Rolling Stone recently polled some of the world's preeminent singers, composers, musicians, song-writers and record producers. They voted In My Life by The Beatles as the greatest song ever written. They voted this song by the Troggs as the most beautiful song ever recorded. I agree.

For sure, I'd put "Skyway" by The Replacements on there too. Also "For No One" (it's a much better song than Yesterday, really)

I love this song. It's nothing like their other popular one, "Wild Thing." Troggs, rhymes with fogs.

One of the songs with simple lyrics and simple chords but it goes straight to my heart each time and each time I do hear it I become a different person in a wonderful way.

From wikipedia: "The Troggs (originally called the Troglodytes {meaning cave dwelling people}) are an English garage rock band formed in Andover, Hampshire {England} in May 1964." Troggs rhymes with frogs. Their biggest hit was "Wild Thing" and the group is still around today.

Reg Presley wrote this in ten minutes. Reg is the lead singer.

Crazy how many hit songs were written in 5 minutes. Robert Hazard wrote "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" in the shower (then sold it to Cyndi Lauper and made bank off of it)

Good review, and I love the song too. The name of the band though rhymes with "frogs."

The Troggs had a lot of pop hits in Eng;land: I love their sound!

Definitely, this is a timeless song. Their biggest hit was WILD THING! I sure remember the Monkees I'm listening to music over 60 years and a music historian. Disliked their tv series but dug a few of their songs especially Valerie. Id appreciate you reacting to the Rascals, mid to late 60s group. Good Lovin, Groovin. People gotta be Free.

If you like country music it's well worth checking out Michael Nesmith's solo stuff. He was a real spaced-out "cosmic cowboy".

Next, please react to The Nazz/Hello It's Me. This will also warm your heart. The Troggs (pronounced the same as frogs) were an English band that recorded their only #1 hit Wild Thing. This is actually my favorite between the two.
