I believe I was at this show. 2006 Fort York. They played back to back nights. I can’t remember which one I attended. What a choice for an opener. Definitely not typical to kick off a show, but his is one of my favourite tracks on Trouble at the Henhouse. “Drop the bomb that restores some calm, and then promises re-birth.”

best band of all time. fun fact, that line Kurt Cobain reincarnated, is from a show where Nirvana was opening for the Hip and they found Kurt passed out on a table after the show and they gave him a shake and woke him up. cool story.

Dude i stumbled upon your reactions to the hip recently and I watch them over and over. Seeing you come to love and appreciate them is strangely emotional and cathartic for me. For so many Canadians of a certain age, this band is so innately embedded in our youth that watching gord pass, and the band slowly fade into history - it’s a humbling and heart wrenching experience. It’s like a piece of my own mortality is tied to this band. It’s so curiously indescribable but it’s very true. Thanks for the reactions please keep them coming I will watch them forever. Cheers.
