Now, the last two relevant mineral micronutrients to mention, I believe, are the iodine and the selenium. I hope there will be a video about them in the future, especially about iodine and its relationship with the thyroid gland.

Every time you share your "where you get it" slides I'm reminded that I need more seed and nuts in my diet. It might be interesting to do a sort of "meta-analysis" of your own content to see how often specific items come up. It might be Recency Bias, but your top 5 categories seem pretty self-evident.

Nvm my previous reply but you're correct, the double bond between the carbonyl and the nitrogen shouldn't be there. I thought is was a misinterpreted resonance form but I looked up the structure now

If I see phosphorus and nutrition I always think of 2 things that biology left stuck in my brain: 1. ADP/ATP 2. Phospholipids in cell walls. That's why my head always considers it a primary building block. Essentially being the cement of every single cell in your body.

Great video! Will you make one as well about saturated fats? I wonder, are they more of a true nutrient or a true k!ller, and are they as bad as they're made out to be? What about those that raise LDL cholesterol and those raising HDL? It's an interesting but confusing & convoluted subject that I'd love to find some clarity on how to consume the correct ones in correct amounts and how much worry their overconsumption truly deserves

I wish you would do a super foods list of all the top tier foods across the board for different dietary lifestyle choices omnivore, carnivore, vegetarian, vegan. I will pretty much eat anything that won't kill me. But with all the fake foods that are sold to us these days ("pasteurized processed American cheese food"😱) shopping for real food is a trial.

Bit of a weird question but I'm curious: do you guys think nutritional labels should show the actual content of the nutrients in question? Or do you think they should show the effective content, accounting for absorption? Like if a certain food item has 100mg of a certain nutrient but you'll only absorb about 50% of that, should the label show 100mg or 50mg? I think both are technically accurate but I'm not certain which one is better overall.
@gregorammann714722 күн бұрын
The issue is that the absorption of most things you eat depend on what you combine it with. So while you can compare MgO with Magnesium glycinate in its pure forms, when you have it in food that contains other divalent cations or fiber (or basically everything else) your absorption rates will be all over the place. Because of this and the fact that it mostly does not matter for practical purposes makes me think the actual amount is easier to understand and apply in real life.
@samuelbulow529122 күн бұрын
@@gregorammann7147 that makes sense
@incrxdible989622 күн бұрын
i think it just is important to know how much you need. If the RDA is 1 mg, then i will be good by taking 1 mg, assuming it is what I need. It might be better to tell how much you efficiently need of it, but shifting the RDAs would be very confusing. Many of us wont be able to get every mineral in great amounts and with high bioavailabilities anyway.
@gilgabro42021 күн бұрын
*you gotta watch got theory content.* anything form alt shift x is amazing but i really liked his video on euron. The forsaken chapter as read by gorge rr martin would be amazing after that and maybe watch a theory video on the forsaken chapter after that. You could also watch Time traveling bran, Maester conspiracy or Pink letter from Preston jacobs. David Lightbringer pioneered a theory about Moon meteors causing the long night and Michael Talks About Stuff als has amazing videos.
