We tend to believe that history is a trend toward modernity and progress, assuming that humanity is slowly getting "better". But, in my opinion, and based on my studies, human history is full of ups and downs of qualities of life, and the idea of what is "better" is based on our current modern ideas.

I think your time travel analysis is suffering from the same problem as your "would you push the button" analysis did in those videos: You assume that a good high-quality life expects the time traveler in the present and that they will inevitably return to it and will WANT to return to it (because that is what your life is like). Were you a guy from the 1900's (or 1800's or 1700's or whatever) being told about the education, health, comfort, etc. available today, you would not hesitate a second to return to the downtrodden toil you came from (because unless you were a rich person, life was heck). Similarly, looking into the future from now on could include advantages that we cannot yet conveice, completely fixing or nullifying many of the problems that trouble our daily lives. You, as someone with a literal dream job, stable financial situation, a house and wife and kid and many great friends, would of course always prefer your reality to a push-the-button fantasy-reality or a life in a future society but most people on the planet do not have that happy a life. Most would probably find that the average quality of life in the future is better than their actual quality of life now similar to how the average quality of life now is better than that of a factory worker during the industrial revolution or a feudal peasant - we live better now than kings did through most of recorded history.

The third floor is wayyy too late seeing as he already knew what this character did and the wisps are uniquely shaped like each item and he knows they disappear on contact like normal Bethany. Like, he should notice that at least. Again, I'm not blaming him, he's focusing on chat and the conversation and dodging, etc. BUT I am blaming him for focusing on those things, instead of the game because he admits to doing it.
