Shadow the Hedgehog isn't mature. It's just try-hard edginess which makes it feel like something a middle schooler wrote. It comes off as laughable because it takes itself so seriously. Battle on the other hand, there's nothing funny about that last scene. When it gets serious, it gets serious. When it gets dark, it gets dark. There's no question about that.

He's not the kind of guy that would do that. He tried to deny it to Emerl's face throughout that entire last scene and then put on a brave face for everyone else. I bet he went off alone after that and that's when he let his real emotions out.

@@bippythechippy882 aside from silver and blaze since you mentioned them, they could add vector, espio, and charmie. since its a spin off they could also add returning villians like the lost hex's or returning companions like chip from unleashed, there are also a few new sonic characters from the IDW comics they could add aswell. While im not able to give a massive list, there are plenty they can add.

(for those who dont get the joke, its a crack at forces for having supersonic in the data files but forcing people to buy dlc to unlock him. they backtracked and its free dlc now, but the intent was there.)

There was a super advanced hack of Little Fighter 2 that did just that and very well. But the creator got so upset with people ripping original sprites that they basically turned the game into spyware and now it's wiped off the internet along with the creators accounts because the victims reported all this to SHC.

Emerl is easily my favorite Sonic character. He's a blast to play as, has a really solid design, has customizable colors, and he really is just a fun character. I always wanted to see what crazy stuff could be done with him in a different kind if sonic game. Maybe a remake of battle with more traditional elements and less repetition. It could be fun.

Good stuff, man. The jokes in this one were really on point. I always find myself really enjoying these scripted videos of yours. Sonic Battle is a game I both love... and really, really hate. I think the idea of a Sonic fighting game could be really fun, and Sonic Battle came the closest to truly realizing that concept, but it falls short in so many ways. The combat is kinda barebones, the special move system is... _interesting,_ but also really annoying, the the one-shot meter was a very poorly thought out mechanic, and some of the missions in the story mode are downright absurd. That said, I still go back to Sonic Battle from time to time, and I can still have fun with it. I just think it has a lot of untapped potential. I think it’d be great if they made a Sonic fighter that played like Power Stone. Heck, the Power Stone mechanic would be right at home in a Sonic game, just bump the number of gems in a match up from three to seven, call them Chaos Emeralds, and there you go. But y’know, that’s probably not gonna happen any time soon...

I'm glad you liked it! I was a bit hesitant at first about some of the jokes, and I wish I could have had more nice edits in the latter half of the video, but being in recovery as I am now, I was extremely burnt out just getting this video finished at all. The game is really interesting. Like I said in the video, I liked it for some reasons, disliked it for others. I wish they'd take another stab at something like this. A true 3D port of this game with real cutscenes and Voice acting would be even more emotionally destructive.

That final battle between Emerl and Sonic REALLY showed off how powerful and scary Sonic can be. Like imagine fighting against a weaponize robot with ALL 7 seven Chaos Emeralds, ALL your guys movesets enhanced to a T, 4,000+ years of combat experience, and just to add in more pressure you have 30 SECONDS til the earth gets blown up! And Sonic defeated him with ease. Such power...

The Movie Lantern - it is an RPG so there should be some kind of grinding involved, however I won’t lie it does seem that the game increases its difficulty quite cheaply in some places. (it is a small game too, not exactly a few weeks / month to complete, unlike other games, unless you’re super bad or whatever idk.)

The first time I finished this game I'm pretty sure I cried for like an hour at the bare minimum. Tails even mentioning that Emerl could come back has made me EAGER for his return... my son, he's out there... kind of... There's a thousand and one ways they could really swing bringing Emerl back, they really could if the wanted to... but nobody remembers sonic battle... so they won't pull a Shadow on him and revive him for no good reason... maybe it's better this way, but I can't help but miss him

I know I’m late, but man, Emerl. What a great character. The last line when he says “am I going to die..?” killed me. I stopped right there to breathe. This game surprisingly has a lot of emotion and and great story, despite some things not making sense lore wise. I also really liked the part where it’s said that Gerald somehow replicated Maria’s SOUL and somehow programmed that into Shadow and Emerl. It led to Shadow poetically saying that he’ll always have a part of Maria in him. I’m also now an Emerl fan. I’m so glad I got the chance to play this game recently for the first time. The battling system can be tedious (REALLY tedious), but all in all I enjoyed the game. And again, that ending really got to me.

Fun Fact! Emerl appeared in Sonic X, and was similar as Sonic Battle, since he was also able to copy abilities. His death was also heartbreaking, because f*cking CREAM had to beat the ever-loving sh*t outta him, and the last ability he learns is how to cry. 😭😭😭

Ah, This was back when Gameshark Codes were a thing. xD I remember getting the codes for 999 Skill points and putting Ultimate Emerl on Memory 3 slot. (Thing is for some reason, He can't use the Ult. Jump Skill properly. but equipping Amy's Double Jump makes him use it twice and the Ult. Air action is broken...Infinite Jumps.) R.I.P Emerl. People like to say sonic games dont have good writting but they always overlook games like Battle, Secret Rings, Black Knight, Adventure 1 and 2, Riders, Zero Gravity, Unleashed.... You get my point.

I mixed up Emerl’s skills (Sonic’s run, Shadow’s dash, Cream’s flight and healing, etc). I liked that Prof Gerald’s journal entry match the moral of each character’s arc. It took time to get all of the skills I wanted and once I had them, I always want to be Emerl for every fight. Before then, I’d prefer to be the other characters.

Sonic Battle was an okay Sonic the Hedgehog-related fighting game, but the virtual training was pain the butt and the only way you can use all of Emerl's ultimate skill cards is by using Game Shark and that sucks. And by the way, Emerl's name is pronounced "ML".
