Just as Taco Bell is not considered “authentic Mexican food” you have probably never experienced “authentic” Christianity.

I had to restart your video to confirm if you said you were a pastor. You... My dear lost child are proof the church is flooded with false teachers

Ok, but what evudence for your refutation? All this video did was teach me about the concept of the commentor without actually providing any refutation other than "he's wrong."

That is not how the burden of proof works.

Reminder that the First Council of Nicaea was in year 325, to settle once and for all about the divinity of Jesus and his relation to God. This tells you that people WERE IN DISAGREEMENT about Jesus' DIVINITY and his SONSHIP for 300 years. If it was clear cut that Jesus is divine and that he is the literal Son of God, you would've found it in the NT, and there won't be any need for the councils (and the execution of those who disagree with the doctrine) in the first place.

I’m not sure what form of Evangelical Christianity you came from but you should have kept exploring. I did and found all of my unanswered questions clearly explained through Eastern Orthodox Christianity. If you haven’t explored this tradition you should. Apostates are only those who have given up seeking and the spiritual journey. When you embrace the reality of “I don’t know.” you open the door to “knowing”. As long as you think “you know” you will remain in a state of delusion.

When you say that you are an atheist do you mean to say that you can provide proof of the non existence of a creative force called God, or that you believe that this force is independent of morality. That is, do you reap what so sow or not?

Your wrong, Sam Shamoun has videos that explain it much better than I can in a KZbin comment. Jesus is always referred to as the son of god, as the word of god. He’s the only part of the Trinity that ever directly talked to anyone, like Abraham, Adam and Eve, Cain, Noah and so on. It’s clear the Son of god is the only possible explanation for the Lord that was just talking with Abraham, calling fire FROM THE LORD IN HEAVEN, being the father. The Father who has always resided in heaven. It’s hilarious you accuse me of eisegesis when you are the one reading in your own interpretation into the text. Also, addressing your eisegesis picture, millions of years isn’t true there’s no proof of it. Radioactive dating methods aren’t scientific because of all the assumptions (at least 3) that must be made to conclude a rock is millions of years old.
@wannabe_scholar8211 ай бұрын
You do realize you are still doing eisegesis as youre reading back your own ideas of Jesus being God back into a text that wouldnt have held that idea at all?
@alexhanson869711 ай бұрын
first of all the interpretation I laid out is the same interpretation the Catholic Church has held for the last 1500 years. I learned it from reading books written by Saints who spent their lives studying scripture, and for over 1500 years that interpretation has remained the same. So no I’m not reading my own ideas into the text. And secondly, the god from the New and Old Testament are the same god so your wrong in saying it’s a text that wouldn’t have held that idea at all, that the son of god, the only part of god that’s ever directly talked to people, would be the one talking to Abraham in Genesis.

@alexhanson8697 1500 years ago isn't when this text was written. It was written long before that, so their interpretation doesn't matter to what the text originally meant. The OT and NT God are the same but only to Christians. If you ask a Jew they would very much disagree with you. The authors of the OT were Jews, so they would likely disagree with you.

@@wannabe_scholar82just a question for an ex pastor. Jesus does not fullfil the OT prophetic description? Have you looked into it? Share with the sheep if you have
@alexhanson869711 ай бұрын
@@wannabe_scholar82 I understand very well that the old testament pre dates jesus and that most ethnic jews today disagree with the new testament. They are wrong. Being a jew has nothing to do with what your religious beliefs are. Most jews are so-called secular jews, and a small amount are Christian jews. Its true the authors in the OT were jews, Jesus was also a Jew, but after Jesus was resurrected, ethnic jews became christians and soon after the Christian church spread all over the world. The Jews who wrote genesis would not disagree with the trinity, only the Jews today. So your main point that the jews wrote the OT, and the Jews today arent christian so christianity is wrong, is just ridiculous.
