#Honda CR500 #1987 Honda CR500
This week features Media Blasters. Watch as they make short work of dirt and paint!
Here is a link to Martin Jarvis a UK reseller of big bore 2 strokes:

So another worthwhile project hits the screen. No less the beast, a 'Man bike', Cancelled in the name of safety, What ever you want to call it. This is the last un-restricted crazy idea from Honda to produce a bike you simply can't use to it's full potential. Dull 4 stroke restricted racing still sees the CR500 2 stroke competing and winning in many unrestricted races after 30+ years of so-called- development. I want one. I want it in a glass case just to know I have something that belongs to another age.
Lets see if it is up to the hype..

I love how your first choice is always reuse oem parts and restore them. Its easy to buy new parts. And i think u also get the most joy by restoring original parts. I learn alot from u so thanks for that. Hopefully i find myself a new project soon. (Aprilia rs125 hopefully)

Love your videos. Love the music. I was starting to wonder if anyone listened to jazz or classical or good rock anymore.

I always leave a thumbs up but rarely any comment. I’ve run out of superlatives and I’m not knowledgeable enough to offer pointers.

Great work! Yes, super glue is great with rubber. Been using it for years to join O-rings... one of life's nice little discoveries ;-)

The swingarm insert at the back are all glued in from the factory. Most people don't try to take them out.

You should invest in a vapor hone or vapor blasting machine. There are a ton of videos you can watch on how to make one yourself and would probably enjoy doing it. Vapor blasting is much less abrasive than sand blasting.

Amazing attention detail yet again, it just shows how much preparation is required if you want a first class restoration. This bike is going to be better than new.

Hey, just came across your channel….I live just down the road a bit….in Sydney Australia 🇦🇺😉. However ,It’s great to see someone trying to save money and parts as you do so well and restore them to as good as new. I have the same ideas to save things so really enjoyed this build so far. Where are you based in the uk, I’m originally from Leicestershire, cheers, Dean

5:33 why are you removing the weld? Will it make it weaker if the weld metal is thinner? It's the first thing I've questioned, so you're doing great 😆 I watched your CB125 video and liked how much you fitted in to a 22 minute video. I've been curious about buying a non runner and trying to get it going as a hobby.

Thanks for your comment. Alloy welds done to the correct current as this one was melt bonds all the way through so it’s not a problem to remove the excess which if you think about it is not assisting in the bond at all so removing it is a no brainer.

NEVER POWDER COAT Troy. If you restore this bike use a 2 pak paint like Honda did. I show the colour info on the video..good luck!
