@balthanonysen70016 ай бұрын
@@davekal Assuming they were using the correct terms in the video, having investors isn't the same thing as taking out loans. You're not on the hook for paying them back directly if the business flops. Instead you're giving up your profit. I'm guessing what happened here is that the investors bought completely undeveloped land plus some hardware like the tractors for like 500k - 1 million and let him develop it with a bunch of volunteer labor so they could sell the property at a significant profit with minimal work and money on their part.
@kneehats23116 ай бұрын
@@davekal no he is renting land to run a bike park and wants the new owner to be into a contract where they are forced to keep renting to him the land or even not pay any rent and keep the park on the new owners expense. also this is not really the Austin area its over an hour away, the population of marble falls is like under 10k. i know some people that are developers and are building a subdivision on the intersection of 281 and 71. they did not pay even close to 25k and acre for land in marble falls. so ill probably be an out of state buyer that will buy the land for a inflated price.

Central TX Hill country riding is terrific. The area is ancient geologically and there is tons of chunky, rocky tech to ride. One quirky and frustrating aspect to life in Texas is that virtually all the land in the state is privately owned (about 97%), so there is very little public lands for recreation. Anytime you can find private land that promotes outdoor activities, it's worth protecting.

The early part where you jump off a container reminds me of a time as a pre teen/teenwhere I was dumb. A friend of mine who was also into bmx and dirt bikes like me, his dad owned a commercial transmission shop. Doing big rig and bus transmissions. Well, he had some old school buses in his yard. The old kind with the engine in the front. We put 2x4’s and plywood from the top of the hood to the ground. Then we rode on the roof of the bus and jumped the gap from the end of the roof/window to the front of the hood where the plywood was. But of course we were not exact and the 2x4’s stuck up past the plywood to impale us. And the plywood was not secured to anything so sometimes it would slip down when we landed. Yeah…….fun times though.

I’m sorry if I missed something in this in the video, but how did all this come about in the first place? How did this organization get this land and build the bike park to where it is now? Is this family land? Most 17 year old don’t have access to 130 acres and tractors and in most areas developers would have already scooped this land up for housing. I am curious of how this bike park started out in the first place. Is the 17yo selling off his family ranch or finding buyers for an existing business?

You most likely will need surgical repair if you continue to have subluxation/dislocations with an anterior and posterior inferior labrum tear especially since you are quite active and using your shoulders as much as you do while riding a bike. Your PCP and ortho will recommend PT first and hopefully you regain enough strength and stability so that surgery is not required but I work with athletes daily and it is not uncommon to have to get it repaired. I'm a local and will say the place is def sketchy in that safety protocols are often ignored, such as marking big gap jumps, etc. Also, you can't count on the shuttles to all be operating either. We paid a lot of money and in 2.5 hrs, got in 2 runs bc there was only 1 operating shuttle bc people didn't show up to work we were told. The owner, was off riding elsewhere as opposed to driving the shuttle that we paid to ride. Oh well. I certainly wouldn't return unless it got overhauled and ran properly. Sad to say it didn't live up to the hype and we ride Spider Mountain (15 mins away and lift served) instead.

Worst crash I ever had so far was here on opening weekend (2nd day). Without full warm up, & after already being tired from moving mulch and planting trees all morning, I did 75 Hits, which is at the peak of my jumping ability currently by time you get into part 2 & 3. About I think it's the 5th jump into part 3, there's that sorta left hip, and the one after I dead sailored with nose sky high, cleared the transition entirely and landed nearly vertical in the flat below, so that obviously just popped me off. Sore heel from my back foot for a few days, thumb couldn't even push my dropper lever, and that was for like a whole week and a half that had pain. Knocked the wind out of me, and my shoulder I could hardly move. Since it was only my first run of the entire day, I did try to see if I could tough it out enough and went back up for one more run, but sticking to blue tech, and that obviously still hurt quite a bit (I now carry fast acting ibuprofen in my vehicle), and had a pretty hard time lifting my 37lb trail bike up onto my rack by myself because my arm just didn't want to move that high up, especially with additional weight. took a full week to even get back on the bike at all, another week til I could ride green and blue trails, avoiding any step ups/downs, jumps, and drops, or heavy chunder, and by week 3 I was at probably 80%, with a little pain still on certain motions and feature types, but not wincing pain. So about a whole month to get back to 100%.... Then 3 weeks later I go hit Drop the Hammer for the first (& 6 subsequent) times on my first real vacation (and alone at that).
