Something people don’t talk about is how Ski’s SoundCloud was hacked sometime last year. Because of that, half of his old classics that were SoundCloud exclusives got wiped and it’s annoying. The thing is Kendrick got passed down the torch of the west coast, dropped many hits, made his control verse, dropped 4 albums 3 being classics and won a Pulitzer Prize before he took a hiatus. Cole dropped 2 classics, did his mixtapes, went plat with no features, then went on a feature run from 2018 onwards. He had a label album that got nominated for a Grammy. Dropped another one called D Day, was on the creed 3 soundtrack. Also played ina basketball league. Frank arguably has 2 classics and still has a lot of hype. Was part of movement in the earlier half of the 2010s. Joey been doing fashion, directing, acting, dropped a classic, dropped more music, and did features. I say all this to say these artists had a right to go on hiatus cause early in their careers they were consistently doing something. Then they took a hiatus. Ski Mask doesn’t have that classic album, he didn’t have that he’s gonna run the game talk around him, his name was tied with X and Juice, he also didn’t have the star power, etc so he didn’t have the luxury to take a break. Even Drake who’s cemented his legacy is always making or dropping something. Even Jid who was on the same XXL cypher knew he couldn’t just take a break even tho he had 2 well received albums like TNS and DiCaprio2. Every year he’s dropped something or been on a collab. Been going on somewhat of a feature run himself. He got the spillage village stuff, went crazy on both Dreamville projects, dropped a an album people are already calling a classic. Had 2 hit songs being Enemy and Surround sound. So even he knew that he can’t just stop for that long without delivering. So Ski has to do better cause I want to see him succeed
