to move (the already free ones) around. There have been no new maps in, I think it's almost over a year at that point. Tanks that were even relatively fun to play against were nerfed into the ground and premiums started becoming bulletproof unless you spammed gold in to the sides or back. The game used to have 30,000 players on weekday nights, few years ago it had barely 20,000 on a weekend. A lot of people came back for WoT classic but that wasn't going to last and it didn't. It's really sad to see a fun game go to waste

I want to thank kajzoo for creating a brief but insightful video on the looming doomsday that is patch 1.20.1 release day. The same can be said for QB. Though his play style and intermittent arrogance on stream are questionable. It's undeniable that he's put a LOT of time into his content regarding this recent mess that WG has made of World Of Tanks. I like how you are an elite player thats not afraid to share with your viewers and fans your methods for success. You're also been one of the most honest content creators of the game and I've always enjoyed watching your videos to improve my competitive gameplay. Ive improved so much through watching your videos and I'm glad you're not supporting the upcoming changes. And neither will I. I've spend enough real currency on the game. I refuse to purchase WOT plus until it's features are changed so that they have minimal effect on gameplay outcomes. I'm also quitting high tier gameplay and purchasing anything in game until the Crew skill changes are revoked and reversed. Because I'm already getting fed up of having to get a degree in WOT mechanics to understand each new feature. Personally the only way for WG to listen to players is to go on strike. Content creators stop uploading. Stop playing. Refuse any promos they offer you and players do the same. Until they reverse their direction before WOT becomes the next GTA online.

I have been playing WoT since 2012 and i really love what the game used to be. I remember the old garage, the old soundtracks when premium shells used to be the biggest problem in game. WoT went down with the horrible crew update. But the devs keep making broken tanks like japanese TDs or BZs even more broken and the fact that when you pay in game you grind tank tiers 8 times faster makes old player go mad because you sometimes see tier 9 player that have no idea of how you actually play the game because they paid to get there. Not even talking about the hell that is being Free to Play in this game that i have experienced until today. Really sad for what's happening to WoT

I got 50k+ games under the belt, but gave up on WoT last year. It just got too exhausting trying to keep up with the latest FOTM tanks and grinding for bond equipment in order to stay competitive. I kind of understand why they want this WoT+. Only thing I spent money on were holiday ops boxes as those and all the free premium days you got left and right got me through the year. No business can work in a way where all of the income comes in one month of the year. That being said, maybe they should rethink the availability of normal premium days so people would buy them instead of inventing these stupid p2p offerings.

How can a company intentionally destroy a game with such a good gameplay loop is beyond me. They can SO easily remove all the pay2win elements and focus on cosmetics more instead, yet they probably lost 80% of their potential players because of how pay2win this game is. They can rebalance premium tanks and make them more of a "this tank has this gimmick but is meh overall + you earn more EXP and gold with it" and they'll be fine, they can then equalize all the ammo types (price wise), make current gold ammo do less damage but keep their pen value, so a nerf, but then you have to think "do I shoot and guarantee a pen but for less damage, or do I try to aim for weak spots and do more damage but risk not penning?". And simply rework the crew perks, limit them to 5 perks per crew member, so 5 levels max which is still a bit of a grind but definitely not pay2win dump money to buy 100 crew books sort of a thing. That's ALL they have to do to balance this game out and HUGELY attract all their lost players back AND THEN SOME.

The one feature I could never bring myself to like in WoT was the whole gun dispersion feature where you could, and often did, miss fully aimed shots just because the RNGesus hates you. imo they should remove rng on penetration. Dmg rng is okay for diversity of each game, if u did same amount of dmg each game, it would get boring. And accuracy rng although i hate it i must admit its necessary otherwise tanks with big guns would be too strong. But the penetration rng is just toxic to every player. Either u penetrate with luck although you shouldnt or you dont penetrate when u should and worst part is you dont even know if it was you aiming at wrong place on tank or just rng (maybe at least add penetration number of your last shell so people would know better why shell did or didnt pen)

My problem with RNG was what I use to call an "RNG token" meaning that there are times when I would simply hit anything with everything while other times I couldn't hit 💩 even with the most precise guns and good crews when fully aimed (and it wasn't just about accuracy) and I noticed this especially during marathons when I would be playing whole days switching the game on and off and changing servers multiple times a day. Simply put: imo RNG would give some players "a good token" and some players "a bad token" and change these after some periods of time or after certain events like game reset every morning or server change etc.

Even though I'm inactive in this game currently, I've been hoping for something like these dynamic battlefield changes and events for awhile. Except preferably alongside fixes to maps that address their biggest problems, and preferably with restored and fair climbs to reward map knowledge. The clips of it look cool, but seem like they might get a bit repetitive. Some immersion-breaking, cherry-red RNG punishment strike the size of a football field that will appear in the same spot every time if the game decides it should happen.

The console version already has some of these points implemented for 2 years now. Crews are limited to 9 skills (9 perks are easy to come by here, if a crew had before the update, you was refunded a portion of it in free xp) Modern tanks added as a seperate cold war mode with its own tech tree and matchmaker. Tanks have balance weights in the matchmaker.

Former WoT console player here, while the problems are slightly different I totally feel the pain. The game became far too play to win and strayed wildly away from its origins to the point it stopped being fun anymore. We had to deal with Frankenstein mercenary tanks that mix and match tank parts (tbh not too bad), anime tanks, animal themed tanks, and a UI akin to a over complicated anime intro. I missed playing old WoT, I’ve been a player since 2014 but stopped in 2021 after they just went off the rails and moved on. I’m here silently wishing I can play the game I fell in love with

Not just that it has centurion mobility, bullshit spaced armor that bounce even tier 10 TDs, medium tank spotting, medium tank camo, and one of the highest HP for tier ten mediums. Literally there’s only one downside on paper being the accuracy, but I have seen clips and gameplay where it rarely misses. I started in BEta, and since then, there was a gazillion of bad decisions, we always complained, Players left valuable comments to the devs, yet they shunned a gazillion chances to steer back to a good game, so I sincerely doubt they ever will. They made enough money, killing it doesn´t hurt them. They were never invested in what the game could be, only in what it would yield for them. It was a quality simulator the moment it went live.

Here's something I haven't heard any CC mention. If the free bond demounting goes through, then T10 will essentially die out. Why play T10 today? Bonds. It's very difficult to make credits. You're facing some of the most annoying tanks in the game. If you get 1 potato on your team you can be screwed, especially if they're in the only light tank. So why play T10 after this? Play T8 exclusively and make credits because you don't need to grind bonds anymore. Am I missing something about T10, because I haven't heard anyone mention this yet.

I remember back when i was 6, i would wake up as early as 2AM to get in some games of WOT before going to school. I miss when I was a high school kid playing this game and loving it all the time. Those were the times. I played on xbox and I was so good at the game without using any form of gold ammo. I see you using gold ammo, I know it is now a necessity.

i grew up with this game and it is very sad to see how it has become now, i hop in here and there during big breaks (we talking months since last game played) to see how are things, the fact that im not surprised about all of this shocks me, since i knew the moment i stepped into this game to some point, WG is going to take my money, and they did. Now im just, watching on the sidelines how things unfold. Its like watching a building really. Wg built it over 10 years of "hard" work, and inside that building is the entire comunity. And now they are striking right at the foundation of said building, making the whole thing go down, and im just watching. A *Shame* really, sorry for the little rant, but felt like taking a rock off my chest

I used to play it on xbox 360, then I swapped to ps4 and played on there, but I stopped playing because it seemed like you'd be lucky to win one or two games in every ten. The amount of times my team would be annihilated in the first few minutes was ridiculous, and this would happen in tier 9 and 10 games. People should know how to play it by then. Forget about playing with friends, near enough every time, we would be lower tier, it's like the developers don't want you to have any fun. Moved on to pc now, and there's no chance I'll be even trying on that platform.

@@kajzoo This is what I want to know.. Why keep it a secret? I spent thousands of hours and thousands of dollars in WoT and WoWs. I stopped playing WoT when italians came out and WoWs when the loot box scandal happened. I'm tired of the greed, I'm tired of them making gameplay decisions off of greed instead of what makes the game better.

I played since beta. Throughout the journey there were some breaks. Few weeks, months, even few years due to IRL, ofc WoT was only my hoby so IRL was priority ofc. There were times when I and my team were literally hooked on it. We used to have practices for first season of CW where we held a lot of territories and gaines reasonable amount of gold (hey, anyone remembers pirates even before FAME was a thing?! :D ). To cut the story short, I stood by it for a long time, even on twitch before weenis started, Daki, kajzoo here, others from FAME and some more from outside the clan... and it was sort of always fun even tho we had huge rng. A lot of people complained it was p2w bla bla no skill required but it's not true compared to other games. Anyway, to conclude, I installed WoT recently again, and, sorry, not intending to sound toxic but the game is dead for us who remember playing it for a win and not "for fun" to quote some noobs from the start. Game is overfilled with not noobs but idiots nowdays. Too many inactives, noobs, all sort of tanks, it just lost all its charm. But, we had a good run. :)

Yeah... I think CW was the redeeming streak where friends would gather to win, play and exchange banter... Sorta like soccer practice. And you were playing against teams that knew what they were doing... But the random matches that was pure chaos. I don't even wanna rememeber!

They've been hiding the pay to win for as long as they could. Now it's flat out, out in the open pay to win. Everyone I know quit playing years ago because we all saw the writing on the wall. Just say goodbye and move on.

Wargaming isn't the kind of company to listen to a horde of people complaining. They need incentive, we need to take action. Instead of fighting with words, we fight with money. Stop paying for the game, or just stop playing it entirely, THEN they will listen. If you spread the word, there will be a small chance that a large scale boycott will happen.

The buffed perks are downright insane, additional 20% to module damage will completely mess the game up since tanks with 150 or even 130mm guns will ammorack, set on fire or knockout crew every few shots..

Well said mate. Guys like you and other popular cc's should get a bit of a say in whats good for the game and how to improve things like map design. Pretty sure a lot of you would do it for free! You're the closest thing to the player base so surely your feedback should mean something?

I have been playing this game a long time. Lately I have found myself playing this less and less. If this patch brings about all these change I most likely will walk away from it. I agree, it does appear that greed has taken hold at WoT and it is becoming a pay to win game. With free to play player having little chance to advance. Well done with this video Kajzoo.

Kajzoo You all said what i had on my mind... The short story about me as a WOT player i started play WOT less than 6 years back so far have researched all tech tree tanks there is... Have all tier X's in garage... Did all missions for obj.260 and Obj.279 (e)... Well ok ok i skipped few missions with the orders... I have played with 590 tanks i aced almost all of them... Because i made a goal... It will be my last goal i will reach... BECAUSE OF GREEDINESS... I was thinking to start marking all tanks after i will finish acing them all and now i guess i will become a FREE TO PLAY PLAYER WOT is free to play after all yes? 🙄 Anyway i was thinking to invest another 1-2 years of my time and 700++ euros... But after PATCH 1.20.1 I think i will become arty to spread the love and good emotions... WG you will loose not only me but i guess 10-20% of community this is QUICK MATH LET'S SAY 10% of players is 1000 so lets take 700 euros 1000x700=700.000 euros... Now do the math with real 10-20% players like me out of all 100% that about 50%+ is playing as FREE TO PLAY PLAYERS how much you will start loosing when the 1.20.1 PATCH Gonna go live?🤑👌WG have fun seeing your online and income like in BETA TEST Times. 😊 WG You don't hear us? Ok you will not gonna hear how we leave the game then... 😁👍

Save some more money and go to Thailand. You can drink a beer eat cheap and tasty food and chat with pretty girls in a bar. You can think about WOT while swimming in the warm sea. I am selling all my tanks slowly playing less and less as this has turned into a shi....show of monkeys doesn't matter what tier you play. Live your life and forget about this game. It will bring you only mental suffering and stress for your hard earned money. WG are desperate when they introduced this patch and remember they will be begging the good players to come back once their game becomes totally unplayable and they will have no players left.

I'm spending not millions on WOT because it's hard to get FOMO effect on me as WG likes to do with people feelings so i was thinking invest little by little until they f everything up with 1.20.1 patch ... But oh well i will come back to check all 3D styles i have and play arty because WG turned me in to dark/arty side... I will spread my love and good emotions on those with premiums especially with the ''RENTAL'' 1million euros TS 54. If what i'm not angry on people who is spending money on the game it's how the game is letting you to do that... How they say don't hate the player hate the game so i hope everyone who will get some love and good emotions from me while i will play arty gonna understand that.
