Okay so I don’t put anything strike industries on my rifles… except the bolt cover. They are awesome. Super under rated.

Exactly the same! except if you truly want to go 0% strike industries magpul mags a dust cover that does the exact same thing, heck they might have done it first. Its just a bit more expensive than the strike.

@@The3OfSwordsI literally went over to my co-workers house and removed the strike Industries J comp and dust cover off his rifle I put together for him before i knew better . It's an aero Precision upper and lower with a Midwest Industries combat Rail and a ba Hansen 16" barrel. Replaced the dust cover with a standard BCM. I'm really over the strike shit as it seems like most of it's made in Taiwan/korea or something

I have almost the same build. 13.7 rosco ss 223 wylde, but I threw the cobalt kinetics rcb-km comp. I've got the Midwest industries ultralight rail, aero upper and lower with that same SI port port cover. I just added the new magpul pdw stock and the emissary development handbrake.

@nonvisi792 жыл бұрын
@@TheBrigandBob it's good. Super compact but when you extend it to the right length of pull, it feels good. Also for anyone having issues with brass and steel, I had the same issues with the first round getting stuck and having to mortar it out. Once I changed out my bcg from the aero nickel boron to the standard nitride coated one it ran fine. Might be a tolerance issue.
@TheBrigandBob2 жыл бұрын
@@nonvisi79 I am alsonrunning a standard nitride bcg, maybe that's why I haven't noticed any issues, I do know rosco has a very specific size they drill their ports out to be, but I thinknas long as you use a rosco gasblock and it's positioned properly, you're going to be alright.

Nice build! looking to do something similar on my first SBR build. How far have stretched out the 13.7" barrel? I'll be running the Vortex Gen III Razor 1-10X LPVO. It's lights out on my 16" build. Though I wish the center dot was 1/2 MOA. It really starts to obstruct the bullseye when I had to zero at 200 yards. 300 + when you use the BDC grid lines there's no obstruction.
@TheBrigandBob2 жыл бұрын
Should be able to push it out to 500-600 easy with a 1-10. Truly, I need more disposable income to afford better optics, lol. A Vortex Razr 1-10x sounds dope.

Do you notice the handguard getting too hot? How’s the accuracy? I’m trying to build one too, Thanks!
@TheBrigandBob2 жыл бұрын
Man, solid question and yes, the MLOK railnis super lightweight and low profile, but that also means it gets HELLA HOT super fast. It was also 105 outside, which didn't help. A quad rail is heavier, but will take a lot longer to heat up. That said, this is more of a RECCE build, so its purpose is for luging around while hiking/rucking over long distances, and theoretically engaging at long distances, so you're theoretically not going to be pumping rounds through it quickly. There's always a tradeoff, but that's the thinking behind this build. The barrel is accurate, that primary arms ACSS cyclops 1x isn't though, it will NOT hold zero, swapping it out for another optic.
@chewminem20442 жыл бұрын
I wanna get the Cyclops 3x
@TheBrigandBob2 жыл бұрын
My 1x cyclops gen1 will not hold zero, it's the second one to do that. I don't know if others in the line have the same problem, and I KNOW their LPVOs are solid, but I'm not sure about their prism optics. I'd recommend one of the ACSS LPVOs honestly, wish that's what I'd done.

Yeah, but has all been reliable except this specific model of optic, which they no longer make, my understanding is the gen 2 is better. Also, agreed that the riser is a bit ridiculous, I was just running it to see if it had the desired result. It does, but not sure it's worth it.

My Rosco 13.7 would not cycle steel at all. Opened up the gas port and is still picky about what steel I can put through it. Runs brass like a champ. So unfortunately it is just a range toy. Too bad cause she's a beauty. But I just can't trust her. Just like that model I dated in the 90's.
@TheBrigandBob2 жыл бұрын
I stopped running steel after it became the same price as brass, but also, because that russian ammo uses corrosive primers and I have to clean my gun every time I used steel if I didnt want rusting to occur. Side bonus, brass isn't a magnetic metal, so if any of your parts are somehow magnetized you don't have to worry about brass shavings sticking to them like you do with steel. Still, gonna run some steel through mine and see what it does. Good looking out.
@boygonewhoopdataZZ2 жыл бұрын
LOL, I guess KAC and LMT are rang toys too then since they can't run steel.
@TheBrigandBob2 жыл бұрын
@@boygonewhoopdataZZ Yeah, not running steel is not a deal braker for me, as I've moved away from shooting steel cased ammo. If your gun is overgassed it'll probably run it fine, or a carbine length gas system, but midlength gas systems might be more finicky and have problems with steel. That said, I still haven't tried to run steel through this gun yet, because it just feels dirty. But I'm going to give it a go the next time I'm out at the range. I think I have an old mag with some steel cased rounds in it. I'll just mag dump it through this gun and see what happens.
