My dad loved George Jones and played with him and he never had a bad thing to say about the singer. He was always willing to help new country artists get started. Truly he was the only one of his kind and his music lives forever.

I must agree with George about modern country music. I know that I am not alone in this opinion. George Jones, Conway Twitty, Merle Haggard, Ricky Van Shelton, George Strait, Charlie Pride, etc. This is classic country music that many country lovers long for.

Maybe he quit because he's dead. How stupid. He played until he died.

Everything you state here is already in his book, “I Lived to Tell it All” if it isn’t in his book you’ll find it in Tammy’s book, “Stand by Your Man” or her daughter Jackie’s book, “ A daughter recalls her mother‘s tragic life” or Georgette’s book, “The Three of Us” Actually a single car accident that happened on March 6th 1999 was the real reason George made up his mind To never drink again. Nancy, however, did encourage him along the way.

Well, I saw a movie one of those movies made for TV programs about a lot of country music artists and I saw one of Tammy Wynette called standby your man the Tammy Wynette story, and there was a scene, of course where he shut up the house he was on the ground outside when he was getting off his lawnmower, they helped him upstairs to his room and All of that and then he took the rifle and busted up everything in the house knocked things off the wall even broke the glass on that cabinet that they had upstairs and also did shoot and bust up everything in the living room almost and of course he says he didn’t remember doing that but when he came home from the hospital he did see where it happened so yes, I believe he did do that. My favorite songs by George Jones I have a few he stopped loving her today. She thinks I still care. She’s mine walk through this world with me I’ll share my world with you tender years and the race is on, but I love all of the songs, but those are my favorites 12:02

I don’t think country music is as traditional, like it used to be, and it is too, Poppy. I love this song where he sings that he’s not ready for no rocking chair and he still loving her today and many many more. There will never be another George Jones just like there will never be another Conway Twitty. I also believe that George did chasers through the house as a shotgun and beat her up, and she made up a story of being kidnapped, so George would not go to Jail.

That occurred after her divorce from George Jones, and while she was married to George Richie.

why must you scrutinize these country stars so? what are you doing that is contributing to the amazing legends of country music? these stars worked harder than you ever will and have acheived what you wish you could. give them a break. No one likes a Gossiper. keeping it 100% Man

I have to appreciate George's statement...They aren't country and need their own title...However, one never knows what demons had George all those years that he found himself turning to the bottle.
