Year Old Long Toenails: Trimming Extremely Long Toenails
A 91-year-old patient was brought to the office by her son. Due to health issues and concerns about leaving her home due to the pandemic, she has not had any foot care in over a year. As a result, her toenails grew extremely long, causing discomfort, a change in shoe size and shoe styles, corns, calluses, and skin scales. The last time she had her nails treated (pedicure) was a year ago at a nail salon. This video illustrates the issue of foot care challenges in the elderly and how family members can intervene.
