Ah man, you neglected the story that goes with the Edelweiss. The story goes that in European villages near the mountains I'd assume, if a guy liked a girl and wanted to win her heart, he'd go and get her an edelweiss to show his love and to express that he loved her dearly enough he'd climb mountains for her. Because the edelweiss grows above the tree line typically on the sides of mountains, it's fairly high up there and would be a challenge to acquire one - not as simple as say going to the florist and buying a flower, and definitely more meaningful.

@@rjpoetry3319 That's why it was done. A symbolic gesture of "I will climb mountains for your love", what other way to express a sincere commitment to a girl than fetching a flower that requires commitment to get to?

Hey, just a Quick Note. In Austria the cornflower is associated with the Nazis, as it was worn as a Symbol of the nsdap before the anexation by germany between 1933-1938. Therefore some people in Austria and germany might assume you want to associate yourself to these people by wearing a corn flower.

Your boutonniere creates a nice transition between the tie and the pocket square, something to learn from. Though, when I go down this boutonniere route I'll start with something more basic as an edelweiss.

I think selling poppies at Fort Belvedere can seem a bit ignorant. The reason poppy boutonnières usually look unrealistic is because veterans make them in their spare time. The veteran unions sell them as a form of charity and the money goes to support veterans. I’d maybe reconsider selling it in your shop, or if you do, donate the proceeds to veteran foundations.
