Oh my lord. This is the best makeover I’ve ever seen. Usually, you see this happen with only the person being changed into one luxurious outfit (which they could only wear once in a blue moon) and with makeup and a hairstyle that they will never be able to replicate, so with Trinny actually taking time to teach her about fashion and makup and then give her a hairstyle that she can redo everyday is so amazing!

This has been by far my favourite episode. Trinny has this wonderful ability to be firm without being harsh. She brings a new confidence to these women by listening to them, truly listening. A wonderful ability to get intimate quickly without feeling invasive. Truly a sublime gift.

As another academic take it from me, commitment can be bad for the career (academics need to be quite mobile and be able to take jobs in lots of different countries before they land a permanent position when they’re like 40 or so). She has a good decade of short research contracts and moving around ahead of her unfortunately. Problem with having a system still structured like it’s in the 1950s around men with stay at home wives and families they could take anywhere

My Dad told me today that I was such a gift to my grandmother (his mom) because I loved fashion, and she loved fashion, but we each had our own style -- I adored her vintage shoes and dresses, loved looking at pictures from her life in South America as a young girl/woman, then a stylish wife & mother in NYC. Finally a gorgeously modern grandmother in Southern California wearing pants & jackets because "times change," and no matter how colorful, thrift store crazy, all black all the time, she loved my looks -- the daughter she never had. That line about letting a daughter flower really made me tear up and miss her even more.

Wow. Anna looks like a model. Amazing. And Wow #2! - I just discovered I have the same colouring (a little lighter, but same) as Anna, even though I couldn't see it at first. I figured out my colours a long time ago (I'm 58, in Canada, hi). I noticed in the 80s when I was 20-ish (when they did that colour blocking, winter, fall, spring, summer thing) that I didn't fit in (according to that system, both winter and autumn colours in certain combos suited me. Those fashion ladies said that couldn't be... ha). In this video, every time Trinny made her colour observations, i shouted, "me too!" in surprise. Every colour and colour combo that suits Anna is stuff I've been wearing for my adult life; this video has been strangely satisfying. THANK YOU, TRINNY! I've been right all along!!!! Woot!

This is so good! I was just talking to my friend about how I also have cool eyes, cool hair and warm fair skin and that it's the hardest to find colors that suit me. As I am on my journey to wearing more color in my life, I find it really fascinating to try to see what works well. I am so glad you actually touched a little bit on this with the first woman.
