Today, I'll be talking about a long forgotten Minecraft creepypasta named "White Eyes" that had a major influence on future gaming-centric horror stories to come, and why you've been lied to about the story of Herobrine's origins time and time again. As well, I'll be taking a look into the backstories of both the famous Minecraft urban legend Herobrine, and the fabled Minecraft Alpha v1.1.1 version from 2010; often called one of the worst Minecraft update rollouts ever.

the fact that some random person out there had not one but TWO lost versions of minecraft just sitting on an old harddrive makes me wonder if there's more cases like this that we will never get to know about.

It's more common than you think. Many knowingly (or unknowingly) store extremely sought out lost or rare media. I'm not a data hoarder myself, but I know I have at least a small amount of otherwise lost or hard to come by media saved on my hard drive right now, and I'm sure people who've been around longer than me (and have more old hard drives) hold some of the most wanted pieces of media out there, and probably don't even know about it.

in fact, some versions of minecraft are probably lost because of that. they just had a random harddrive that had a version of minecraft in it, and they never thought to actually preserve the drive because they thought that "it was just an older version, who cares if i just leave it there? not gonna hurt anything!"

Every single white eyes pasta before Herobrine sounds way better than his, like imagine a group of white eyed entities just forcing their way into your game after a friday update manifesting themselves in caves, as Steve with white eyes, or animals with white eyes, gradually corrupting your world as you stop mining to try and escape them, before you see one outside no longer blending into shadows and it looks just like 3:47 on all fours unleashing a loud chipped ear rape through your speakers bursting your ear drums and running at you at a ungodly speed as if the rules of Minecraft don't apply to it before it kills you, giving your monitor a seizure and bricking your computer permanently.

its cause people are smarter, and technology is a trend now, only way minecraft can recreate this, is add a really rare mob 1 in a million chance, where the mob pops up on your screen with a glitched skin, and when you see it on screen, it teleports away, and then people make sighting vids or tweet or complain about it to the dev team

I started playing Minecraft in 2021, just around the height of its popularity. I still remember the exact version that I started playing on, which was 1.4.2. Old Minecraft just had something so special about it that no other game had or has, it's just so palpable. Also, I'm not sure what it is about it, but the old glass texture just connects with me somehow and is probably one of the most palpable and nostalgic items of old Minecraft for me. I have installed beta 1.7.2 and have been playing it occasionally and I love it! It's so relaxing and is entirely paced at your own liking. I also get that child-like fear every now and then when I think I hear footsteps, or when I think I see something off in the distance at night. This fear is also heightened by the fact that these older versions are extremely lonely and isolating.

Minecraft back in the day still had code for the human mob, The texture existed, The data for the AI did not, After the update the herobrine picture was taken, The human mob file was removed entirely, It was most likely the human mob's code that glitched and spawned there, Given it had no code, It would most likely not be interactable due to this, The white eyes were just fog, How i know this? I messed with the files a lot while i played the game in 2010-2011, My brother worked on the game back in the day, He does not know where the herobrine IMAGE came from, But says it could have been the multiplayer that had been added an update before. This is all i know of this.

man, I remember when I first heard about herobrine, it wasn't from sites, it was from when me and my friend was playing on xbox, a tnt explosion on creative, he screams "herobrine!" I am like who tf is that? and I asked "then why didn't he come out of the explosion if he popped up" and my other friend said "right" and then later on I thought stupidly, when I saw steves head in creative that isn't that how you spawn herobrine or something? they all said nah, didn't make fun of me for it, then I researched what herobrine is, and was disappointed he was just a myth and not some really rare mob boss that was much stronger than ender dragon and is humanoid or even an easter egg man made by the game, just some made up entity mob that holds the same legend as a monster under your bed, the troll, or slenderman, or bigfoot or loch ness monster, first I have ever heard something made up myth like in a game before, I thought is origin and personality was cool, and how powerful people described him, but the modpacks differ from the same feel, another disappointment
