The sick "parents" from the "Daddy O Five" channel actually appealed to ABUSERS, and were getting a ton of views from other sickos who were into seeing children be traumatized, hurt, embarrassed, and crying. I believe that all 5 of those kids should have been removed from that house, not just the two most targeted for the humiliation and abuse.

What's crazy is a family channel doesn't even necessarily need to show the kids. Two great mom influencers are mommycusses & Tori phantom, they have family related content but limit how they show their kids or present their kids. For example, mommycusses' oldest daughter is old enough to understand & consent (they're like 15/16?) but she acts out her littles, I'm not sure she's shared either of their voices online

@@TornadoTrick The channel still exists today, I originally thought they were an alright channel compared to others like 8 passengers and the labram channel (I think that’s what their channel is called). I agree with the fact that they did use the 1st letter of their last name in their channel name, I honestly believe that they shouldn’t have used it, mainly because it gives away the kids’ full identity. The parents obviously didn’t ask the kids if they wanted an initial of their legal last name in the channel name obviously because the kids were very young and didn’t understand the whole KZbin business, and what the kid were getting into in the future. The oldest kid is only 14 so he won’t be free of this torture until either 2027 or 2028. I have noticed something in their vlogs that’s odd, the oldest kid isn’t present in much thumbnails or video footage… I have a feeling the oldest kid got tired of having a camera in his face all the time. Another thing I’ve noticed from their vlogs is they’ve made their youngest child the spotlight in their own way, the youngest is present in mostly every video and shown in every thumbnail, there’s not one video without her (aside from the ones that were made before she was born) the parents have vlogged her from the moment she came out of the womb…..

It's a whole thing, with another woman involved and a long story, but it goes to show how "just a little" abuse seen on a family channel can be a whole ass ICEBERG of abuse in reality. Ruby insisted she was doing what is best for her kids and shut down her channel, and it seems to have only worsened her abuse. Imagine how many of these families are hiding abuse off camera, and there is nothing anyone can do without concrete proof.

Whenever my parents asked me to be in a photo (even in public where I have no expectation of privacy) and I said no, they always respected my choice. I wonder how many of these young children also express that they don't want to be on camera for youtube, only to be coerced into it by the parents that they depend on to survive, leaving them no real choice. I also vaguely remember a video years ago where a family channel announced that they were no longer adopting a foreign child because of their laws that would have prohibited the family from posting photos/videos of the kid online for the first year of adoption. One of the WORST I ha e seen is The Dougherty Dozen. The parents have adopted a bunch of kids on top of having biological kids totaling 12 kids! Every child they adopted has FAS. The parents drink! Alisha (mom) has talked about needing to hide her White Claws because they were disappearing. She claims she’s stopped drinking, but anonymous family insiders say it’s a lie. She does shopping hauls for groceries and just feeds these kids junk food. These kids are forced to work constantly and are signed to LIFETIME contracts with a convicted conman that’s scammed other entertainers with predatory contracts. These kids entire lives, medical issues, private issues, schedules, layout of their home is all over her channel. There’s been dangerous incidents that have happened as a result of the channel, kids have been bullied horrendously both irl and online. She exploits the one set of siblings that are attractive teens to predators knowingly with her content. The girl sibling has become very depressed, wants out of that house, refuses to film. Those sibings mom has been very vocal about how Alisha legally isn’t allowed to film them. Their mom allowed to take the siblings on a temporary basis while she gets clean It’s a very concerning situation for all these children because Alisha is extremely vindictive, fame hungry, selfish. The laws really need changed! 😊

The Hart family was pretty bad too. 6 adopted kids starved and abused to perform for the camera. once CPS started looking into things they packed up the kids and drove off a cliff killing everyone. The Turpin family as well were big bloggers, everyone thought it was such a great family and they renewed their wedding every year in las vegs, only to learn that 1 time a year was when the children were allowed out of the house and were kept in a filthy house and often restrained (they even leased the girls to wealthy men and you know what i mean). 8 passenger's mom finally got arrested for much the same. and that one where they adopted the most disabled Chinese baby they could find (they specifically asked for that) and then used the adoption processes for views and 'rehomed' him about a year or two later saying he was too much to handle (the kid was like 3 years old). I don't think I've ran into a family vlog channel that didn't have very concerning things going on

The Dad would make the 2 daughters dress up as babies (I'm not sure exactly how old the girls were but they definitely WERE NOT little babies, they were probably 7-10 years old at the most) and also other weird things like making them eat baby food and they'd spit them out, suck on pacifiers and make babyish noises. KZbin (thankfully) took the channel down, as due to the content there was definitely a high chance these videos were being watched by the wrong kinds of people. The Dad put out a statement that those weird kinds of people weren't the target demographic of the channel, I'm not really sure he was trying to exploit his children so he could get money from creeps on KZbin, but then again, even if that wasn't his goal he probably should've known better

One thing that tends to go under the radar about Daddyofive is how they used the channel to convince their children that they were famous KZbinrs, which implicitly would have made them more enthusiastic about uploading videos where they were depicted in compromising situations. In their infamous “blocking all the haters” video, their youngest kid Alex admitted that he was embarrassed by one of their older videos of him freaking out, but his parents promised him it would get a lot of views, which encouraged him to give the OK to upload. He took the fact that it got a lot of views in stride - the parents effectively got him to care more about views than whether or not a video of him crying and having a mental breakdown would bite him in the back in the future - not that he would have had any concept of it. It’s on the parents to make that determination and they failed spectacularly. I fear this could be a trap other family vlogging parents could fall into, whether on purpose or by accident. The path to hell is paved with good intentions, right?

this makes me wonder about the Benson Brothers that I see a lot on Facebook...the kids seem to have a lot of fun and the games are great but I wonder what happens behind the camera

I would go back in time to prevent Daddy O Five from making a KZbin channel, but it’s a canon event.

This video reminded me of sis vs bro because the girl (can’t remember her name) spoke out about how she didn’t get any of the money she made while doing that channel and how her parents were making her do it I think?? I don’t remember all of it I saw it online a year ago. My bad just wanted to share that😭

Whenever I see a family channel (be it with kids or worse, without kids) I always assume the creators to be huge nonces since they must know that not only kids will be watching those videos.

Family Fun pack: The youngest three kids were monitized since birth. All of the kids were pulled out of school because they didn't have time to do both film and go to school. Parents have another baby when their youngest is no longer a baby. The baby is the star and the older kids become background characters. Their posts are seemingly clickbait.

the skit "comedy" channels are horrible in another way. the children follow an idea of comedy pursued by one of the parents, not developing any personality indicative of a separate identity there have been a few clear npd parents who rope their spouse and children into self-deprecating "humor," creating these highly toxic caricatures for the family members who become nothing more than props. One or two videos will seem funny making them explode in viewership but if you watch more than a few, you start to notice everything is driven by and centered around one person. Often this is self-depracating wherein the members are making fun of or mock hating the lead parent. To foster such a personality in a child over a delcade or more is so toxic. They get no choice because from a young age they are taught that this funny.

I heard the other day that Germany has made family vlogs illegal. I don't know if there's any Germans in the comments that can confirm this. Anyway, they should be illegal.

Yeah, I’m not recording my niece and uploading it to KZbin. I used to watch Skylander Boy and Girl before their videos were deleted. The experience throughout… Even when I enjoyed the videos, it was painful.

There's a difference between parents filming occasional clips of their kids in their natural element and using them to make money. If I had a kid who was playing FF7 classic on PS1 and filmed a couple battles, it'd be kind of a bonding experience in some respects because it's nostalgic for me. Obviously the kid should be aware and know the risks of uploading online, and the exploitation for views and money is a big no-no in general, regardless of age.

These channels and videos always come off as narcissistic parents who are like gods gift along with their kids
@nevaehhamilton3493 Жыл бұрын
That's because that's exactly what it is; narcissistic parents flexing about how awesome they think they are. They see their children as mere extensions of themselves instead of individual human beings. They see them as objects, toys to play with, and a way to make easy money. They're essentially pimping their kids out to online predators at this point.
