On the Jack Maynard scandal, I have an issue with people canceling people for old (like 5-10+ years) tweets. Because canceling that person for something a much younger them said is basically saying "It doesn't matter how much time has passed, you have zero capacity to change, grow, or learn" which is highly toxic and just leads to further radicalization on all sides because if the people will always be as bad as whatever their 14-17 selves said and did, then what's the point in being open minded and trying to learn right? Because you, according to the cancel culture, are your tweets from 5-10+ years ago and nothing more. It doesn't matter if you're an activist now, because you were a bad person then, and that's all that matters. That is dangerous thinking. Like, yes, it's bad to send those tweets and stuff, but consider how old the person had been, how long ago it was, and ask the person if those tweets are still reflective of their views. Chances are, the person will say no.

about the BoyInABand situation As of right now what he did is purely alleged to my knowledge, every single girl that came forward is completely anonymous, with their word being a single thread on reddit, The word "Proof" and "I have proof" is mentioned so much in that thread despite the fact none was ever shared (And the proof that is tossed around of certain events referenced was found by other users and not linked anywhere in the thread along with some very easely editable screenshots) the entire thing is still a possibility but it's also almost as likely that it could have been done by one or a few people who just followed him for a while BoyInABand has been completely isolated from the internet for years at this point for mental health reasons so him being silent on this is expected (though I wouldn't mind him coming back just to address this if someone else tells him or he finds out himself) but yeah as of right now it's too early to reffer to serious stuff like this as fact when it's mostly alleged

There were stories about fans being taken back to hotel rooms at vidcon etc. and I'm sure one guy went to prison for contacting underage fans. I was most affected by the revelations that Alex Day had been coercing his friends, mostly small women creators, into sexual relations. His flatmate, Charlie McDonnel, had to come out and admit he knew Alex had been cheating but not that the girls had been unwilling. Probably Gen Zs don't know who either of these guys are now but Charlie McDonnell was one of the biggest KZbinrs back in the day before Pewdiepie arose as the biggest creator.

I'm still not against I'm a Celeb bringing in online famous individuals but the removal of Jack was a bit too heavy. He was 17, it was back when we used the word fa***t, retarded and the n word freely. That was just foolish. Everyone's done dumb shit we aren't proud of. Can we have a chance to prove we've changed instead of this bs? Yikes. I'm certain some of those c list celebs have done similar cringy shit

How about another folklore video? I like that kind of thing, personally.
