Great vlog Adam - you're back in your natural habitat - amongst the trees - and your passion is evident as you explain your process of composition which is both helpful and interesting. Great images too. The final scene with the two of you sat by the campfire and that awesome view beyond is superb and surely anyone in that situation would never want to leave.✌️

You did well to find a tree that wanted its picture taken. In my experience, they are so vain and always feel that they’d look better in a different season or in different weather conditions and they are always clear on which they consider to be their best side.

Beautiful photography Adam... Love the opening sequence changing from B&W to color, very creative... I agree completely that summertime is not the best time to be out photographing. I totally understand this summer has been difficult to get motivated to take photo's, with waterfall levels low and light conditions too bright and not as moody and dramatic colours. Plus all the popular places are too peopley lol, so I prefer the fall/winter on Vancouver Island to explore and take photo's. Less people and more moody and dramatic light. If you and Gavin want to visit French Falls on Nahmint Mountain in a month or 2 let me know. I found a good route that I flagged with tape and was there last October and it was awesome.

Great video as usual Adam, always love your drone work. Have you ever thought about trying something different when the weather is too 'nice' for landscapes? I notice you have an eye for the details and was thinking maybe you could have some fun shooting micro-landscapes. Hunting for tiny little landscapes with a macro lens could be a bit of fun. Trying something different could be a nice little holiday :)

Hey Adam, The opening video transitions from BW to vivid color was also very cool and impressive to me. Again, you also bring up some points of spending the extra minute or so to really research a scene before giving up and moving on. I think that's something that we often don't take the effort to do. This hurry up, give it to me now world is better when it slows down a little. Thanks again for sharing, Jim

I wonder if you have ever talked to the tree's down at the HOE rain forest on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State? On a serious note... for the textural shots you seem to enjoy the HOE rainforest is a great place to visit if you have the weatherproof gear to work in that environment (very moist). And it's also relatively close to where you live (within a few days drive).

As I was watching/listening to your final comments I was hearing that tree say, "take a photo from this side of me." My vision of the composition was leading in with the root to the trunk carrying upwards in to the green moss. Now it may not work but it may be one for a future adventure to look at. I also just realized in this video we use the same camera, tripod and backpack. Coincidence or did your gear whisper to me from video land? Someday you need to come east coast and look at some of Maine's woodland, although I think your coastline is more photogenic then ours, we do have some unique spots to explore. I'd also find you a lobster roll to go with your pickled eggs! Just don't tell Gavin, he'd likely be jealous and want one too, but he can come if he brings his own lens cloth.

What does it matter if you get the shot or not you change it so much in post production. As far as I'm concerned you really don't need talent anymore because you can take a million pictures and just layer them together to cheat to get the prefect shot.
@QuietLightPhoto5 жыл бұрын
Chris Gould hmmm okay, and your point is? You must be speaking for yourself because that’s not how I approach photography. I don’t take a million images and taking a ton of images doesn’t guarantee anything. As far as processing goes why should or would you care what others do? I for myself shoot for me and in theses videos share my thoughts, nothing more, take it or leave it. What I sense is someone that is bitter for not having others notice their photography. My advice, start a KZbin channel and put your work out there and see what people think of it and then comment on other videos. if you can’t offer anything to the comments in a constructive or useful manner don’t bother commenting.
@chrisgould91015 жыл бұрын
@@QuietLightPhoto All I'm saying Mr Gibbs is that technology in photography has come to a point where you can manipulate photo to the point where you can get what you want in almost every situation as long as you have composition you want. As for me being bitter because my photography is nowhere near where I want it to be is funny. Because I've learn a ton tricks from yourself and that others videos on KZbin.but most are dry and boring compared to yours and Mr Hardcastle's. So have a great day.
