I’m more curious as to what happened to the other nations at the meantime? Since the land of Fontaine is higher than the rest of the Teyvat wouldn’t this means all of Teyvat is flooded?

Fontaine is like a city in middle of fountain, it will flood cuz the primal water go over the city and dissolved everyone. Before the water went away somewhere else later, If the original prophecy happened

It’s incredible how much the animation has improved from the beginning of the game. Ever since Sumeru, the cutscenes have had a much more cinematic quality. The 4.3 event cutscene with Cheveruse is the perfect example.
