I know if I run out of iodized salt, I start having thyroid issues cropping up. It doesn't seem like it takes much

Love this new series! You should do them all! After that you could break down all the types of sugars. Or go balls deep with all the different proteins. Or the gut microbiome. Or you could do like 'what to eat in a day to cover all bases' or 'how to combat common deficiencies with these foods'. I love this subject and your videos are the best. Thanks man. Also you could do like a 'price per nutrient' list and have low costing foods with high nutrients. people always love to save money epecially in this day and age.

Hi Talon, love your videos. Could you do one about how and when to take supplements if you are? Such as not to take iron with coffee, or not to take "A" with "B", how long to wait, etc. And could you put in into a list that we can copy down? Thanks, this is where I struggle the most.
@Talon_Fitness26 күн бұрын
I personally am not a big supporter of supplements unless they're necessary and I'm far from the most knowledgeable about many of them. So I don't see that happening but I'm sure there is someone else out there who can.
@lesliehardy184326 күн бұрын
@@Talon_Fitness Thanks. The reason I asked is because there are foods I can't eat because they give me pain, so I use supplements to compensate. I also am disabled and have mobility issues that let me cook only one thing (meat, vegs, other but not all at the same time) so I try to make it up with supplements. Thanks for your videos, I've been watching since the beginning and do know you're not keen on supplements but some of us have no choice. Cheers.

Blood letting as a solution is still a thing. Your body overcompensates and for a while, it will make more blood than it needs and that will upregulate efficiency. Granted I've never heard of athletes or any practical protocols robustly tested come out but there are a few anecdotes and practically, it does help a number of people. We are just fine tuning logistics here but the mechanism is valid. It's just too fiddly of a mechanism and there is danger in unknowingly dealing damage to oneself.

I also eat 70g of spinach and arugula raw with my lunch bar 75g of mixed dates, black walnuts, almonds, pecans, bananas, protein oats, coconut, blueberries, cranberries, flax/hemp seed. For dinner I eat a chicken breast. I take cheap iron supplement, as well as vitamin E and Magnesium 2x250mg. Daily. I wonder where I’m doing to much and where I’m deficient.

I heard if you eat a lot of copper rich foods you'll lose zinc is that true?😅
@kayziix961826 күн бұрын
According to ChatGPT, sorry ... " They often compete for absorption in the small intestine because they use similar pathways (transport proteins) to enter the bloodstream. An excess of one can potentially lead to a deficiency of the other. Consuming a large amount of copper-rich foods or supplements can reduce the absorption of zinc because copper and zinc use a common transport system (such as metallothionein) in the intestine. This competitive absorption means that when there is a high concentration of copper, less zinc may be absorbed. Summary : While it’s possible that consuming a lot of copper-rich foods can impact zinc absorption and potentially lead to a zinc deficiency, this generally requires a significant imbalance or the use of supplements. For most people, maintaining a balanced diet should prevent any issues with copper and zinc balance "
