Touring, merch, and royalties from album sales is where bands make their money, and believe me...they made A LOT of money. So does the record label, but the record label is also taking a gamble with their money. There are a lot of bands that just go nowhere for any number of reasons. It's for this reason that so much trash music sounds exactly the same. Because record labels don't want to gamble, they just sell people the same shit they've been eating for years and they love it. They even try to get bands to try to gravitate towards the sounds that produce money. Which is why you see so many bands start out sounding fuckin awesome, then eventually sound like absolute overproduced radio rock trash. Stars are no longer discovered, they're crafted. And they all play in the tune of $100 bills.

I have so many friends who have been sexually abused. Almost like 50% of my friends. I have some trauma too so with people like that you just automatically click. You have an innate understanding of each other’s pain that’s hard to find with “normal” people. I’ve seen that sort of abuse absolutely destroy people. One of my friends that dealt with it died by suicide. Another hit rock bottom with drug use. It’s dark and has such a lasting effect. Trauma hits you so deep especially when it starts when you’re so young. I can’t blame my friends or anyone else for how they choose to deal with the pain they’re drowning in. Much love to anyone that reads this and is in a similar place. You’re not alone ❤

The reason so many opiate addicts die after the relapse is because while they are clean thier tolerence drops but being an addict they take the same dose they used to before becoming clean and the body cannot handle the dose. Also it dont matter if a doctor prescribes them or not addicts will find thier fix.
@savanahdahlsten31495 жыл бұрын
VapeKing you are 100% correct its how Janis Joplin died!
@highhopessince9225 жыл бұрын
I agree addicts will find their fix either way but if doctors are prescribing meds that can be abused and cause death then they should really know better then to give a patient them if they KNOW they're a known drug addict. Doctors really should be better trained and equipped to spot "red flags" that may be a sign of a patient having an addiction. That way there's less of a chance of these drugs getting in the wrong hands AND that way they can give their patients resources to get help with their addiction. And I'm a recovering addict myself so i speak from personal experience.

Great documentary bro. I was unaware of the fact that the entire band struggled with substance and alcohol abuse. Crazy thing is vol 3 is my all time favorite Slipknot album. The ecoterical lyricism from Corey got me drawn to metal even more, this album has a special place in me as a music head. That being said, I'm so glad that the members of slipknot are in a better place in their lives. This goes to show you that something tragic in your life has to unfortunately happen so you can learn from it and therefore be more humble and compassionate. Clown said it best: "the word "I" is the most satanic word in the world, and you will only focus on me me me. Music was always a we thing to me, I never wanted to play music for myself.” Damn man that shit is deep. To all those struggling with abuse, keep moving forward and don't give up. One step at a time.

I always see posts on Social Media with people saying things like, "Slipknot isn't real Metal" or "They just wear masks to hide the fact that they don't have any talent", and I just don't understand that, because they never take the time to actually do their research about this amazing band, and what they went through to get to the point that they are at right now. Slipknot is the reason why I got into Metal in the first place, and their music helped me through thick and thin, that's why I have so much respect for them.🖤
