as bad as i feel for wings, he has so many chances to help himself and get help, a friend spending 5k on a shower just for him, cooking his food, and helping him workout is something others would kill for. a man unwilling to help himself is a man who cannot be helped.

If I had a friend like Kyle I would have lost weight ages ago. He was completely there for Wings and Wings didn't care one bit for all the generosity that Kyle gave him. One thing that people lack when trying to lose weight is motivation. And I know you have to want it, but having someone there for you is a lot of motivation.

He acts like my older brother who has autism. Not tested, but he shows other obvious autistic habits so definitely has it. We were all abused by our evil parents. So, an autistic person who is also abused is not going to handle things well... And my older brother acts EXACTLY like this guy. Probably worse as my older brother would not just throw controllers and shit when losing at a game or be mocked, but also would pin me down and strangle me, kick my dog, etc. After I escaped I cut off contact with him. Also, the people bothering this guy are bullies, not "Trolls." Trolls try to be funny with dark humor, these guys just are trying to hurt this guy. And it can make you quicker to anger when you've been so emotionally and verbally abused/drained you can't take it anymore. It's hard for me after I've been stalked online for 3 years by this creep and her goons who cost me my job by calling and emailing the school threatening to go there to kill me. I've had to change my name, move, etc. And, yeah, a few times I did snap at them for the constant block evading, death and rape threats, the disgusting lies, etc. But police are now involved and someone is looking at a year in jail, so.... ^_^ www.watchdominion.com

I feel like the amount of people who feel bad for wings don't realize the extent to which people went to help this tub of lard and every time he gave up, squandered the help he was given or down right refused it. The FPS boot camp is a prime example. He had a great friend who went above and beyond to help him.....dude wanted to write w few days after arriving, it took Kyle begging him to stay. Then there's the survival trip, yea it would have been hard for someone in his shape but I doubt they were going to do anything extreme probably just walk a half mile into the woods, make a fire and eat some food but instead of getting out of his comfort zone wings bailed at the last minute and ruined his friendship with the only 2 people they actually tried being friends with him. I bet he wouldn't have even told them he went coming if kyle didn't fall him, he's just a selfish prick and now I feel bad for kelly she got dragged into this waste it spaces life and he's pulling her down with him

@@thedoge9590 You talk about "kNoWiNg hIs StOrY" then you bring up *Kelly* as if SHE'S some kind of victim? Bro, she was cheating on him with his DISCORD mods. Yeah, Wings is uncool but NOTHING justifies that, period. If she wanted out of the relationship, she should say so. She doesn't, she realizes that she's just as ugly and fat and socially-inept as Wings is, possibly even moreso because she can't even hack it as a streamer herself, so she stays around Jordie to leech off his stream money instead of getting herself a job because she's literally too out of shape to work one. Wings is too but at least he straight-up admitted that already. Kelly isn't some poor, innocent little victim in all this. She *chose* to marry Wings because she wanted to live off of a streamer's money and only realized AFTERWARDS that not all streamers make the same big bucks. They deserve each other, one's a crybaby and the other's a useless leech.

Damn this reminds me of how I used to act 2 years ago. I grew up with my own childhood issues, and it gave me the mindset that the world owed me for the upbringings I had and the trauma I was given. Eventually, because of that mindset at 17-19 years old, it ended up hurting those that I love. I was diagnosed with bpd and all that, but I still don't believe that it's an excuse for my narcissist and abusive ways. I had to find out the harsh reality of my own actions and accept that my actions are the reason why I was digging myself in a deeper hole. My ex is the reason why I'm taking my treatment and therapy seriously, and we work together on making our friendship strong. In a way, I see the old me when I see these breakdowns from wingsofredemption. You've got to open your eyes one day and realize that you can't blame the world or anyone else for your ways. You've got to be the change and understand that making up excuses and pushing people away is only going to make things worse. Accepting responsibility is difficult, but it's one of the best things I've ever come to accept in my life and I feel like my life has improved massively and I've become to be more grateful for my ex who went through hell because she cared about me and the fact I have the chance to make things right and treat her the way I should've in the beginning, is honestly one of the biggest things I'll always be grateful for. Otherwise, no matter how angry you are, how much you yell, thow or break your own shit - it's just comedy to them. And like all comedy, they're gonna want to see it at any moment. The last 2 years of my life have been the absolute lowest pits of hell I’ve ever been thru. Destroyed the most perfect soul-mate relationship and hurt her irreparably, moved from a beautiful little comfy home into a piece of crap place, became an alcoholic and severe drug addict, lost a very great paying job, reclused myself away from family and friends, wasted tens of thousands of dollars of savings on debauchery and addiction, racked up thousands of dollars in debt, lost my grandparents, let my mind become overflowed with horrible thoughts of meaningless/nihilism/hatred…lonely, frustrated, no companionship…made mistake, after mistake, after mistake…and filled with regret. But with all that, starting with that horrible breakup…I have meditated and realised, very painfully and over the last months and months of reflection, that I caused all this myself thru inferiority and self-doubt, which in that very beginning festered into the increasingly severe mental illness that became the catalyst for my past 2 years of utter self-destruction. I had a great life, a GREAT life, and it quickly devolved into the worst 2 years I’ve ever experienced (and I was homeless at 6 with a schizophrenic beer-guzzling-dad-hating mother, so I didn’t exactly have a great upbringing). All bcoz I let the seeds of doubt and self-hate get the better of me. That’s my point tho…I realise the monster I’ve become and I know what I have to do to fix it. I owe it to my own soul, to the blessing of life, and to those who love/loved me, to stop being such a POS. I’m doing a lot better now, still nowhere near out of the dumpster…but I am becoming a better man, by reflecting on my deep faults, and changing my life. Sorry for the rant, it’s for catharsis and to help those in similar slices of self-created hell. Tc boys

There's definitely a lack of emotional maturity on Wings' part, which is unfortunate because if that's not something that's taught/learned as you grow up, it's much harder to achieve later on. But honestly, the kicker to me is that even when he was embarrassed about losing that COD 1v1, if he could have looked at the bigger picture, he really missed out on some good opportunities. His broken controller would have been hilarious if he'd just rolled with it. If he'd just played off the 1v1 loss with humor, he would have gotten the best kind of "negative" publicity that would have driven traffic to his podcast or YT channel while people try to figure out who this guy is challenging Syndicate, they'd be exposed to his content. If his content was good, he'd be netting new followers.

the greatest thing for a person to learn, is how to laugh and poke fun at themselves. one time i got so mad at a game that i smacked the laptop i was playing on, and it broke the screen. my friends and i both thought it was hilarious. i know for a fact that i was stupid for doing it, and it's even a little embarrassing that a dumb game made me that angry, but i definitely can't defend my rage the way he always seems to. after all, i still find the incident really funny and even make jokes about it whenever somebody asks me to play it. if he could've done the same thing and not senselessly defend his actions in anger, i think he wouldn't have suffered as much hate as he did and like you said gained some publicity from it.

Sensitivity to criticisms, embarrassments, and rejections is a known trait of those of social anxiety. They can be very defensive, and admitting that they're wrong can be very difficult and painful (as it may lead to humiliation, rejection, and/or lowered self-esteem). Irritability is also a known symptom of depression. The more depressed you are, the more irritable you are. And as we all know, angry outbursts can make situations worse-like further humiliation, which can trigger social anxiety, which can worsen their depression and irritability. Besides lowering self-esteem, both conditions can also lead to chronic loneliness, which can make you question relationships, others' positive opinions of you, and your worthiness of others' trust/respect. So, depression and social anxiety are already an awful mix on their own. Add in immaturity, overwhelming negativity from online critics and trolls, and generally being an a-hole to others (esp. those trying to help them), and you prolly get the kind of hell Wings has ended up in. I don't excuse Wings' bad behavior and actions, but as someone struggling with MDD and social anxiety, it's painful to see him go through this. With the right treatment and the right support and by learning how to deal and live with his mental health, he can turn his life around. It's not easy, but it's worth it in the end. Sorry for the long comment. Just giving me two cents.

I suffer from major depressive disorder and I've lived with it most of my life. I have never used it as an excuse for awful behaviour, because it's not. In order to grow as an individual I believe we need to own the bad shit we do, hold ourselves accountable for it, and admit that we acted like an asshat. If we can't do that then we will simply continue to behave in all sorts of stupid ways.
