I thought that I would take a different approach and mention a couple of down sides of the trainee life in Korea. These are just a couple of things I realized throughout my experiences and I also asked a couple of my friends for their insight as well on how they felt when they were trainees.There are a lot of basic things on the trainee life but I wanted to give you guys a view of what trainees ACTUALLY feel and go through. Hope you guys enjoyed the video. LAVA YOU.
Also filmed a gtwm with Joan so check that out as well its on her channel ❤️Ily

The government needs to start setting up regulations on how they treat people and what is legal to put in a contract. A lot of this sounds so one sided to the agency and is simply abuse. The modeling industry is beginning to change and this needs to as well. It's never okay to treat a human being likes an object with rights.

Bcs idols are supposed to love their fans only, who give them their living. Not their GFs. Imagine you buy tons of albums, spend lotta money to meet someone's boyfriend for 5 mins. Every fans knows deep within that they dont support their idols for their music. Music indeed play important rules, but not the #1 reason. Dating is ok in k-pop if youre established or not an idol (artists). 2PM and SNSD dated, BigBang dated or even married, IU dated. Hyuna dated, which is ok for her but not his bf, rookie group w/ smaller fanbase which still growing. Feel bad for his team. He got the pussy but the rest of the team are left with undecided career.

Very interesting series....but I do feel like I would want to know more what YOU personally went through... like did you have a easy time adjusting or did you feel like it was difficult.. Did you meet people you connected with while you were training? what was your contract like? How did your style change? BUT if it’s too personal i understand and respect that. Or if this is more geared towards people who might want to be a trainee..that make sense.
@soobeanie
@soobeanie 5 жыл бұрын
Hey no problem~ To answer those questions most of the things I stated were personal experiences except the dating/phone inspection/ my schedule was different. But as to your questions, I did have trouble adjusting like getting used to the new environment and also language and cultural barriers. I did met a couple of people I connected with but I think that was after the debut because I got to know more people. My style changed in the kind of brands/fit/ vibe changed. I was always a casual clothes type of girl but I think when I was trainee my style shifted to more of a bolder look/ a look were you try to stand out a little bit. At the same time it had to be comfortable enough to practice in.

With how technology, social media, self-expressionism, and entrepreneurship is booming now (and expected to grow in the future) with patience and effort it is *definitely possible to succeed in music on your own* without the BS that companies put you through. Not only will you get most of your income, but you will also have *creative freedom.* You'll be able to enjoy doing what you've wanted to do all along: music. The whole point of being an "artist" is to *express yourself creatively.* The way the industry seems to function right now goes against that. It's more like turning people into animatronics -- animated robots, rather than letting them actively communicate with people through music. It's like forcing a painter to paint exactly what he / she sees in a photograph rather than "how" he / she personally sees it. There's no expression in doing this and it's the most suffocating feeling. *Artists need to breathe to make art.* Artists thrive on self-expression. When I hear about *the suicides, the deaths, the insane dieting, and depression* that kpop celebs and trainees go through, it's heartbreaking. The way the industry treats these people by depriving them of basic human rights and giving them constant mental abuse is disgusting. Driving someone towards suicide and psychologically abusing someone *are crimes that stands in court. But the industry dodges responsibility* for this through its contracts. There should be some kind of workers' Union or organization to be on top of that since it's literally driving people to their graves. Anyway, *with the freedom you have now, enjoy it and be the person you want to be.* Be happy and live your own life being as free as you possibly can. You have my, and all your other subscribers' and fans', support. Go for it and don't look back. Stay tough, hang in there, and *keep singing* 💞💕✨👍😊

I plan to do this in the future. Instead of auditioning for companies, I'll just post my music on youtube or whatever for fun and if it works then it works but if it doesnt then it doesnt, I just like music a lot anyway. Personally I've though about becoming a trainee and its not really something I desire, but if I did then the part I would desire is being in a group, but you can do that without really needing to be in a company. I love my creative freedom and wouldnt wanna give it up to be given cheesy songs i cant put my own creativity and thought into. :)

I have so much respect for trainees and idols. The stuff that they have to endure sounds so miserable. Do some of the rules ease up the longer you train? Because the trainees that train for a long time like 10 years not being able to talk to guys and follow these strict rules for that long seems miserable. I can’t imagine doing that. Plus some of these rules are still in effect when they debut. Also, I know this is a weird question butI’m curious about how girl trainees and idols deal with periods. For me periods kill me lol like I can’t function properly on my period. Do they put them on birth control or something to stop them? I know I got a birth control shot that stopped mine. So I wonder if that’s what they do. Thank you for this series. It’s so interesting to hear an what goes on behind the scenes!!

jenna b As for it easing up in some cases there are some things that ease up. As for the period it’s usually something you have to deal with on your own but if you have severe pain sometimes you can take it a little easy on practice but like I said it’s different for each companyz

i go to a workshop that's basically like low key "kpop training" and so i get to live my passion without having such strict rules and just learn and learn. one day i hope though that i can experience kpop training since i'm somewhat used to everything you've already listed. i know its gonna be hard, but i have this habit of pushing myself and i think thats going to help me here.

Thank you for such a unique and interesting insight into the kpop world. I am from Australia myself and kpop is gaining some traction there. I have read about the horrendous training routine trainees have to go through to become kpop idols. It seems like you have to be insanely strong to survive. It sad to hear how these companies treats idols/trainees like slaves. Most idols I know seem very curtiouse and kind. Well done for fighting back ❤

Love this series! It's so interessting! But I would love to hear a bit more about your personal experiences like how long did you train and what was the longest and the shortes trainee period of your group members? was there a huge difference? And I also would love to hear something about the traing itself! Like did you had a certain weekly schedule, or what kind of "lessons" did you had... only singing and dancing? what was the proportion between the dancing and singing lessons? Did you work 7 days a week? How was the dance training organized? was there a dance teacher or did you practice all by yourselves? what did the practice look like... did you prepare dance covers of older kpop songs? I'm really interessted in that! Can't wait for another video!
@soobeanie
@soobeanie 5 жыл бұрын
Each member had different amounts of training from 1month to 6 months. You have dance practice, the most I would say mmmm to be honest I didnt have a lot of lessons. The company at the time only provided dance lessons and singing we just had to practice ourselves. Usually the dance teacher teaches us choreo we run through it together with her and then practice ourselves on days we didnt have lessons.thats for my company

How do you keep in touch with your family if you’re the only one who moved to Korea to train? Will the companies allow social media for just that one instance, to keep in touch with family? If they do allow that, do they allow you to keep in touch with them on a regular basis?
@soobeanie
@soobeanie 5 жыл бұрын
It varies for each company but if that is the case they will let you keep in contact with them. If cell phones are really not allowed jn their company trainee rules you will either have to find another way to contact them via email or Ive seen cases making an agreement to call once a week.

Would you jump at the chance to do kdrama if you were offered a role or you were asked to test for a part? The training process seems a bit familiar to being a college athlete.
