I am a combat veteran who was activated from the National Guard and also a retired police officer from the US. Pete, you have had some great guests in the past. THIS GUY IS NOT A GREAT GUEST. I have known some who have gotten the "CUMULATIVE DISABLITY PENSION" from Veterans Administration. There are those who know exactly what i am talking about. Lastly what does his friend getting shot by the police after he pulled a firedarm while physically resisting got anythiing to do with this guy??? Next time find better guests.

Thank you for your service. No disrespect , but do you really think you know enough about this man's life to determine if the pension he receives is justified? I mean, you have never met him, you have no information on how injured he really is, How much pain he could be in etc.. certainly not enough to judge, one way or the other. IMHO.

@AcmeRocket Did ever I say I judged him to be a fraud? Where and when? I have pain every day from three deployments (2 in A-stan and 1 in Iraq) and from 20 years as a street cop. I have had physical therapy for years. The cumulative injury disability pension is a legit designation that can get a life time of tax free earning from the VA. It is a complicated process that can take years to adjudicate. I do not know this person but have known may just like him. I knew a guy who used tiniutus to hit 20% rating in order to achieve his goal of 100% disablity from the VA. He has had tinitus for his entire life and this was way before he joined the Navy. He served as a supply clerk at a land locked base. This guy never deployed except for a short stint a Naval Base Bahrain.

Saddest part he said he doesn’t do anything positive or productive which means he brought it upon himself. He can turn his life around but he has to be that change

From one military brat to another, yep, the age old answer to the question 'Where are you from?' Rod, likewise I also went on to serve myself, and yep, life long injuries mainly discs in my back and neck and torn rotator cuffs. Btw, in regards to the loss of your friend, the lack of training amongst US Law enforcement is shocking, and it shows sadly in this example, with seriously poor arrest and restraint techniques. I could go on, but those in the know are more than aware of the shocking statistics surrounding deaths and lawsuits arising from poor Law enforcement across the whole US.
