Wow I almost feel bad for how bad Meteos made Doublelift look when they were talking about fan interactions. It's just two different types of people, and maybe Meteos is putting on a front cause it's a stream but I appreciated what he had to say about how fans will remember that moment. I went to a LCS stream once as a live audience member and got pictures with all the old TSM guys, definitely something I always look back on when I think about the glory days of League.

Listen to their co-stream VoD when they talked about shilling for gambling sites. Meteos and Sneaky pulled the whole "well if my 20k viewers gamble and lose all their money because I did it then it's their fault" argument. The more I hear them all talk outside of the context of them streaming, the less I think I'd get along with them on any real topic. Great players and entertainers but very much stuck in a bubble of wealth, fame, and privilege.

the original reason for top 8 making playoffs was so that a team with a bad spring doesnt get fucked over if even they do well in summer, when spring win/loss record carried over. like clg might not have made playoffs if their spring split record carried over and if it was only top 6 even tho CLG is clearly top 4 or 5.

I think the point of the 7/8 seed teams making playoffs is it allows the 5/6 teams to be double elim which in turn makes it a fairer system to determine top 3… I don’t think anyone expects them to win a series just act as a placeholder in lower bracket

I Agree with the microtransactions, Genshin is pay to advance and they make the characters super appealing. Genshin is not competitive though, which is where i don't have a problem with it and F2P accounts can clear the hardest content 12 Abyss. Games where you literally have to spend money for any sort of progress feel shit. I think it's hard to find Gacha that fully expect you to spend money no matter what. Arkknights is a good example, i made a F2P account after playing for a long time on my main and i've done essentially all relevant hard content on that as well.

There doesn't need to be PvP for a game to be "pay to win". Winning is succeeding, I don't care how much you try to pervert the definition of winning, Genshin and every other gacha is P2W and in a bad way. Some games do P2W in a good way that supports the game without breaking the game (Path of Exile, Escape from Tarkov) but very very few games do it well. It's not even a question, these games are P2W.

In order for something to be considered p2w you have to get a large advantage from paying that someone else can't overcome without also paying themselves. P2w means "forced to pay to compete". You can pay 0 dollars in both League and Genshin and succeed equally with someone dropping 100,000 dollars.

It's quite easy to do all content on F2P but Abyss 12, even then Abyss 12 is completely possible with enough time, patience and proper artifacts/team setups. Genshin is not a hard game and it doesn't try to be. Both Genshin and Arkknights are the two games i have the most experience with, my main account and a F2P account. Both i've managed to do hardest content it just requires patience and understanding of the games systems.

I have disposable income, so it doesn't affect me, intentionally going full F2P on another account once you understand the game though helps you realise how lenient the games can be. I mean several of the best Genshin comps revolve around the power of the 4 stars you will accidentally roll upon with the free primos/wishes you get. Xiangling, Xingqiu, Bennett, Sucrose, Heizou, Beidou, Diona etc

Yeah sneaky even said that P2W games means that you have to swipe to do something in the game where genshin does not do at all. You can literally do anything you want without spending a single dime in genshin. Just because the game has a gacha system doesn't mean it revolves around it, the only reason you'd want to even enter that gacha system is because you want a specific character. And even then, you can have 0 spent and still get the character you want with all the free stuff you can get, you can even guarantee it with the pity system.

League is not even a little bit pay-to-win lmfao Pay-to-win is when you are SO weak without paying for things that it's impossible, or at least very difficult to even play the game. Even if you buy only 450 BE cost champs, you still have a champion pool to work with. Since the meta rotates, even 450 cost champions are gonna be stupid broken at random times. If 450 and 1350 champs were just ALWAYS trash, then I can see the pay-to-win angle. In a rotating meta, with sufficient in-game currency just by playing the game, and absolutely nothing you can buy that will affect the strength of your champs, it's impossible for it to be pay-to-win.
