Tbh, I think Togashi has planned from the beginning for HxH to be a series with multiple protagonists. Yorknew gave us a taste of it, and now we're seeing it more fully realized. Gon and Killua are off doing their own thing after the literal monster that was Chimera Ant, and we'll assumedly see them reconvene at some point after Gon's somehow unlocked his Nen again. For now, I think we're gearing up to see some of the bigger fights that'll happen in HxH (i.e. Us finally getting Hisoka vs. Chrollo.) Kurapika's the most advanced Nen user of the main 4, and all of the people responsible for his clan's destruction are aboard that ship. I dunno, I just got a feeling that shit is about to get crazy.

If youve seen Yu Yu Hakusho you know this is true already, it has a very similar structure with the 4 main characters & a lot of story beats that hit the same e.g Toguro turning out to only be a B Class Demon & the Chimera Ants being a B Class threat yet them both seeming insurmountable at the time. Or Toguro forcibly grooming Yusuke/Karasu/Bui etc into stronger warriors in order to have a battle worthy of his strength much like Hisoka. You can see the rough idea for Nen coming to fruition when territories are introduced & the succession war clearly parallel’s the battle of the Three Kings to be the ruler of Demon world but instead of a rushed tournament we’re seeing how that situation would’ve played out with a more refined Togashi writing the story. It’s gonna be wild 🔥

In fact he relies on weapon of mass destruction to kill him which means he can’t use his nen ability in the crowd without being unnoticed or he simply think that it would be more effective against Halkenburg aura and his guardian spirit beast than his own power that could be easily countered by Halkenburg/Beast aura

If he doesn't know how the nen-beast works as well then it makes sense that he would potentially aim to use a physical solution that nen can't stop or block similar to how the poor man's rose was used against Meruem. Using a weapon nen can't counter against people who just got introduced to nen could be a brilliant counter to it. Everyone is all on the lookout for nen attacks because it is new and interesting but no one it worried about a simple knife in the back anymore cause they all think that nen is the bigger threat.

I see another possibility, and that's Benjamin learning a very important lesson by bad example, which is that as it turns out patience and planning are VERY important. It could result in a very dramatic evolution of his character, where in an attempt at revenge, he basically turns into Gus Fring and becomes far FAR more dangerous than anyone would have anticipated.

The shortness is actually more so a sign of strength to me. Many many characters who are god tier levels of strong are quite short in HxH. Issac Netero, Feitan, Meruem, Zeno, Kurpika, bisky (sorta), Ging etc. all these characters are shown to be way shorter next to people who are below them such as Isaac next to Morel or Meruem next to all the Royal guard .

I have something of a barebones theory about Benjamin's GSB. We saw that it was able to temporarily dispell whatever has been haunting Fugetsu, but it didn't do much wlse beyond that. I believe that we'll see Halkenburg battle Might, and strike him with Possession Arrow, before oving him back to Benjamin to attempt to kill Benjamin or at least make him witness Mught take his own life, before the GSB uses it's ability and releases Might from Possession Arrow. I think Benjamin's GSB has the ability to disable nen abilities within a certain range of Benjamin that don't include his own ir that of his allies. This way the GSB endurez that the only way an opponent could take him down would have to be the prince's specialty, hand to hand combat

When I first read the chapter, my immediate idea was that Halkenburg had taken over Mite's body, and would use his weapon to assassinate prince benjamin. There was a rumbling, so he definitely used his ability. But seeing as we haven't gotten any information on benjamins guardian spirit beast yet, I don't think that is going to happen, at least successfully, since it is probably going to be revealed in a plot twist. Something else Halky could do while inside balsamilco would be to order benjamins troops to commit to unfavorable engagements against other princes, weakening both their camps and making the rest of the competion target the most belligerent(and seemingly the most dangerous) prince. I also wonder if benjamins nen beast ability is opposite of halkenburg, that it gets stronger the more supporters he loses. Fitting for someone who uses his(evil) friends as ammo and refers to them as pieces. That would explain why it hasn't made any moves yet while Momoze's guardian spirit beast did. Also, balsamilco had managed to deprive Halky of his guards, which is what makes his aura shield basically invincible. So it made sense for him to strike while halkenburg was as vulnerable as he could get. Not sure if it was a good idea to do it himself when he is so integral to the first prince's strategy though. But that may have been a calculated risk to give the attempt as high a chance at succeeding as possible, like making a diplomatic approach to get in the immediate vicinity of prince halkenburg more believable.

I think it's a bit too early to say that Benjamin would flat out loose the war if Might were to die. For all we know Might's nen ability could be one most effective as a postpartum ability in conjunction with the chemical weapon TSK; moreover, it could also be an ability which where it is successfully transferred to Benjamin to inherit, would work most optimally. :)

Balsamico is most likely named after balsamic vinegar, in which case it would be Bal-SA-mico, not Balsa-MI-co. Minor nitpick. Also fourth option: Balsamico succeeded in poisoning Halkenburg, who transferred himself using the Possession Arrow... but to someone else entirely. I mostly want this because Balsamico is such an interesting character and it would be a shame if he died so soon. Either way, it'll be very interesting to find out how things will shake out with Halkenburg's soul being in a new body, how it will affect the Succession War. "The attack on my life has left me scarred and deformed," perhaps?

I don’t know if Togashi is referencing that. I think Halkenburg will win against Benjamin just because the first thing did with his hatsu was to attack Benjamin’s soldier. There’s Benjamin Nen beast too, even though it looks scary I think it has a Nen after death effect.
