The Travelin' Man: Trimming Fungal Toenails and Athlete's Foot. He Traveled Far To Visit Me (Part 1)

A new patient found me on KZbin and made a day trip from Orlando, FL to Washington, DC to receive care from the DC Foot Doctor. That's over 800 miles! He has a severe fungal toenail infection, athlete's foot, and poor circulation. In this first video from his visit, his circulation is tested, and his toenails are trimmed and sent to the lab for fungal identification. His skin issues will be seen in his next video, so stay tuned.

Foot soaks, pumice stone, careful clipping of nails, and lots of shea butter and skin cream! I would easily compare my feet to someone half my age. I had tears in my eyes when the lovely patient explained why he chose Dr K. He really summed it up perfectly. I don’t think I’ve ever come across any doctor who showers as much kindness, caring and respect towards patients. Also, he shows so much passion towards everything he does. I was in nursing for about 40 years and never ever have I seen anyone show the amount of compassion towards all patients. He is truly someone who has been raised to show respect. Sara Coleman I’m not sure you understood what that doctor was telling you. You and only you are the absolute best advocate for your care. Healthcare professionals can only do so much. You’re the one that has to advocate for yourself and your health. If you don’t, then how can anyone help you? We can look at test results and examine your body, but in the end YOU are the only one that can tell someone what you’re experiencing. That is what it means to be an advocate for yourself. It’s not rude, disrespectful, or lacking compassion to tell someone that they need to be an advocate for their own care. What that means is that you need to speak up and voice what’s happening in your body because you are the only person that can do that. No one knows what you’re feeling unless you tell them.

Dr. Kevin your patient is absolutely CORRECT!!! You have the greatest bedside manner of any doctor I’ve been to or watched on KZbin. I know he’ll be GRATEFUL in the end that he took the chance and spent time and money to see you. Coming to see you is like a one stop shop for all foot problems. No shortcuts here! Meticulous work. If it takes 2 videos to watch it, so be it! Fungus being sent to lab, Pulses assessed by Doppler, vascular testing going to be done, help getting a primary doctor and podiatrist in patients area, face time for follow up. I learned how to take care a diabetic feet when I was child my grandmothers old horse Doctor showed me what needed to be done. I have taken care of feet for people in my family for years (I am 42 now) I watch video now to help with my 96 year old aunt. I have say you are so gentle and thorough thank you for caring. Dr. Jefferson, you’re just like my Podiatrist. It took me 8 months and 3 Doctors to find not just the right but the best Podiatrist for my foot issues. All I kept finding were Doctors who would talk at me instead of talking with me. As you said your foot issues can be caused by other issues with your health and in my case they were. Along with my Primary Health Care Doctor, my foot issues were cleared up in 11 months. I now have the best health I’ve hade in years and most of all happy feet. It took a Primary Health Care Doctor, Podiatrist and me to have the best life I’ve had in a long time. Listen to your Doctors 👣

A physician, I am not but...great minds think alike....about a month and a half ago I bought a denture brush for my toes and areas around my toes that's kinda hard to reach the dead skin and what do you know.... you take as much care with each toe as a nail technician does, and gives this man a good chance to get the medications to get right into the right places. Ive not see any podiatrist on youtube do as thorough job as you do. I love that you teach everyone how to help themselves, rather than the usual chit chat and jokes you hear. This is exactly what my deceased husband had on his feet while wearing heavy construction boots. He had circulatory issues that lead to diabetes and then heart and vascular issues . Left untreated as per his decision. lead to heart attack and a zipper heart operation . Diabetes got worse over the years and eventually killed him . Once again you are right on the money with your instructions for this patient . You truly care about the well being of your patients . You are one of the very few Doctors who are,,,,,
