This is a perfect example of why this needs to be fixed, Idc if it's 5.56 or not point blank velocity and damages sustained would drop anyone; it shouldn't be as penetrating as an AK round assuming 7.62 but it also shouldn't let someone caught off guard turn around and one shot you. The fact that it's the original AI primary weapon is likely the reason the damages are nerfed this way so they just steam roll you from 300m out but perhaps Player entity could get different values or rework it altogether.

Honestly I think it's retarded that 5.56 guns feel like peashooters in this game. I don't really play KOTH but it ruins the singleplayer experience as well.

"Designed with injury in mind" That's just a meme. Besides, I want to see you shooting back while being only "injured" by 10 separate 5.56 bullets in your body. The 5.56 may be like a "peashooter" compared to a 7.62x39, but that doesn't mean it should take 10 hits to kill someone with it, while the 7.62 is almost always a one-shot kill. Something is clearly off here.

Gotta love these Israeli TARs, just don’t let their performance in games fool you, they are very well made! If you noticed, the magazine is actually quite far back, it’s to increase muzzle velocity, making it a deadly weapon, that nobody wants to face.

Here is a tip if you against AAF or NATO. Their Body armour does not protect them in the waist, so even if you have a 9 mil. you will always get them one shot to the waist or groyne region. Now to Csat, their fatigues have protection everywhere and you will need a big caliber or aim for the face not head. Their armour is the best so be in greater numbers and be prepared for a fight.

the TRG really isn't that bad, it forces you to play in a way that you wouldn't play with other guns, only shooting at things you can kill. it helps to train your trigger finger and helps you play much smarter, thats why i think its the first weapon unlock.

Played alot with the TRG-21, i primarily use single fire unless i walk into a house, or close quater, in those situations i use auto

bullpups bounce more. A bit of weight up front helps to control the recoil. The SPAR is really nice to spray with imo even though it's 5.56, the TRG is not.

You need to play to the guns strengths, you don't play a 5.56 like you play a 7.62. The 5.56 adds more complexity to the game, you have to play differently with it; be more accurate, conserve ammo, use the mobility advantage.

although 5.56 is underpowered, I don't exactly think it's extremely unrealistic, it's a relatively light round from the 60s-70s going up against state of the art body armor from the 2030s. it could use a little buff, but I don't think it's unrealistic trash like people claim.

ZincNut I genuinely don't understand why. 7.62x39, at least (not 7.62x51, though), is a perfectly terrible round- it causes very little injury (it flies straight, breaks bones, and goes out the other end; it doesn't transfer much energy, and it doesn't spin up into the body to make a larger wound channel, unlike 5.56).

No... just no. Plz, there is a lot of literature on the 7.62x39 vs 5.56. Go and have a read and come back enlightened. Please keep in mind that the 5.56 was designed as a rabbit shooting round originally and was only used by the US because it was cheap and requires very minimal training to shoot effectively. (This is in the conscription era of the Vietnam war where quantity rather than quality was the name of the game.) The MX rifles of Arma 3 use a caliber very similar to the 6.5 Grendel (6.5x39). The 6.5 round, IRL is a vastly superior round to both the 556 and 7.62. It flies further, with greater consistency, flatter bc, less wind drift, is supersonic to 1000yds (556 only 600 load dependent) and more kinetic transfer (due to elongated nature of 6.5 round which tumbles well) than either of the named calibers. 556 is a god awful round but everybody uses it (bar the special forces who use the SCAR-H for example) and therefore there is great reluctance to change. But read some literature and you will understand.

nxtLVLnoob I've researched 6.5 Grendel, and I agree- that's amazing. I've also heard that soldiers don't consider the 5.56 to be a terrific round; but I said 7.62 was bad, not 6.5 Grendel.
