I gotta back up Twobold about the Crossfade honestly I actually picked up Hold to Crossfade from Eskay and Frogger, and it feels *really* good to use. Main thing I noticed is that it helped tone down my crossfade spam, since I don't have to constantly press the button to swap, holding down is for speed, and I can just let go if I need to heal. It's not nearly as intensive as it sounds, and I'd argue it's less intensive than having to think of pressing crossfade every time I want to swap between the two

I am going to support twobold and the other lovely commenters. I got the crossfade hold from Frogger and I love it. It just makes sense to me. Makes it easier and quicker to switch from heals and back. Feels like doing it on instinct. Especially in high intensity games where I am switching incredibly often. Keeps me conscious of what I’m using when otherwise I’d forget to switch

I use hold to crossfade for exactly the reason Twobold does, if I want to go fast I hold the sprint button. When I dont want to go fast, I will be healing. I think I mainly switched this in the first place because I would commonly forget to switch my crossfade accordingly, and would stick on speed, forgetting to heal.

Slight note about holding for crossfade. it has a few advantages actually, most notable is not as effective in ow2 as it was in ow1 though. When you get stunned it will automatically swap to heal aura. The other is a much higher passive healing since your default state is heal aura. The downside is you gotta hold a button down.
