I think Poison Ivy would have been interesting return. Neo Gotham was very industrial with less and less green space. Ivy would have been great to see come back trying to fight this “war on plants” as she’d probably see it. About the only green areas we ever see are lawns and wooded areas around estates like Wayne Manor.

Yeah, unfortunately unlike comic Ivy this one is mortal, heck tie in comics reveal that the poison Ivy in the final season of BTAS isn't even the real Ivy, their a series of Plant Clones that Ivy makes to keep Harley company while Pamela lives in retirement. Once Harley stopped being a villain there's no more reason to make Ivy clones.
@somethingfunny21992 жыл бұрын
@@anthonyrodriguez3495 As much as I love the idea of Pamela calling it quits and living a quiet life at least only coming back to Gotham to visit Harley after she “died” I can’t get the idea of Ivy returning at some point in Terry’s career out of my head. Poison Ivy returning would have been interesting and they could have done a societal redemption story for her where she is trying to grow new plants to help balance out the future Gotham’s cityscape that has very little greenery to it and to provide some more sources of breathable air. Ivy is trying to cause any harm but Bruce is somewhat skeptical of her motives but Terry sees that she means no real harm. But some teens vandalize the garden that she had created with the goal of providing people an area to grow their own fruits and vegetables and this sets her off and she creates a plant monster to help her get back at the teens. Terry then manages to calm Ivy down and tell her that some people don’t understand what she is trying to do and that violence isn’t the way to get others to respect plant life. In the process an older Harley appears and rekindles their friendship and both hug each other as it has been a very long time since they last saw each other.

I used to write Batman beyond fanfic and I always had this concept for Clock King adjacent villain. Basically the starting premise is that Clock King after getting arrested wrote a manifesto about efficiency that ends up as a very prized piece of information after a Mega Corp dedicated to software institutes it and has a nearly 50 percent raise in efficiency. However, the CEO of said corporation decides to create an AI built with the manifesto in mind to regulate the workers, and that AI gains sentience after the well oiled machine it's maintained gets interrupted by Terry smashing through one of the labs it's in charge of fighting a super villain. The company has a number of contracts with Gotham PD and the city to maintain their surveillance systems which have a backdoor the AI can access which it uses to frame Batman with a manufactured surveillance feed of Batman murdering a perp just to remove the unknown element of Batman that the AI can't account for in it's efficiency algorithm. This leads to a storyline of Terry and Bruce versus this massive surveillance network through out Gotham and trying to figure out who framed Terry. I really liked Clock King, and always thought these Mega Corps in Gotham would adapt his ideas about efficiency to an AI. I hope this isn't really lame lol.

I would've really liked to have seen Two-Face and Poison Ivy in Beyond. If it were up to me Two-Face would ve found some sort of inner peace between his personalities and reconnected with his wife after being released from Arkham, while Poison Ivy would've taken over an island off the coast of South America and fully engrossed herself in it after hearing of Harley's "death", no longer feeling any sort of connection to her humanity now that her girlfriend was seemingly gone for good, until a Wayne-Powers oil-spill near her island pisses her off enough to go back to Gotham and start tearing through the city until Harley finally comes out of hiding and talks her down, the episode ending on them getting back together at last and departing to live somewhere else together. I've also always thought that it would've been funny if they took advantage of the audience's lack of knowledge on everything Bruce did between TNBA and the opening flashback of Beyond to bring back a classic Batman villain that didn't show up in BTAS or TNBA at all (maybe KGBeast or Copperhead? Doctor Death possibly? I don't know; just somebody who's fought Bruce a bunch of times in the comics) and have everybody but Terry see this as the big return of a classic threat, while Terry himself serves as a viewer avatar and just finds himself really confused by everything since he never heard of this villain before now.

I feel like a part of why Batman Beyond's villains don't usually hit as well as the old BTAS besides them not having many that are a parallel or foil to Terry Mcginis as most of Bruce's rogue's gallery were. I guess one that could count would be his former friend that still lived a delinquent life but he dies in the second episode. Imagine if Anarky was brought in as a Batman Beyond villain. It would fit with the sort of cyberpunk aesthetic of the series having a group of anarchists taking things too far while having a point especially if Anarky was screwed over by Wayne Corp in the past back when it was run by Powers/Blight.

By Batman Beyond, I think they state that Scarecrow retired and died while performing experiments, but I think a great episode plot would be Terry consulting him (as a civilian) to take down either Spellbinder or a new Scarecrow who is using an old plan of his that he could never implement because it was too impractical at the time due to a lack of resources. Either that, or a Riddler story with the same premise, but Terry has to use Riddler both to help solve the riddles and to help dismantle the plan of the new Riddler

You know a show's good when people really hoped it got more than 52 eps featuring not only more of its original villains, but also the return of some old ones like Killer Croc, the Riddler, Catwoman (or perhaps a legacy character based off of her), the ever elusive and nigh-unkillable Clayface, and especially Two-Face (with him ending things even on a bittersweet tragic note like, hmm, acid bath suicide) and Poison Ivy (and this time, not her clone). Hell, would even say that it should have gotten a 13-ep fourth season that could have even resolved The Zeta Project's cliffhanger by a bunch and to satisfy the 65-episode pattern common to shows then. Inque being an Imperium minion offshoot makes so much sense, not lying on that. Dr. Phosphorus becoming Blight in Batman Beyond brings into mind Tim Drake being the Jason Todd Robin-expy for The DCAU. They did justice with the RFG, 'nuff said. Same with George Lazenby doing the King there, complete with meta-moments that reminded us of his short lived James Bond "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" run after Sean Connery's and before Roger Moore's. (Underrated Bond movie too, by the way.) At least they gave Bane a nice farewell. Same with poor old Freeze. (Isn't the robotic look of the latter reused a bit for The Batman 2004 cartoon?) Shriek may have also become the basis for Ultimate Echo-Echo from Ben 10: Ultimate Alien, which had Murakami's involvement. Don't worry, The Batman 2004 getting more attention and love is nice. Plus, Spellbinder is one heck of a villain... if only he partook in the Arkhamverse games. KOBRA was probably new during the JL+JLU era, and just reached their prime in BB. I wonder if the Stalker has history with any of the Static Shock characters. Out of the Past is great, but I don't think everyone loved it for screwing over poor Talia and Bruce there. Huge misstep not having Killer Croc in the show, even before Batman: Arkham Knight did a slightly similar take. Mr. Fix being involved in Warren's pacification does make sense in the DCAU too. They did well enough with the Joker, the Jokerz, and the Joker Gang. However, at least some redemption tales would have come into order. "The Terrible Trio" is an overhated episode, but the villains there do deserve a lot of hate. Golem's tech manipulation powers sure are woefully underutilized in the show, I'll admit. Man, would have loved seeing a Green Lantern Beyond/Curaré showdown with that origins info in mind. Seeing that Mandragora kid sure feels more sadder with Batman Beyond in mind. He should have gotten a better, more moral life away from his father's bad legacy. Just how did Lloyd Ventrix's invisibility plastic toxicity get remedied come Batman Beyond though? Dang, the lack of a Parasite Beyond episode or two is a waste. (Oh, and the timestamp chapters for the video are a bit incorrect if not absent. Mr. Freeze should be at 8:25 or 8:29, the absent Shriek is at 9:37, KOBRA should be at 11:05, The Stalker is at 11:29, Ra's and Talia al Ghul at 12:17, Killer Croc at 12:28, The Joker Returns at 12:42, The Terrific Trio at 15:19, Curaré at 15:46, Cuvier's Splicers at 16:18, The Ts at 16:57, Robert Vance and Son at 17:15, Brain Trust at 17:35, Rat Catcher is actually at 17:49, False Face is actually at 18:39, Starro-Superman at 18:58, Amanda Waller at 20:12, Hush is actually at 20:30, Calendar Man at 20:53, The Signal Man is at 21:04, and Catwoman Beyond at 21:20, among others.)

Can agree that "The Terrible Trio" is overhated. Same with "I've Got Batman in My Basement" and "The Mechanic". For me, I don't think there's a terribad B: TAS/TNBA ep that makes me want to wish fanon discontinuity on it, but I would put "Prophecy of Doom" as one of the weaker eps. I actually like "Time Out of Joint" since the Clock King's return was long awaited in my opinion, while I have a huge fascination with time manipulation as a tool for combat and making ends meet, as seen in works like First Encounter Assault Recon, Max Payne, and the recent Trepang2 with "bullet time", Steins;Gate and its time-leaping, Titanfall 2 and that one-level time-skipping device, and most especially Puella Magi Madoka Magica and the awesome yet tragic magical girl character known as Homura Akemi. Helps that the ep kind of foreshadows the evolution of time travel later on in the DCAU.

Favorite "Beyond" villain, huh. (🤔) I'd say Derek Powers/Blight, but I'm thinking I like Ira Billings/Spellbinder just as much, if not even best! Really underrated character.

I still remember in the summer of 2000 after going to my 1st grade open house my mom took us to Dairy Queen then to Blockbusters and I rented Batman Beyond the Movie and Batman Beyond Return on the Joker they were both great but seeing Derek Powers turn into Blight and watch that transformation was awesome. Will Friedle did such a great job voicing Terry and Batman although it was weird for me to not have Bruce be Batman but still getting to hear the GOAT Kevin Conroy as the mentor really helped. They really did such a great job going from BTAS to Beyond they totally lived up to that show and ended up making yet another great character. Would love to see a Live Action Batman Beyond. As long as it's done properly of course.

Yeah what makes these” villains“ so compelling is that the majority of them have a tragic past that motivates them to commit crimes against society

I've always seen the Batman beyond rogues as interpretations of the spider-man villains. Blight is a green industrialist, like the goblin, spellbinder is an illusioncaster like mysterio, inque is a puddle of black goo like the venom symbiote, Stalker is a wild hunter like kraven. Kobra was always kind of a hydra knock off even before beyond. Armory is a weapons designer in a suit of armor like iron man. The terrific trio are like the fantastic four as you say. The splicers can reflect all the guys like rhino, lizard, tarantula and other half-man, half-animals

I mean yeah but I also feel like Batman just… kinda always had a similar Rogues Gallery to Spider-Man too. Mysterio is like Scarecrow (and Spellbinder) Black Cat is like Catwoman. Sandman is like Clayface (and Inque to a lesser extent) The Lizard is like Killer Croc, and also Man-Bat (scientist who experimented on himself and transformed into a half-animal monster) Me Negative is like Harvey Dent. Hell you could argue Kraven the Hunter and Bane are similar - both being people who travel across the world to an American city to hunt down an animal-themed superhero. And they both fight a ton of miscellaneous mob bosses.

2:52 - recombine Inque with the Brushogun (Teen Titans: Trouble in Tokyo) and you'd have the basis for a badass ink villian; that's right - Inque, Brushogun, Evil Bendy (Bendy and the Ink Machine), Phantom Blot (Disney - colored version from "Mickey Mouse Works") Phantom Blot (Disney - may have some magic in him version from "Epic Mickey"), the Chemeleon art thief (Super Secret Secret Squirrel), Splatterpheonix (Darkwing Duck), etc. But ESP. the first three...

I thought it would've been amazing to see all sorts of gangs throughout Gotham where they're all inspired by Bruce's classic Batman villains Like a gang inspired by Two-Face or Riddler. Maybe even wackier guys like The Ventriloquist. Always thought it would be cool to have the leader of the Two-Face inspired gang be called "Dichotomy" and have his relationship grow personal with Terry. Not necessarily old friends like with Bruce and Harvey, just something to make the friction between the two personal

I wonder if the Parasite from 19:57 was always meant to be a different guy (not Rudy Jones) or if that's the explanation Tucker gave post-Season 3, which left the original presumably no longer living.
@treadingwater862 жыл бұрын
Maybe the reason the future version of Parasite looks so monstrous is that he went too far and basically overdosed? The idea that the future Parasite isn’t Rudy Jones is pretty enticing though. The ability to steal the power of other metas would most likely be in high demand with people like Cadmus so them trying to recreate his abilities with someone under their control isn’t that farfetched given everything they got up to in JLU.

Killer Croc would've been cool to see in Batman Beyond, but a past interview by Bruce Timm implies that Croc died sometime prior to Beyond and his taxidermied body is in a museum somewhere.

@@Ted-Kendrick I found it on Wikipedia involving Killer Croc in other media. Other Batman villains have the same thing too. And it wasn't Bruce Timm, it was Paul Dini who confirmed it. My bad.

A new Madhatter Beyond could have been cool as the mind-control tech would be even more advanced, maybe even convincing the victim they are really in Wonderland. Perhaps too similar to Spellbinder, but maybe this Madhatter could run a SAO like videogame world that could trap Terry or another main character inside it. Maybe they could even turn all of Neo-Gotham into a twisted Wonderland. A future version of the Court of Owls might be interesting. Future Dick Grayson and other members of the Titans returning to fight some of their villains alongside Terry. Ghostmaker Beyond? Clock King Beyond? Black Mask Beyond? And def Killer Croc, who could even work with a bunch of kids who didn't get their splice taken away. Also, Etrigan.

A lot of Terry’s Villains can be compared to Spider-Man villains if you think about it. Both fight a green guy who’s day job is rich guy, black goo, a guy that controls electricity, a guy that controls soil , The Antagonist from The most dangerous game, a guy that creates illusions, a guy that uses sound-waves, etc
