As someone who lived in brunei from 2018 to 2022 i will say that, while the sharia laws existed, they were barely enforced. Additionally that the internet usage is monitored and limited is kinda bs, i did not have any restricion, although that could have been because i was a foreigner. The control of the media is true however. You do also definitely see a wild difference between the rich and the poor despite the wealth in the country. The building shown in the video is also not the sultan's palace and instead the grand mosque. The sultan's palace looks more like a mosque with a giant pringle next to it when looked at from a bit of elevation. It is very much hush hush in the country about what the sultan actually does, let alone sex parties. It's a pretty fucked up thought that i lived under the rule of this psycopath for four years.
