You know I’m born and raised in Austin and still haven’t rode this trail yet?! 😅 I better do it soon because I’m moving to Louisville my next year. And I just got a new bike ! And new to the channel

FYI, the spot where you stopped at 8:15, the path has now been extended another 3 miles into the city of Manor. It ends at a small non descript park called "Ben Fisher" park in Manor. There is a nice convenience store less than a half mile away from the park called Manor Xpress Mart if you need a store stop. Also at 1:23. you passed under Hwy 183 and the little bridge off to your right will take you across the creek. If you then go left (under 183) and then up to street level, there is a wide sidewalk that will take you about 200 yards to Houndstooth coffee shop. There is a local group cycling that goes there after their weekly rides.

@@toddb3846 thanks so much for the details. I will be sure to check these spots out if I'm ever back in Austin.

@@bethbikes Sounds good. I figured other people will be watching your video too and they may find the info about the Manor extension helpful too. :-)

I love this trail. The "weeds" you saw are what we call cane poles. I believe it is a type of bamboo.

It is a nice trail, isn't it? That tall grass you mentioned is called Giant Cane (Arundo donax), which is an invasive exotic species that gets out of control here in Austin. Along the trail one can sometimes see wildlife: road runner, coyote, deer, and rarely feral pigs. City of Austin Parks & Rec makes us proud with this trail

@@bryanparsons9277 it's a super nice trail. I'm glad we went out of our way to go and ride it! I don't think we rode it at the right time of day to see wildlife but that would have been so cool.

Nice video. I think it's pampas grass you saw (the one with the plumes). Why does the trail go nowhere? Beats me. I think there may be some thinking that it will eventually be extended. Also, I love biking in 50 degree weather. Short sleeve is doable only if you are riding.
@bethbikes2 ай бұрын
@@lenajc1 Here in MN 50s is short sleeves for sure, but temperature is really just relative. I would love to see this trail extended. Even if it does go nowhere, it's a beautiful trail that I would ride almost any day of the week.

Great video Love urban trails you get to interact with people and the riding is easy but we still prefer the back road gravel, Think good say good do good BE GOOD

There is something about riding back gravel roads that just can't be beat! I totally agree.

The trail traffic has increased by probably 2 or 3 times in the past year. I think word has gotten out about my private racetrack. 😄
