I deal with mental illness, used to be bullied by teachers and students, but when listening to metal, have never hurt anyone. I think parents need to teach thier kids instead of blaming music, pro wrestling, etc.on thier bad choices. Talk to them, and pay attention to signs they need help.

Same, man. I have mental illness. I've been through abuse, witnessing parents trying to kill themselves, and multiple suicide attempts. The most damage I have ever done was to myself. I dont hurt people. I'm not a danger to society. I am a human being. And I like metal because it makes me feel like I'm not alone.

Hey L My favorite Slipknot song is "Wait and Bleed" that song gets me every time . As for the traveling on planes …..there are more auto accident deaths every year than plane crashes . The plane crashes mentioned here are the tiny planes that have limited weather information on them compared to a passenger plane like United Airlines ( to name one ) …..and the fuel issue would not even be a factor on a commercial airline . There are certain regulations that commercial airlines Must follow that smaller planes have been known to take risks on . I can only speak for me I have not ever let any form of transportation hold me back from going anywhere . My mother taught me when I was a teenager if I limit myself I will surely limit my future . I am not saying anyone should do something they are against but if anyone sees that they are just afraid to do something and there is not some "other reason" for doing anything their hearts want …..conquer that thing . Much appreciation for your reaction here L .

Metal fans care about other people. You know that I end most of my comments with "Peace and love." And I mean that to the core. I wish nothing but peace and love to everyone. Peace and love

Another one that should be on that list is what happened with Bad Wolves during the recording of Zombies. They were part way through the song and had already negotiated with the lead singer of the Cranberries (it was their song from the 90's that was being rehashed) Dolores O'Riordan for her to sing in the song. She boarded the flight from Ireland to Los Angeles with the goal of being at the recording studio the next day. While the band were tuning instruments the next morning, they got the news... Dolores had a major incident over the Atlantic and had passed away. They still made the video and honored her greatly in it, but they also gave all the proceeds of that song to the family of Dolores.

12:00 yea their shows were pretty rough. Ozzfest 2001 was pretty scary when the whole crowd starts moving like the ocean. Some people got trapped on the floor and trampled on. A lot of ambulances waiting after the show. I hate it when people are like "just stay out of the mosh pit." Dude, their shows were a little different back then. Some were chill. But some shows the entire crowd turned into a mosh pit.

And one of their former drummers Joey Jordison died two days ago 7/26/21 at the age of 46. They said it was in his sleep but I am skeptical. I heard he had lost enough function from an illness that he could no longer do his first love (playing drums) so it's plausible that he could have taken some pills and gone sleep. I dunno.

EDIT#2: The clip of Larry King interviewing Corey reminded me that you should definitely check out that video as well. at first I was going to say, "if slipknot is staging an intervention for you, you _know_ you have a problem".. and then.. "an overdose of fentanyl , morphine, and xanax.." how the f do you not over dose on that combo? That sounds insanely dangerous.

The lethal dose of fentanyl is a lousy few micrograms. you can't die from Xanax alone, as it has a chemical in it that makes you vomit in large doses, also Morphine is a hundred times weaker than heroin, not likely to kill you unless you have compromised lungs, Fentanyl is a fucking stupidly strong version of an opioid, the fucker who invented it should be shot!

Plane travel is still one of the safest ways to travel. Look at how many flights happen per year compared to how many accidents, especially fatal accidents.

The loss of Skynyrd didn't just change or end the band, it altered a generation. They were a monstrous loss to culture itself, many of their songs are still played today and will bring many a Vietnam vet to tears. They died before I was even alive and I KNEW they'd be on this list.

Metal can definitely put you in a dark place, I used to be a slam metal vocalist but I had to stop because I didn’t like the mindset it put me in

I know how multiple sclerosis is. I suffer from severe primary progressive multiple sclerosis. It just keeps getting worse and worse, and all of the work and treatments I've done with my neurologist has barely slowed the progression at all. I'm 35, and I can't get around without a walker.
